  1. Attempting to give consumers a better deal on a few dozen eggs in Canada is a political crime and will likely result in another multi-year show trial followed by a sentence greater than that of a convicted partially indigenous repeat murderer.

    1. It could have been worse. He could have posted a mean tweet in which someone was “misgendered”.

    2. I agree with your post BUT I no longer refer to them as Indigenous. As long as they refer to us white folk as colonialists in a negative and condescending manner then I will continue to refer to them as INDIANS.

      1. One hundred thumbs up.

And July 1 has become dominion day to me once again, along with the old flag.

  2. So … your government has enacted a defacto tariff on eggs? Artificially inflating the price of eggs in Alberta.

Good to know. But remember … Orangemanbad BAD!!!

    1. The Egg Cartel, much like the Milk Cartel is canada wide under the euphemism “Supply Management” as yet another bad idea of Trudeau.

      1. This existed before Trudeau and has truly served its purpose, our eggs are quite low cost compared to lots of nations and a standardized production, processing and distribution has helped keep critical food product prices stable.

I do wish we could purchase whole milk off the shelf and have to make my own now understanding the risks (and benefits).

Much more effective than USDA PLC program which is truly subsidizing farms across that part below the 49th.

  3. Assault chickens must be banned.

Never wonder why the Soviet Union was famed for its bread lines.

    1. They had fully automatic weapons, and he had a chicken. Certainly the danger to officers is obvious?

  4. If it was legal to recommend, I’d recommend Lindsey —– — —- — of every single —– ——.
    But it isn’t legal, so I won’t.

As for the RCMPigs, they’ve had the shit shot out of them too many times to count so now everybody gets the Kill-your-dog-for-starters treatment.
I’m really surprised they didn’t go all Toronto Popo and just execute him.

Next up, the punishment of the legal system where the bitch of justice holds a hammer, not a scale.

  5. Just because the government authorized it, doesn’t make it any less of a cartel that conspires against it’s customers.

  6. A couple of weeks ago I said that protesting government policies is the biggest crime in Canada. I guess opposing politically connected corporate cartels and government cartels will be the second biggest crime.

I think there’s a name for the type of government where politicians and corporations work together for mutual profit and suppress the rights of the citizens who interfere with this political arrangement. Meanwhile, violent career criminals in Canada have more rights than their victims.

Given the wacky decisions of Canada’s supreme court there’s almost no way to change the legal system to protect civil rights and victim’s rights. Only a independent country could create a better, fairer legal and justice system.

  7. I wish the article at WS had contained more info about the actual arrest. When the RCMP busted the guy in Manitoba about 20 years back for selling wheat outside the marketing board, they arrived at 2AM with a SWAT team, bashed in his house door and forced the guy and his elderly parents to lie face down on the floor while they were cuffed.
What time was this egg farmer arrested, 3AM? 9 AM? Did the ERT attend?
F***ing communist country we live in. The Premier should override the egg board and order the RCMP to stand down from such thuggery.

  8. Psssst…the calls are coming from inside the house.
Just spitballin’ here but is it possible there are people in Alberta who hate Albertans as much as Eastern Canada?

    1. Don’t tell your family and neighbors what you’re doing. Too many loose lips….

    2. is it possible there are people in Alberta who hate Albertans as much as Eastern Canada?

Yes. They live in such regions as both my provincial and federal ridings here in Edmonton. Hard-core Dippers.

    3. Oh no, you don’t say! Albertans who are perfectly happy with how the system works as long as it seems to be working for them? Never!
Canada Strong and Free! after all.

At some point, you’re going to have to come to the realization that you’ve been sold out for a long time and as to who sold you out, well, looking in a mirror will work for quite a few.
Everybody gets to take their medicine. We’ve had about….30 years of it nearly continuously (with a 4 year reprieve) to find out what a bunch of stupid ____s we are; now it’s your turn.

  9. I work for an accounting firm. One client I had was a cattle feed company with a research office and separate research farm. (The farm tour is not for queasy stomachs). They were audited by CRA and it happened that one of the auditors parents had a farm with a milk quota. He ranted a few times about how it was terrible that this research farm was able to sell milk because they had an R&D quota. My point being this guy was probably ratted out by a neighbour with a quota

    1. Probably. In my area, bootleg eggs are easy to buy and much better quality than grocery store eggs. I was remarking to a relative that I wondered if the amount of bootleg eggs was affecting egg sales at the grocery store. If the police are being used to swarm and arrest non-quota egg producers then the answer must be yes.

There is no reason to continue with egg marketing boards. Marketing boards for eggs only raise prices while decreasing choices and quality. People all over the world eat eggs without government regulations, Canadians should be allowed to as well.

  10. So, take your hens and divide them up for investor groups (trusted relatives). 299 in each group leased by non-active participants who get a limited amount of free eggs throughout the year as compensation for their signatures on a sheet of paper. Charge them one single dollar for caretaking and space.

No one owns more than 300 hens. No quota applies…cost of the limited free eggs is less than the costs associated with the EFA….and you are free to turn your Hen Co-op into a large operation without government involvement provided you have a lot of friends and family you trust.

  11. I’m going to go out on a limb here, and suggest that in future the farmers who need to “step outside the quota system” so to speak, should get some ‘foreign students’ to sell that illegal produce. Know what I’m saying?

A few flats could mysteriously appear at a local market, and quietly be sold for cash by recent arrivals. You could get a whole little empire set up like that, and the cops would never touch it.

Works for milk and butter too. All those restaurants making Indian sweets for Diwali? You could move a ton of off-quota product to those guys, just give ’em a little “five finger” discount.

Or, more likely, they’ve been doing it for years already, it’s a multi-multi-million-dollar scam the same as tobacco smuggling, and the authorities know allll about it, and they have done nothing. Optics, you know. It’s racist to arrest crooked immigrants.

But let a White guy try to move some eggs? No, we can’t have that. Hammer time, baby. Five cop cars worth of po-po. He’s lucky they didn’t light him up like Rodger Kotanko.

I f-ing hate this place sometimes. I really do.

    1. Imagine being the cop that has to bust the guy for… selling eggs. Do you go in, guns drawn, shouting “I am the Walrus!”

  12. What’s the surprise, farmers went to prison for selling wheat across the border into the states in the 80s. You must sell to the CWB until harper ended it.

  13. I think I read a year or two ago that the Alberta government’s contract with the Feds calls for a fixed, specific number of RCMP officers to be provided to operate in Alberta for a fixed price, but that there is a shortage of about 400 officers because the RCMP like most police forces has big-time recruitment problems. That would make it even more ridiculous to send 5 cars, probably with at least 2 guys per car to arrest an egg producer.
I also believe Alberta still has to pay the Feds the full contract amount even though the force is not at full compliment.

  14. O.P.M is in short supply.
So who would you choose if you were a “Respectable Member of The Just Us System”?
Gang Bangers don’t have any money.
An Egg Farmer has assets and family, who will all spend money, within the Just Us System, to defend those assets..
The whole Alberta Provincial Justice System needs overhauled, preferably with pointy tools of pain.
For “Justice” has long been forgotten.
The Just Us Bureau and the Lords of Kleptocracy, now these thugs have been well served and protected.
When it comes to entitled parasites, dependant upon Other Peoples Money, there is no floor for “How Low are you willing to go?”
The Coutts Four perfectly demonstrated how deep the rot is.
Only a Not See could pretend not to know.

  15. Eggs are becoming quite the black market item.. We need responsible chicken control before bacon becomes a problem..
