Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Dude, that was when Frampton was channeling David Cassidy on brown acid with a device better used by Joe Walsh on Rocky Mountain Way.
Frampton was best as back up in Humble Pie, with Steve Marriot doing the adult lifting.
That said, the dude got pension with Frampton Comes Alive.
Frampton and Marriott were essentially the Lennon and McCartney of their Humble Pie era. One partner preferring melody and “accessible” music while their partner is an edgy, hard(er) rock muse. Frampton comes alive is the “Wings” era of Peter Frampton… although Wings was a much better band with Jimmy McCulloch on guitar … but I’ll take the David Cassidy on brown acid (made me LOL).
Sorry … but I always considered Frampton Comes Alive as “chick music” … not that there’s anything wrong with that … sometimes you had to put that vinyl on the tt … just to loosen the panties.
Here’s a good example of how the two different musical sensibilities found peace and harmony in one tune. Frampton playing his sweet melodic phrases while Marriott provides the hard driving edge … all in one superb song.

And OMG! The tone of that Slovation guitar! My ears! My ears! That plastic tone! Please stop!
But make no mistake, I am a huge Frampton fan. He is a superb guitarist … and I believe a really nice bloke.
Kenji, Frampton dropped an album in 2019 called “All Blues,” which won me new respect. He even does a tune with Steve Vai.
I always liked him, but I agree with you on his “wings” phase. And, yes, the girls liked him.
Do you remember Frampton’s Camel?
As for Ovation git boxes, I had one and grew to hate it, mainly because of the rounded plastic back and bad tone. I am am happy to have my beloved Martin D16 these latter days.
Yeah, I had an ovation too … probably because of Cat Stevens … until I discovered that MOST of that Cat Stevens sound was coming from Alun Davies and his d-28. Yeah … Alun’s melodic fills and flat picked lead pretty much MAKE this tune … and the tone is pure Martin.

I’ve never touched a d-16 … a smaller dreadnought? Oh yeah, Frampton’s Camel … memory holed
One Hair Wonder.
Released in 1973 “Do You Feel Like I Do?”

1976?
“Do You Feel Like I Do?”
I correct myself. I bought “Frampton Comes Alive” just after it was released in 1976. I bought a $700 plus stereo a year or two after I was married in 1974 so I knew 1973 was wrong. What I didn’t know was the song was first released on Frampton’s Camel in 1973.
Don’t bogart that joint my friend…
10. January 1976 …
I was 15 then, and there was a time when some folks would play all 4 sides to *that album back to back at parties and nobody complained (there was 1 party I went to where the only record they had was Elton John’s “Philadelphia Freedom” and had apparently been playing it over and over anyways I left after hearing this and I can’t explain of how high these people may have been, I don’t think I took my shoes off)
There’s no shortage of Frampton videos or versions of his songs… from Oakland where much/all? of the “Comes Alive” recording was originally done. and Rick Beato’s interview of Frampton is good too, and with the same terrific Gibson guitar.

Please, what better live album was there before Frampton Comes Alive?
We wore this out getting ready for school.
To this aficionado of live albums, definitely top five.
