Maryland Man

Choose your hard;

It feels like just yesterday that the left was braying about alleged members of the Venezuelan transnational gang Tren de Aragua being sent to El Salvador’s CECOT mega-prisons as part of their deportation. That’s because, more or less, it was yesterday.

However, over the next few weeks, we might see the same leftists braying a different tune — this time involving the fact that they aren’t being deported via CECOT but might be spending the next few decades in federal prison.

  1. I think the CECOT prisons in El Salvador are the ideal way of dealing with the obvious problem of having 1000’s of people no longer caring if they’re sentenced to short bits in prisons here or the USA.
    The absence of high protein meals and being given nothing but time to figure out how they’ve gotten to a position in life where they only have years of not doing anything at all may focus their thoughts as well.

    and it appears to be cost effective, what’s not to like?
    I’m counting myself as a supporter of CECOT.

    1. Arresting Democrat voters will never be popular with the right-thinking, tolerant half of US citizens. These are hard working, entrepreneurial future Americans with a non-traditional lifestyle that should not subject them to discrimination, much less incarceration.

    2. Cost effectiveness is a tool well used by Socialists against fiscal conservatives. Making any social issue you don’t like (incarceration, deportation, capital punishment, etc) so expensive that conservatives will consider alternatives has given desired results for socialists. Fighting this attacks the fiscal well-being of the legal industry, a formable opponent.

  2. Regarding Maryland Man, I read last night that the withholding order preventing him from being deported to El Salvador doesn’t even reference “El Salvador” within the final direction of the order. Even the Conclusion of that 2019 judgement (which precedes the order) doesn’t reference El Salvador. It does reference Guatemala where his family is currently living. Did the judge make a mistake? Because deporting him back to a prison in El Salvador will not put his family in jeopardy if they no longer even live there.

    I guess it doesn’t matter because the Democrats aren’t getting any traction with this story. They are now onto the Pope and how MAGA supporters are happy he’s dead and that when alive the Pope referred to Trump as a Hitler in waiting (yes the Pope used the H-word).

  3. from the link,
