  1. I don’t know how to stress this even more. Barring any cheating which is a possibility, Carney isn’t going to win. And there isn’t a gap that’s narrowing.
Polls are there to gaslight the stupid among us.

    1. I agree, I haven’t seen or heard of anything locally that would support the nonsense of Carney getting massive support, instantly after getting announced.

The riding elected either libs or dippers for years, but no campaign signs for anyone other than the Conservative candidate.

  2. What about those of us who “hope” the #Libranos win as we think that’ll be the end of Canada while the west separates?
What about those of us who “fear” the Conservatives win as we think that’ll be the end of the movement for separation from tier 2 Canada?

    1. Those are all valid points, I hate the Libranos, so I want them to lose, but if it ends this shit show, good. The polls are easy to explain, sheep’s natural state is fear so they take comfort in it. This is easily the sheepiest nation on earth.

    2. Voting for acceleration is usually never a good idea as it hardly ever works.

If Carney wins the timeline speeds up; if Pollievre wins it is slowed down and maybe, possibly, perhaps shifts slightly in a new direction.

So vote for who you think can 1) win; 2) best represent your interests (or at least not be horrid) and see what happens.
But word to the wise: you need to stop playing Red Team/Blue Team. It’s gotten you where you are today and there are plenty of examples of how it’s worked out (badly) in other countries.

      1. “If Carney wins the timeline speeds up; ”

        Yes.

“if Pollievre wins it is slowed down and maybe, possibly, perhaps shifts slightly in a new direction.”

And just drags out the inevitable. I have very little faith in him now, given his past statements and actions.

        1. Yes, I am not sure there is anyone who could resurrect this corpse, so done is it. It is a sign of how a life has been lived, who mourns? Who would mourn Canada? No one under 50, I’ll wager, and those over who do, are the type who are so imbecilic, or drunk, or childish they haven’t noticed what they mourn is dead.

        2. Still better than Carney (if I was Canadian).

Consider that you are where the U.S. was at in 2012, except you are not a super power and the advantages that can come from that (nor do you have the same sort of government nor a Bill of Rights, those are very important).

Vote however you wish though. On a humane level I do wish you well.

      2. Jane…
I checked in my riding of Calgary Nose Hill, the Conservative candidates have won with 60-70% of the votes going back to the mid 1980’s, a couple of elections when the Conservative vote was split by “Alliance” and “Reform” right wing parties, that vote dipped to the 50% range but was still double the next closest candidates.

Michelle Remple-Garner and possibly my favorite ever, Diane Ablonczy have represented from here… (born in Peoria Illinois)

There is a Rhino Party candidate as well this year, normally they ridicule everything equally and try to be funny, however this one is quite forward about the trans people, and abortion. She says they’re not to be taken seriously, but they’re as serious about these topics as the NDP or #Libranos could ever be.

She’ll take a few hundred votes away from the leftist parties…
There’s no real acceleration available here… Michelle will win

  3. Fear wins over hope nowadays. In times past, hope won, but this is a different world and there are no Churchills.
The debates will be much more important this time around.
Will they have closed captioning for tonight’s all important “Quebec-First” debate?

My school training in French was taught by people whose first language was Ukrainian.

  4. Does:
    Proof of failure (Left)
    beat
    Lack of Substance (Right)

The answer is, yes…it does. Because a vast majority of voters/politicians on the Left don’t recognize, own, or understand their failure (nor even care about it in most cases). While a vast majority of voters/politicians on the right are apathetic, indifferent, and lazy. The inability to communicate on the Right in Canada misses the opportunity to educate, motivate, and persuade. (present company excluded)

    1. “The inability to communicate on the Right in Canada misses the opportunity to educate, motivate, and persuade.”

Yes, if only Canada had someone with the intestinal fortitude to stand up and say “These are my policies. They are better for Canada than the Liberal polices. And HERE IS WHY: ”

But no…everyone is too afraid of the Liberal-leaning news media jumping on them and skewing their message. Cowards, all of them…

      1. Maxine Bernier isn’t afraid and has the intestinal fortitude to shout his policies and he has valid arguments. I just watched his Tucker Carlson interview, it was informative and entertaining because he’s got a good sense of humour. Whoda thunk it?

        1. “Maxine Bernier isn’t afraid and has the intestinal fortitude to shout his policies and he has valid arguments”

          That’s why I vote PPC.

      2. Well, we did have a great PM in Stephen Harper, but the media managed to kill him off because he was “too stern, too severe, etc.”

  5. An old politician I knew had a great response to the polls during an election.
    Polls are for dogs.

  6. I refuse to bite my cheek and have had it with smug liberal women sneering in contempt, one almost spit on me in outrage when she saw my Conservative sign. They wanna dish out their Trump hatred have at it you unhinged fools, but I told my husband I will not take their abuse anymore. Anger seems to be the glue that keeps the liberals together, nail polish remover might work right?

  7. There’s some interesting parallels between this election and the 2007 election in Saskatchewan. The socialist NDP had a stranglehold on the province for 16 years. The population was decreasing for years because young people and young families simply left since there wasn’t any opportunities or growth in the province . Healthcare was a mess. The economy was weak. Despite that, many voters were scared of change.

Brad Wall’s Saskatchewan Party won and his election night victory speech was that Saskatchewan voters chose Hope instead of Fear. Here is his speech about Hope beats Fear (4 minutes):

  8. Carney’s Liberal racist Party will be the end of canada, which is a shame, but people want to end this genocidal, settler colonial racist backwater, it’s what they voted for three times.

    1. “Carney’s Liberal racist Party will be the end of canada, which is a shame, but people want to end this genocidal, settler colonial racist backwater, it’s what they voted for three times.”

Yup. Sad that it has come to that, but it’s undeniable.

  9. ‘fear’ and ‘Liberal’ in the same sentence SHOULD imply we ‘fear’ what the ‘Liberals’ plan on doing to the nation currently on life support; the surgeon demanding ‘one more chance’ to treat the patient that THEY put in this state (pun intended).
‘as God in my witness’ and ‘try as l may’ for 2 decades plus, l *cannot* comprehend or fathom why why why so many Canuckistanis
    keep
    voting
    accursed
    LIBERAL.
the only quasi ‘rational’ explanation is the one lve forwarded previously, to whit,
‘propaganda works’. and generating lots of fear is the result of said propaganda.
and consistent with the claim with Liberals, its a case of ‘anything for power’.

  10. If I’m going to hope for something from the government, its less government.
    A lot fcking less.
If I’m going to fear anything, its more government.

But if you fear the American government (and over the Chinese government?!) you should be lobotomized.
Or even better – be given MAID ASAP.

  11. And not a single one of you has decided to organise the ONE THING that ends the bullshit: tax and mortgage payment boycott. The end.
