John Ivison- Canada’s most senior diplomat owes China $1.2 million. He’s vulnerable
When you owe someone more than $1 million, as does Francois-Philippe Champagne at the Bank of China, the potential for influence and abuse is ever-present

Well, if I just read that right, then Frankie is in hock to China, and is now the finance minister who will follow orders.
Off topic, but the Turd loved to embrace small men like Frankie, Seamus, et al.
That kind of behaviour will challenge “long pockets” Carney.
What’s China going to say, “pay up or do X?”
Given the value of the properties, Champagne could sell one, or more likely get a loan from a different bank.
I wish I was important enough to owe China 1.2 million.. I have everything I need.. Almost.. But I don’t have you!! :)…
Hahaha ha ha ha … but, but, but … Russia OWNS Trump. Hahahaha ha ha ha ha
RE: Conservative Sen. Mike Duffy
‘It was later learned in May 2013 through the media that the source of this money was a personal cheque (for $90,000) provided by Nigel Wright, who was then Chief of Staff in the Prime(Stephen Harper) Minister’s Office.’
… my, my how different things are when the shoe is on the other foot!
… and I might add across the aisle.
At least Duffy’s was a domestic loan within the same party.
Our Finance Minstrel is $1Million in the hole.
How fitting!
How emblematic of this country!
One might ask why he couldn’t get a loan from a Canadian bank that has operations in the UK, like Bank of Montreal, or TD bank, or Royal Bank of Canada…
Unless the point was to compromise him using the Money part of MICE (Money, Ideology, Compromise and Ego).
Also, that puts him on the list, because he’s not useful if he’s not elected.
That is was written June 12, 2020. Why post this now?
“Prime Minister Mark Carney selected Champagne to be finance minister after taking office in 2025” – might have something to do with it.
It appears as of 2024 he no longer owes the money to China https://prciec-rpccie.parl.gc.ca/EN/PublicRegistries/Pages/Declaration.aspx?DeclarationID=ff54269f-2794-43e2-b728-43b5805a998e
Frankie should soon be unemployed and will be forced to liquidate.
“Ha ha ha, what’s NOT to get?
You don’t repay the loan.”

Wow it seems the liberal party has way to many ties to communist China, not liking this atall.
