  2. I think Carney has mentioned joining the European Union… just in case you didn’t think you’re governed enough already.

    When’s the federal election?
    When is the AB/Sask. separation referendum?

    2. An outrageous idea ( joining the EU). A complete betrayal of our country. But would not surprise me if he actually said it. Carney is dangerous.

        2. I heard somewhere that a poll suggested (please note my words, in particular the word “suggested”) that about half of the Canadian population would favor joining the EU.

          1. I also read a letter in the Globe suggesting this. I think at the heart of Canadian ” identity” is deeply embedded anti- Americanism. Canadians do not value sovereignty. They are happy to sign on to every last misguided international agreement and join the EU, so long as they can affirm their separation from the US. This is foolish. It will backfire. I think the future will bring new global alignments. I can see Western Provinces aligning with the US, but Eastern Provinces, especially Quebec are die hard Euroweenies.

      2. Britons were promised that Britain would regain control of her borders—finally making it possible to send the scum of Pakistan and Bangladesh back where they came from.

        Unfortunately, the people who made those promises had no intention of securing the Irish border. Their feeble excuse was that border posts would be targets for the IRA.

        Never mind that even a British army that’s a shadow of its former self could have overthrown the globalist government of southern Ireland in a day. The southern Irish army barely exists, and their UN “peacekeeping” operation in Lebanon is a joke.

        Like Britain, the US has a land border with a vassal of enemies of the nation. Unlike the British, Trump won’t be afraid to fix that little problem.

      Their Bots have been calling Conservatives MAGA’s for quite some time.

      Ford will double down on stupid, continue his Red Tory ways and bankrupt a few Chinese Buffets in between wide angle lens photo ops.

        As for 3F, his ambition is to be a PM. So if Poilievre loses he will run for the Conservative leadership. If Carnage loses … that’s right, you heard it here first … he will run for the Librano leadership.

    Meanwhile, us common folk down here in the US of A would welcome ya’ll in the western provinces to come join us. Think about it, take your time, don’t rush. But after you’ve been ignored, kicked around, and abused to the point where you just can’t tolerate it anymore…

  8. There is silver lining behind this collectivist cloud of power lusting, parasitism and partisan paralysis.
    Carney today indicated arrogantly there would be an election “by November.”
    Which is solid evidence if not proof of his lack of political acumen, cowardice or both.
    This is the time to strike the iron with TDS at a fever pitch, Canadians unable to be reasoned with at this time.
    But as time goes by, Carney’s unelected lustre wears off, which might imperil his hope for a Halifax byelection seat.
    Additionally, the Ukraine war could be winding down or over, and Canadians’ TDS worn down by reality.
    Add that he will require NDP support, so both untrustworthy Carney and Singh can have their credibility shattered.
    Not to mention Grits being Grits, with more big government moves and ideological incompetence confirmed.

    Like Singh unable, or refusing to, recognize a political power opportunity by previously propping up Boy Blunder and the socialists, Carney would be at least a big a fool if, given he’s unelected, he delays an election until the Fall.

    But, as Napoleon advised his generals, never interrupt your adversary when they’re making mistakes.

    1. That’s a very bright and optimistic outlook, but frankly, I don’t think the country will survive that long of a wait. We’re watching our economy crash and burn in real time right now.

      Here’s my “silver lining.” The people in the west will be so thoroughly disgusted with the way the east keeps abusing us, that the west will finally wake up, and LEAVE this godforsaken country!

          1. I’ve posted this before, but Europe, at 10 million sq km, has 44 countries.
            Canada has 9.9 million sq km. Not as densely populated, but also with very divergent economic and cultural realities. We certainly have enough differences to form 2 or 3 countries. Or 4, if the territories are feeling like leaving the party, too.

      Actually it was quite tame, and Knight was putting his own spin on Moe’s words.

  12. Does Moe not get it by now? Any Liberal leader’s first and foremost job is to win elections, to maintain power so that they can continue to loot the treasury. Doing good by the country is an afterthought, completely unnecessary; they only need an acceptable spin to make it sound like they’re doing good for the ignoramuses that are their voting base east of Manitoba.

    Needless to say, a Liberal leader doing anything good for the western half of the country is a thought that Liberals do not entertain at all. Liberals don’t need nor even want western votes. They can win power without you, will happily do so, then call you out as ingrates for daring to disagree with them, which again plays well with their ignorant base voters in the center and east.

    Some part of me is beginning to wonder if a Carney victory might ultimately be what is required to finally blow this dysfunctional country apart. Perhaps it’s time to stop delaying the inevitable, which is probably all a Conservative term in office would do anyway, and go ahead and light the fuse on this bomb.

    There’s an editorial today in the Globe and Mail with this title:
    “There’s no Pierre Poilievre without Justin Trudeau. That’s why the Conservative Leader seems broken”

    Psssst….there’s your hook. There’s your campaign. There is the very foundation how Poilievre should be responding. He needs to attach Carney to Trudeau. And. Carney, by going on a little jaunt across the ocean gave him the perfect set-up to slam this home. Where’s Poilievre? Where are the rest of the self-proclaimed conservative politicians? Where the hell is anybody in a position to make this association? I’m not even Canadian, but even I am frustrated at the absolute ineptitude of the Canadian Right.
