My 89 year old mother went into a nursing home about this time. Her three remaining children had a plan to visit 4 to 6 times a week to help her acclimatize. A week later the lockdown came into effect. Needless to say visiting through a window did nothing positive for her. She died 6 months later.
The lockdowns contributed to her demise.

I travelled a lot back then as I had family business to attend to. For the first few weeks, before wearing face diapers became mandatory, airport check-in security were actually pleasant to deal with. The staff were cheerful and respectful, which was a nice change.
Then came the mandatory “do it or else!” rules. Airport check-ins became even more horrible than before the phony plague. Airline staff were often abusive, even if one legitimately questioned something. Airport security staff loved being rude and snarky and they became even more intrusive. (One agent went so far as to checking through my wallet–for my own safety, of course. If she’d gone any further, I would have sued her for invasion of privacy and attempted identity theft.)
I’ve got more similar stories, but I think you get the picture.
It was simply an excuse to allow people to do their worst to their fellow man and get away with it–all for our own good, you see.

One person who stood out for me was an employee at a dental office. When I was wrapping up my affairs at the main desk, I did so maskless.
The young lady in question stormed up to me and barked that I should put on a mask. There were signs all over the place warning me to do so, but, since I was finishing things up, I didn’t bother for the few minutes that it would have taken me to take care of business. But, now that I had been reprimanded, I dug out my old grubby shop dust mask and, as I was putting it on, I simply stated that the requirement was based on a scientific fallacy.
That’s when she blew a head gasket and started screaming at me….. in a dental office….. in public….. to a client. Equally appalling was that she behaved that way to someone old enough to be her grandfather. (When I was her age, had I behaved that way, I would have been taken outside and pounded into pemmican. But, that was 50 years ago.) She behaved even worse when I reminded her that she was not only rude but unprofessional, but she turned it around to make me the one who was the miscreant, even though I had, by then, put on my face diaper.
I very nearly filed a complaint about her to the management, but, as I was returning to that clinic after several years, it might not have helped my reputation and any future dealings. She was gone by the time I came back several months later.
One of two key indicators for me that it was all an overblown scam is that people were allowed to pull down their masks and eat on planes.
The other was when health care “professionals” insisted that huge BLM protests were entirely fine, because “racism is a bigger risk to society”. And Fauci refused to condemn this nonsense.
Airport security staff are still abusive, and arrogant, based on my recent experience on WestJet flying home from Ottawa.
And our airlines are pitiful. It shouldn’t take you two days to fly from Montreal to Regina, even under the worst of circumstances… and the delays had NOTHING to do with the weather! They even lost my luggage, and threatened to arrest me if I complained about it too loudly.

Dems in the US were critical of Trump’s talk of travel bans and were inviting visitors/tourists to their cities. i thought the lockdown would be the start of reasonable caution. I soon saw the lockdown was excessive and was just further bungling. It took until the end of the year for me to realize the governments and media were deliberately lying to us. And another year (Freedom Convoy) to realize they hate us.
The “Lockdown” was an exercise in State Terrorism.

I went to stock up on groceries with my dil as they were saying to limit your amount of times at grocery stores, and more so because I hated dealing with the arrows, six foot distances, face masks, etc. so we both had a cart full. We actually weren’t suppose to be travelling together as we didn’t live in the same household. While we were in the store one of the clerks screamed at an older man as he’d been at the store I guess a few times that week. Told him that was not allowed. Then when we got to the till there were comments that we had bought too many groceries. At that point I began to suspect that we were truly screwed.
I made the mistake once of loading my groceries onto the belt before the woman ahead of me had completed checked out. OMG! I was ORDERED to STAND BACK while the checker sanitized everything around my food.

I remember going to Costco and after waiting in a line that extended around the building my wife and I did our shopping. As we approached the cash area and started to unload our cart a masked employee wearing latex gloves stopped us and said, ‘I’ll do that.”
Apparently there was a risk of catching or spreading Covid by touching packages. What was particularly amusing was the fact that the employee wore the same gloves as unloaded cart after cart. I wanted to say, “If you’re concerned about catching or spreading germs you should change your gloves every time you unload a new cart.”
I also recall seeing stories about people wiping down everything they bought with sanitizer when they got home. The stupidity.
Aside from the tyrannical, maniacal, and sociopathic government, the worst part for me was watching an entire citizenry lose their minds. One person after another, losing grip with reality, and succumbing to their programming. I never felt more depressed about humanity’s future than I did at that point.
It has left me scarred as I now know how much of a threat our neighbors are to our freedoms.

Tuesday before the lockdowns I had a stroke and was rushed to the hospital at 3:00am. Thanks to my dog who woke up my wife, I was there quickly and got drugs to bust the clot. By Thursday I was able to walk with a walker and use the bathroom and initially there was talk about sending me off for rehab. My wife knew exactly what was coming and bless her, she insisted on getting me home. I went home Friday morning after a lot of fuss by an extremely reluctant OT and PT to be sure she could manage. The lockdowns began Sunday. For an entire month we had no contact of any kind with anything in health care. My wife had to care for me at home. Our neighbour who is a retired nurse from across the street violated the lockdown to come over and check on me. It was a full month before the province of Manitoba set up a way for doctors to do telephone care. Meanwhile, there was no OT or PT so my daughter and my wife created a therapy program for me at home. My wife and daughter found an at home computer device call FitMe and Magic Glove which allowed me to do my therapy at home and recover from my stroke and get the use of my hand back and be able to walk again.
I was finally able to get in to see my doctor two months after the lockdown. My wife drove me there, helped me into the office. They tried to kick her out and make her wait in the truck. Eventually, after much arguing she was allowed to remain but she had to sit six feet away from me in the waiting room. We had another argument because the washroom was closed and I had to pee. I was very lucky my wife took me home. Absolutely no thanks of any kind to the lunacy imposed by public health. It was the stupidest, meanest, most idiotic situation that could possibly have come up for a stroke victim. I shudder to think where I would be today if my wife had let them send me to a rehab hospital. I would probably be dead now.
Pubic health people who did this to me belong in jail. There was no excuse.

The surgeon Dr. Estifanos Debru ignored that didn’t show him that and murdered him anyways.

I was in Myrtle Beach, SC on a vacation with my sister who worked in healthcare. We both thought something was ‘off’.

That’s the mask I wore the very few times I chose to wear a mask. I wore it to see my doctor. Her license was at risk if I didn’t wear one and she is a doctor I value. Before the mask mandates, she was the one that informed me that masks didn’t work, something I subsequently verified through my own research and confirmed by DR. FauXi on national network TV on March 20, 2020.
I wore it a few times because I wanted to get into restaurants. Once seated, off it came, and I’d walk out maskless after dinner. What were they going to do, throw me out?
I kept waiting for someone to challenge my hole-riddled mask, but no one did. It seems the Mask Nazis mandated masks but never specified mesh sizes. I read several edicts and nowhere within them was the mesh size specified. Idiots! My mask was fully compliant. It covered my nose and mouth, but with a mesh size I was comfortable with. [*grin*]

During the height of the hysteria I bought a pup from this rounder who lived a coupla hours north of me. I wanted to see the pups and pick one when they were 5 weeks a old. He was a guy who lived by his own rules. Could care less if there was a lock down. We arranged to meet at his place on a Saturday and I drove up. I was on a secondary normally busy paved highway. In 2 hours of driving I never caught up to another vehicle nor did one pass me. I met 1 oncoming pickup who was probably a guy going to check cows. It was surreal.
I ended up with a nice pup tho.

My daughter moved to Canada with her Canadian husband and toddler child in May 2021. They were locked in their apartment for 2 weeks despite having had the the covid “vaccine”( to make it easier to move to Canada) and testing negative on crossing. Locked inside- as in not allowed out out all- and people would call them .I refused to take the jab and therefore could not travel to Canada until October 22 so did not get to meet the new grandchild until he was 6 months old.And yes her husband has a major chip on his shoulder about the US, although it did not keep him from going to grad school in the US .I was shocked by all the BS they put up with to go shopping etc.

Ah yes, five years ago this month…the beginning of 6 months of scrounging for toilet paper, because for some damn reason everyone went berserk over it. Last I checked, Charmin wasn’t a recognized cure for Covid.
By the time my local Costco enacted limits, it was too late. I was fortunate enough to have accidentally kept a decent stock before everyone lost their damn mind, but it was getting very slim by June.
Interestingly enough, the baby wipes stock never got annihilated. Haven’t needed to purchase those in 40+ years, but they were a decent substitute for Charmin.

That was the last week the UK government provided the COVID new case and death rates by age group and “vax” status.

As I explained I put a new mask on before entering hospital she adjusted her mask at least 3 times then grabbed a mask and thrust it towards me. I explained there was no way I was putting on a mask she had touched after touching her mask. If looks could kill I would be dead. A supervisor came out and suggested I could pick up my own mask. I said sure and suggested her buddy should go disinfect her hands and not touch her mask anymore. I couldn’t see the supervisor smile but her eyes sure sparkled.
Oh Yes! All the hands all over masks!! So gross.
I encountered similar bull hockey at a medical building here in Edmonton. People could only come in through one entrance and had to wait in line before going to their respective destinations.
At the end of the line was some pseudo-medical munchkin who did the usual malarkey about taking one’s temperature, issuing a brand-new mask, and washing one’s hand in that infamous liquid.
The first time I went through that, I asked why I had to. The munchkin on duty at the time told me “I’m working for you and working for me.” Uh, no. She wasn’t working for me. I never interviewed her, I never hired hired her, and I certainly wasn’t signing her paycheques. I considered telling her that, but I’m sure that a nearby security guard would have hauled me away for being “disrespectful” or some such thing.
Common sense and logic collectively died during those times, and they haven’t been properly resurrected yet.
Oh! Oh! I was doing a project that required several trips to Home Depot over a period of weeks.
The edict was out, and you could read it while waiting in line to enter, that stores were allowed 1 shopper per ‘X’ square feet of their floor space. Home Depot, Walmart, and other stores dutifully had gatekeepers at the entrance who were counting how many people entered They were in radio contact with people at the exit who would tell them how many people to let in based on how many exited.
I found out how big the average Home Depot was and calculated how many people would be allowed in under the number/sq ft rules.
Guffaws all around! It turns out that, assuming 2 people per vehicle, they would need a parking lot twice the size of what they had to have enough customers in the store to close the doors. They would in all practicality NEVER reach the maximum number of people allowed in at a time.
It turns out that someone at Home Depot also finally did the math and by the end of my project, they had ditched the door counters. Walmart did, too. I guess Walmart figured that they’d only reach the threshold on Black Friday and the 3 days before Christmas.
The pluted bloatocrats of the goobermint never did the math when they made up the number ‘X’ and sent it out to the stores.
Hahahahahaha! What a bunch of maroons! If you’re determined to stick it to the serfs, at least do the math.
A fellow named Joe. A few weeks after the charades began, Joe came to the farm to haul some manure. We distanced, and fist bumped. Went to the farm store where the manager was getting closeup in my space, as I would back away. Rules, y’know.
Back to the farm & Joe. By this point, my BS meter was done with Covid.
Come here Joe, give me a hug. If God wants us dead, bring it on. Joe talked about his faith, & I mine.
Now a decade or so earlier, Joe had been snowmobiling & tumbled down about 1,000 feet of a ridge. Broken jaw, ribs, concussion, couple weeks in hospital, nearly died. He was “simple” after his recovery.
March 14, Joe was snowmobiling. Broke his neck. Doing what he loved, not at work. Even though he loved driving tractor too. What a way to go. Instant.
I’m gonna miss Joe. Lot a people gonna miss Joe.
San Francisco reminds of a large version of Jonestown in Guyana. No surprise, really given that is where Jim Jones hails from. Too bad San Francisco didn’t end up like Jonestown….although that just might be a matter of time.
Was disciplined by my then-employer for being “insufficiently afraid of covid.” We had a programmer who would wind people up — he would tell us that we all had to get our affairs in order, as most of us would be dead in six months. The company was OK with him doing that. But when I said that I was not particularly afraid as I’m in good health, that resulted in an official warning and talking to.
If there’s one Canadian company I want to see destroyed by the tariffs, it’s those bastards. Sadly, I cannot name them with any precision due to the content of an NDA.
Here in Alberta, it was Deena Hinshaw who called the shots and who ensured that our lives were miserable as a result.
To add insult to injury, the University of Alberta named her as one of the outstanding alumni a few years ago. That’s yet another reason why I will never again donate money to my alma mater. (By the way, it’s the same uni that Beverly McLachlin attended.)
Danielle Smith fired both Hinshaw and AHS CEO Verna Yiu (also a U of A alumna). Hinshaw went to work for Bonnie Henry and, the last I heard, Yiu is now a VP at the U of A.
By the time the lockdown began, I knew where the bug came from and knew it was a scam. I never masked, tested, distanced, Vax or boosted, most importantly I did not get sick. The members of the “Trusted News Initiative ” included CBC so obviously everything they said was the exact opposite of truth. I did 3xactly the opposite of all of their advice and did fine. When people put on masks, they showed their real face, cowards and bullies.
I’m curious. Is anyone with “long covid” NOT jabbed?

Maybe this has already happened but somebody should catalogue peoples experiences with covid. Reading the above brought back memories that I’d forgotten.
The tyrant will do this again and worse at some point in the future.
