Is anyone able to explain why Mark Carney, the Greatest Economist Ever (TM), has an Irish passport or citizenship?
Is there tax advantages?
Too lazy to do the research
Men like Carney all have second or third passports. Just in case the poor people decide they’ve had enough of men like Carney, and choose a leader like Donald Trump who actually takes his people’s side against “citizens of the world.”
Mark believes he’ll land in Dublin airport five minutes before the USMC enter Ottawa without a shot fired in anger.
I guess it’s nice he believes in *something.*
There are stations in life in which it is simple common sense to acquire and hold every passport that one is entitled to claim. Carnage has been in such a position for some time, and indeed seems to have got there honestly. It’s silly to criticize him for it. Of course, I’m often silly myself, so don’t feel too bad about it.
Irish passports give you VISA free travel to over 180+ countries. It’s actually rated higher than a Canadian or US passport for accessibility.
Remember the previous Liberal Finance Minister who owned shares in a Montreal-based company (gifted to him from his father?) which was owned by an Ontario-based company which was owned by an Alberta-based company? He quit shortly after that came out.
I think Conservatives need to raise this issue of his multiple citizenships. It was not ok for Stephan Dion,Scheerer, so also not ok for Carney if he wants to be PM.

More to the point, why does he have armed RCMP bodyguards?
Kate…..I know the political news has been more than busy.
But few mentions of the dogs lately.
Lost my good boy.
From the book Bless the Dogs . The Monks of New Skete
“The biggest problem with dogs is that they don’t live long enough.
They always seem to leave us when we’re most vulnerable, most in need of their biased, affirming presence.
Dogs make us believe we can actually be as they see us,
and it’s often only when they’re gone that we realize their role in what we’ve become”
SDA has been a go to for me for 15 years or so…Golden puppy was 14.
Kate… keep up the good work….and thanks to all the contributors.
Sorry to hear about your loss. When they go, part of us dies with them. That is the price we pay for having them in our lives. It is worth it.
God, please make me the person my dog thinks I am.
Lost the surviving buddy of two littermates last summer. Died in my arms. I know the feeling only two well. So sorry for everyone who grieves for their lost buddies, and the feeling of emptiness they leave behind.
They’re not people, but they may as well be, because we certainly miss them when their time comes.
Well written!
Sorry dude.
It is brutal.
We lost our gentle giant over Christmas to cancer after nine years. At 206 lbs and 37″ high at the shoulder Max was a gentle giant. When he wanted to cuddle with you on the couch he would back up like a cautiously driven dump truck. When strangers showed up at the house his low bark would summon elephant herds from Africa. Once you overcome the loss of a beloved member of the family you are left with years of awesome memories. We replaced Max with a very lively puppy (always Great Danes). We’re just trying to teach him not to eat our eye-glasses, TV remotes, pens, etc. He’ll be fine but it seems to take forever to train a puppy.
Jeff K, so sorry for your loss. We understand your grief all too well. Our dogs bring us so much joy for the short time they are with us.
Mark Carney declares everything is an emergency and everything is his highest priority:
Prorogues Parliament for five years to implement glorious five year plan.
Two can play that game now. Prorogation will become a weapon of choice for subsequent Parliaments. Party in power wins, Kanadian sheeple always (very willingly) lose.
The Only Thing You Need to Know About Volodymyr Zelensky
I am re-reading the book “A Man Called Intrepid” about William Stevenson, from Winnipeg, who left school at 14 (to help out his family) and after being a pilot in World War I, became a self-made millionaire (I think of Elon Musk as a version of William Stevenson). He had immense curiousity and was definitely able to “connect the dots”. He set up MI5 and MI6 and was responsible for setting up Bletchley Park in the late 1930’s, as he (along with his good friend, Winston Churchill) knew that war with Germany was inevitable and would be won by intercepting intelligence communiques and developing the atom bomb.
Just finished reading the chapter about Joe Kennedy, the American ambassador to the Court of St. James. What an evil man! In the Old Testament, it is is noted that it takes 7 generations (or 140 years) for evil to leave a family or a country. The Kennedy family has been called “cursed”. It is only in the fourth generation and needs at least another 60 years before the evil has left their family (assuming that more evil is not done).

It is apparently a coronation.

Two senile presidents in a row. Good going US, the next one you elect will probably be dead from natural causes before running for office.
The C is becoming more and more deranged. Now it’s claiming that Trump is senile just like Biden, a prognosis from a 24-second vid clip.
Meanwhile, here’s a 48-minute video of Trump holding a press conference while he signs executive orders:

So much for the Harper-appointed judge.
