‘Our old relationship with the United States … is over,’ says Carney in victory speech. He did mention energy corridors.
Jim Warren: A Dangerous Game: The FIX IT or WEXIT proposition
Pipeline Online Podcast Ep. 8: Mark Scholz, CEO of Canadian Association of Energy Contractors

There’s a reason Carnage says energy corridors. He’s talking about power lines not pipelines.
Carnage will now double down on net zero. He’ll add an industrial carbon tax to big “polluters” such as the oil industry, steel mills, and cement plants. Trump will welcome those Canadian industries shutting down, or moving to the US.
Auto industry? Look for Carnage to decimate, if not eliminate, internal combustion vehicle manufacturing. Billions will be spent on battery plants (with the appropriate skim for Liberal insiders).
Consumer carbon tax? It will soon be back.

If Trump really is as nutty as his performance during his first 100 days suggests, it would be unwise to give him the ammunition he might need to actually absorb the prairies without our consent. We’d be lucky to get the status of a territory like Puerto Rico much less that of a state.
What would one expect from an adjunct professor of “environmental sociology”. Brian … you sure run in some odd circles …
Trump’s performance is nearly exactly what his voters have voted for. And if some truly nutty professor, err nutty adjunct professor believes Trump is the nutty one … well … he’s certifiable.
Good Luck Canada … Good Luck Prairies.
Trump would do what? Invade Canada? No. He would offer prairie Canadians lower income taxes, tariff-free access to the U.S., cheaper gasoline, far fewer gun laws, and no requirements for identity politics.
BTW, some years ago I was preparing to do a radio talk show with one of the prairie radio stations about gun control. I was startled to find that most American states immediately adjacent to the border had lower murder rates than their Canadian neighbors. I doubt giving up your nanny state gun laws would make you less safe.
As an American, I wonder that Canada did not discuss the root of Trump’s 51st state crack. He was referring to the fact that Canada’s economy is smaller than some of our states’ economies. Yes it it larger than most, my understanding is that your economy is about the size of New York’s. But still, for a country with oil, natural gas, many valuable minerals, and an educated workforce that’s pretty sad. But we do appreciate that your medical tourism is keeping the hotels in Buffalo afloat.
Trump, however, isn’t about to set you right. He is all about America first, I believe he thinks it would be easier to compete with Canada if Canada was hobbled by a far left government. Gives him a place that might be leftist enough to take our deported economic refugees. So he did nothing.
I think a healthy Canada is an asset to all of North America, but I am not president. Good luck, I hope Canada quickly recovers and becomes once again the valuable, respectable ally we had in WWII.
As to “Trump wants to take over Canada”, I’m surprised that ever got any traction. You think we need to add to our assimilation and language problems by introducing a third language? Non, merci.
Your take is the best I have heard… that Trump wants a hobbled Canada.
As to the “Trump wants to take over Canada” , as far as I can tell, about 50% of Canadians take this very very seriously. Frothing at the mouth seriously. The other 50% think it’s funny, but wonder what Trump is up to, to keep repeating it.
I have had non political conversations in the last 4 months, where a person just blurts out their anger that Trump is about to invade, and declare they will fight tooth and nail. But they still want to restrict firearms!
Eagle and Ft, those are the most sensible things said on this board in the past two days. I would only add that it’s particularly humorous that some of the Wexit fanatics around here imagine that the United States (regardless of whose in office) will give them a better deal than the Ottawa LPC.
Thank you.
I grew up in Maine and I miss the days when border security was “How ya doin’, Ed?” “Another day, another 50 cent.” “OK, make it a good one.” “You too, bye.” The paper mill in Madawaska extended over the St. John river border and forklifts and workers went back and forth every day. We had two countries, two different countries, but we lived together peacefully because both countries’ stupid bureaucrats had to have urinating contests with each other. That customs guy is probably still a nice guy – if grumpier than he used to be – but he is forced to examine “Ed” with as much attention as someone whose wife is wrapped in sheets (so much for women’s rights). So naturally, he examines them both the same – by going through the motions.
I also miss the countries’ two currencies being at about par. Now that you have a central banker running the place and have elected a globalist government, I’m sure they will devalue the American dollar so that we finally drop lower than you. Our fault for our last globalist government we had that sabotaged us by going nuts with the printing presses.
I pray God somehow works it so we can restore the almost unique relationship we had for so many decades.
Trump has no desire to take over Canada.
This has always been about the trade agreement that is up for
review this year.
Concur
Trump doesn’t need to annex even one square yard of Canada to get what he wants, he just has to convince the western provinces they have an easier pathway to get the oil to market by going to the US rather than wait for Ottawa and Quebec to grant leave with a healthy wealth transfer in the process.
How hard will that be with the cosplay conservative Carney needing the votes of those seven NDP MP’s?
This is starting to look like the election Paul Martin won in 2006.
Martin goes to the polls in 2006 on the “I’m not the last leader and I’m fiscally conservative but socially progressive”
Then gets stuck having to let the NDP write his budget and destroy his fiscal conservative claim.
The new wrinkle this time is the conservatives may get a new leader before that.
We’ll see
Agreed.
Amongst the carnage of last’s nights wreckage was the silver lining.
The ENDP will resurrect itself for the next election. They slavishly left Meethead alone to incompetently lead the party down the rabbit hole of defeat.
Will the ENDP align again with the Liberals? Will they learn from the failure of this strategy, that TWICE has resulted in electoral destruction for them? Once in the 70s with T1, and now with T2, both times did not result in an outcome that was good for the ENDP.
If they get their sht together, the next election will be a stronger showing for the Dips at the expense of the Fibs.
I’m in a strong ENDP riding, or at least used to be. Been ENDP since Keith Martin was a Reform/Alliance/Liberal MP. Yes, a turncoat. Anyways, they just turned on the ENDP en masse to elect an ENDP Albertan import MacLean, a Have Notley minister. Incredible. The ENDP candidate is a local mayor, well known in ENDP circles. Very socialist. Didn’t matter. Victoria, as ENDP as it comes, turned their back on Collins and chose a Liberal miscreant lawyer, and it wasn’t even close.
This country is living in illusions and delusions. The sheep are following. The expectations are entitlement and smugness. The fall will be grand!
Hope your finances are in order. I’m ready. PMs (shiny stuff) are essential to protect yourself. Because they are coming after all of us, even the dummies lulled into selecting the PM from the EU.
“Trump has no desire to take over Canada.

Always…and anyone capable of analyzing the situation sans emotion could easily see that.
The Liberals, with the help of their media toadies, played most Canadians for suckers with their insistence that this was about “our sovereignty” and “fighting for Canada”. They used to sneer at Americans for their patriotism, but suddenly did a complete 180 and embraced the same enthusiastic love for their country as the US. Our ‘conservative’ party decided to just ‘go with the flow’, to predictable (and disastrous) results.
Enjoy the decline.
Fight for a non-existent sovereignty. The Turd handed that all over to the UN, WEF and WHO.
Yes. A very good analysis. Too bad PP didn’t understand this.

The Wexit talk is wearisome.
You People are outnumbered by the commies.
Not as badly as here in Ontariowe, but…
And then you have to overcome Liberals in Ottawa who are as nasty as they say everyone else is, and then some.
The Banskter will fck you over dry.
I am amazed, really. It seems I have no idea what the f- is up with people these days.
The City of Toronto, ground zero for everything that is f-ed in Canada, suffering from record crime, record taxes, record business defaults, a housing market crash and utter unaffordability of life… just voted for more of it.
75% Liberal.
Okay then, I guess. Enjoy the record crime and record taxes.
This is excellent news. The radical communist minions of the Crown will now accelerate Canada’s decline thereby hastening its ultimate demise. Then the healing can begin. Then Canada can re-incorporate into a true democratic Republic free from its elite globalist Ruling Class.
Or become another Venezuela. I prefer your analogy but expect mine to happen.
It’s time westerners. The Libs plus dips are still in charge, there will be no spending cuts, no pipelines and a continuation of bill c-69. These are not nearly as bad as what is coming. Carney is a bureaucrat-banker, both those animals look for untapped pools of money to control and shape the landscape to suit. There are only two left in Canada. Home equity and the CPP. Carney will quickly move to take over investment of the CPP, de facto or de jure. Expect uneconomic investments in alternative energy, EV’s and other such nonsense which you will pay for. Alberta needs and Saskatchewan should move to leave the CPP, and get your money away from Carney’s clutches.
Seek solace from the Scriptures:
13:8
“Jesus Christ. The same yesterday, and today, and for ever.”
Hebrews 13:8 (KJV)
Yep.
“Stand by the roads, and look,
and ask for the ancient paths,
where the good way is; and walk in it,
and find rest for your souls.
But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’
I set watchmen over you, saying,
‘Give heed to the sound of the trumpet!’
But they said, ‘We will not give heed.’”
Jeremiah 6:16-17
love it!
YESHAYAHU – ISAIAH 66:4
4 I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their
fears upon them; because when I called, no one did
answer; when I spoke, they did not hear: but they did evil
before My eyes, and chose that in which I did not delight
Yes!
Grammy, thank you, thank you, thank you for leaving Nova Scotia.
The gov’t of Canada and the intergenerational eastern welfare dependencies will opt for “Fix-It” and they’ll talk of how the proposals will be discussed at the “highest levels” … even while they know their intention is to draw out any negotiation for decades.
These governments have had decades to repair the garbage constitution we’re stuck with, and have been content to rule over us knowing they’ll never want to change any of it.
Why would the western provinces want to stay in a confederation stuck with a garbage constitution that can’t be changed while the east has their thumb on the scale?
We’re far better off separating first, and negotiating trade deals later.
Eff trade deals, with the huge consumer market in the US opened to you, why would you want to sell things to the diseased rump of Canada who can only pay in $0.20 USD Turd Pesos?
So when does the adult discussion begin?
What kind of Nation do decent hardworking citizens want?
How do we eliminate or at least reduce the behaviour that has destroyed Canada.
Is Government Run Society even workable?
Who shall rule?
What kind of constitution shall we embrace?
Can we write one better than that of the USA?
Will we continue to tolerate two tier citizenship and the Canadian Apartheid System?
How do we prevent repeating the same idiocies that have left Canada, viciously divided, bankrupt and retarded?
Can we create a nation that most of us can embrace, support and make flourish?
Or will we repeat the Confederated Kleptocracy of Canada ,just on a smaller scale?
Some things are so basic, that we gloss over them.
But these basics are the foundation of civilization.
Lest we forget.
Built on foundations of sand, nothing will stand.
Acceptance of lies,destroys all trust.
Why do our Eastern Comrades reward lying?
Who cares anymore?
They have made their choices.
And stated their intention to keep on limiting ours.
The old relationship is over and a new brighter one is just beginning for some.
So long and thanks for all the fish.
One way to get the attention of Ontario and Quebec is to stop sending them money. If Ontario and Quebec are have not provinces, how can they afford high speed trains to replace their already cushy commuter trains? Here in Saskatchewan we can’t afford passenger trains at all, maybe because we send too much in transfer payments back east. We don’t have to separate, much less join the US. But we can stop supporting Uppity Canada’s lavish tastes as they look down their noses at us.
