Government funded media isn’t helpful at all!
Or government censorship or banning mis/disinformation!
Been seeing a lot of flack lately on both of these guys. They’re both smart and right about a lot of issues. So are their critics. I just don’t like this high school level popularity contests. My suggestion is knock it off and target the real enemies.
Yeah, well, both of those guys need to take a walk in the woods, after turning off their relentless AI caves.
They say some reasonable shite, but they are also part of the problem about why none of us can trust the online world, or why we should be afraid to fly, or why we should be afraid to even deal with our banks.
The guy that Jordan was talking to reminds me of the “warlock” character in that latter day Bruce Willis movie about a fire sale and what these computer geeks are revenging.
Back to taking a walk in the woods.
Their mission is accomplished. Turn off your computer. Don’t fly. Don’t leave your home. Don’t think. Don’t read books. Don’t drink and drive. Don’t forget to consider MAID.
Excuse the ramble that I am sure most of you ignored, but if you’re still reading this… WE are being played.
This hit home with me.
I can no longer access my very tiny X account that consists of mostly bots.
What preceeded was a remark on my part that DOGE has all this information on Congress so use it for the good of mankind.
AI is most certainly BS. Not to say that it is -useless- mind you, but it is not and will not ever be intelligent.
AI is a device to make us quit this online world in the same way that DEI is a way to make us quit flying the friendly skies, AI also has ruined what we once could think was real, let alone true and beautiful/
EG Was that a Van Gough? or was it an AI version?
Is that John Lennon at 80?
Are those nymphs real?
Are those comments real, or bots?
Etc.
I quit.
They win.
Got it?
It’s right there in the name, Artificial Intelligence. “Artificial” means it’s not real intelligence.
I watched some of this, and I quite agree with what was said.
The one good thing I take from this is that none of the combatants in the propaganda war are having it all their own way.
Even the US government with it’s essentially full control over the social media platforms couldn’t prevent #OrangeManBad from getting a second term. On the other hand, the Canadian government managed to save the Liberals from an historic repudiation with a pretty sloppy psy-op against the CPC that only worked in Toronto.
Chaos and confusion in the media turns out to be a good thing. Not ideal, but better than the lock-step wall of noise we’ve had for decades.
51% of internet traffic is non-human in origin.
I think the term A.I. is a bit of a red herring. I think of it more as automated systems.
“Elon Musk says there’s a 10 to 20% probability that AI annihilates us.”
Sound about right.
It will become more of artificial idiocy.
Once there are actors that put together a program to initiate wholesale destruction, the AI will be instructed to finish it off.
Isn’t it rather interesting that if you read such happenings in the science fiction of the 20th century, it was just science fiction. Would suggest here, no more fiction.
You may have got the sense of it watching that robot attacking it’s minder. He was lucky the plug was pulled on time.
Of course the massive, all point destruction is going to be something to behold.
Maybe the watchers are watching and will stop it before the extinction.
AI take-over. The education system is toast (not to mention the brains of those supposedly being educated). This is pretty depressing: https://archive.is/6kq0P
I do wonder why the stock market is powering upwards (I’m actually up overall from before Trump started the tariff campaign) when there is all this doom and gloom about the effect of tariffs on the economy from straightforward conservative sources like the AIER and the UK’s IEA. There was a brief significant drop at the start but it has been a very quick recovery and beyond. Historically it has been well nigh impossible to game the whole market though individual stocks are very susceptible.

Read this, it articulates much of my reasoning why AI IS BS
