QOTD

Runner-up (thread): Fully support Premier Smith protecting our oil and gas from a unilateral Ottawa export ban on energy. Some say we need Team Canada. That may have had more appeal if there had been a Team Canada to help us get our resources to market in the past. But that support wasn’t there ⬇️

  1. What is Scott Moe doing – we immediately need to establish a right wing faction inside the Saskatchewan Party to create influence or well soon be In big trouble.

    1. What I’ve heard is that Scott Moe is saying the same thing as Danielle Smith that Sask Oil is off the Table! He decided to go to the meeting of premiers! I would have preferred that he didn’t but knowing and possibly influencing the others may turn out best!
I can’t see Trump starting a Tariff War——-no one wins!
And Yes Western separation has been my option for some time!

    1. Thanks for that link. I think VDH hits it on the head with that video. The funny thing is that everything that Trump wants Canada to do is in Canada’s interest anyway. Control immigration – fine, vet who is coming into Canada more closely to weed out those likely to try to cross into the U.S. and would likely be inadmissible to Canada as a legitimate immigrant. Control drugs – sure after all as many people die from drug overdoses in Canada as in the U.S. (proportionally). Defence spending – I’ve said for very many years Canada has been a freeloader to the point I doubt any foreign country takes Canada seriously.

      1. We and everyone else knows PM FOP is incompetant, why do they want to associate with him. Why put the tee-shirt.”I’m with Stupid” on in public?

      2. Cyclist, both you and DJ are entirely correct. What is amusing here is that none of the lamestream media, OR the Canadian political class realize they are being gamed. From Day 1 when these gambits of DJT were first stated, it was obvious what his tactic was. And it’s equally obvious that it’s effective. All his targets are being forced to respond in ways that the Biden/Harris administration was utterly incapable of doing. The federal cabinet ministers are running around in a state of complete panic. It’s made that much worse by the fact that Canada has no actual federal government in existence right now.

When you state “I doubt any foreign country takes Canada seriously”, that’s all too true and has been obvious for years now. Canada has attracted the mockery of every single media outlet on a global basis. What’s even worse, Trudeau has been so stunningly incompetent that Canada has attracted the hostility of all of the most powerful countries in the world. China, India, and now the US all despise the federal Liberals under the stunningly stupid Justatwit.

      3. We and everyone else knows PM FOP is incompetent, why do they want to associate with him. Why put the tee-shirt.”I’m with Stupid” on in public?

      4. Cyclist ,you hit the nail on the head. The other real problem is the fight plays well with a majority of Canadians and Trudeau has been slighted (deservedly). No mention from the meetings of resolving the issues. I have noticed insulting and fighting with your best customers is a real winning strategy. Yes,let us go with that.

      5. On defence, only one country has the capability to invade Canada.

There’s no way a country of 40 million could defend itself against a country of 340 million.

        So why spend the money?

  2. The replacement Carney has already come out to say he’s fully on board with burning down 30% of the economy by eliminating all of the hydrocarbon CO2 output.

    1. Never interrupt an enemy when he’s making a mistake. All that shows is that Carney the Bankster really is an idiot.

      1. Socialists like Carney. There’s an awful lot of socialists in Canada. A great many of them don’t know how they would survive without their comfortable socialism. Fickle voters.

    1. Yes, they (Biden) applied a 27% tariff on softwood lumber in June this year. It was in the media in B.C., didn’t see any other mention.

    2. There isn’t too much of a lumber industry left in Ontario, so I wouldn’t expect a peep from Ford

  3. Trudeau said, “We have made it very clear that everything is on the table as potential responses, but we’ve also been very very clear that it has to be fair across the country.”

You can read that as, if Ontario is suffering then he’ll gut Alberta to the same level of misery.
Export tariffs on oil is just a new fed tax on the oil sector imposed for the anti-progress agenda and to get money to slush around in Ontario and Quebec to ease their pain and boost the LPC election prospects.

  4. The Eastern Presstitutes are accusing Alberta of treason…
Lets see.. Dear Leader and his eastern carpetbaggers have been trying to shutdown Western Oil Production, from day 1..
Nine years of federal overreach, slimy regulation and obscene taxation.

9 years of federal attempts to kneecap Alberta.
While denying our heritage and identity as Canadians.
Denigrating patriots and our serving military..

    Now ?
In the face of possible Trump tariffs…What does Dear Leader and his fellow travellers propose?
    Pretend to be patriots.
    Shutdown Western oil and Gas..!

Fat Ford is a classic Ontario “Conservative” and is doing a fine job of parodying Captain Canada..
Boy Blunder just might pull it off before he really steps down.
Justine Trudeau..The father? of Western Separation.
Now that would be a legacy befitting the hair Apparent.

    1. Crippling the provinces making equalization payments is a curious stop along the path to equity.

      1. Liberals and New Democrats have totally bought into the oil is bad mantra, thus wanting to shut down the oil industry in Canada.

Trump gives them an excuse to do what they’ve said for years they want to do.

  5. Lets get real. If we stop the flow of oil to the States, they will simply go somewhere else. Likely they would stay there when all the posturing is over.

    1. I wouldn’t put it past Trump to negotiate a deal for Pemex. The Mexicans certainly don’t know how to run it. And you’re right, when that business leaves it is never coming back.

      1. I think part of Mexico’s constitution states that Pemex is off limits for foreign investment, and that inability to raise funds for more exploration or production is a part of what hamstrings Pemex petroleum output.

        1. If the incredibly ethical government of Mexico cannot be bribed to circumvent its constitution, the annexation of Venezuela has potential.

Perhaps Greenland will be the next Guantanamo.

    2. Agreed on the oil, the US will re-source oil, permanently from elsewhere, even from within the US itself, and starve southern Morontariowe refineries of the US crude they process.
Electricity? Well, they will just ramp up the nuclear and restart the coal Gen stations recently turned down. Permanently.
Canadian politicians, stupid is as stupid does.
The Liberals, burning down the house on the way out.
Buy your gold now and get ready for a massive devaluation in our peso.
“I don’t really pay attention to monetary issues” -T2

      1. Trump campaigned on reducing the price of gasoline.

So where will Trump find 4 million bpd suitable for US refineries?

Cut off Canadian oil and the price to USA goes up.

        Trump would lose the mid-terms.

Of course, there’s always Russian oil but not 4 million bpd.

  6. Trudeau’s massive Carbon taxes has done enough to drive businesses and people out of canada. And, here he sits among premieres pretending to give a dam abt our economy in the face of Trump’s tariffs yet he was fine and dandy when joe biden issued tariffs on our lumber. If Trump was a Democrat, no one will be complaining right?

    1. Carbon taxes are destroying the massive movie industry in BC.. Productions are a way down. We are 5 times more expensive now.

    1. Judging by our past I think you’re right.
Thinking outside the box ( federalism) lies freedom and justice.
      Free the West

  7. Danielle is protecting and building Alberta’s reputation as a secure and dependable supplier of hydrocarbon energy. Alberta has one of the largest oil reserves in the world. We can’t be seen as a supplier who will cut off energy supplies when world politics get a little rocky. Having such a major natural resource like that demands a strong leader. Thankfully we have that in Danielle Smith.

    1. Do not trust DS any further than you can throw her. Never forget that she crossed the floor from WR to the Cons, leaving AB politics in such disarray that the Commies got in. She needs to carry that stink to her deathbed. Feet to the fire, every single day.

      “Trust, but verify.”

  8. The Turd™ has said repeatedly that the #Libranos will fight tariffs with tariffs, and “nothing is off the table”.
Fully willing to throw western Canada under the bus for eastern Canada’s inability to police their border.

I think fast tracking a referendum is the way forward, and completely ignoring the “clarity act” or any #Librano in the country. Not even responding to them, and to not acknowledge their presence.

The new Trump Administration will recognise the new western Canada republic, fully walking around eastern Canada’s garbage federal overseers and SCOC.

So yes Mr. Trudeau, go for it, you know you want to…

  9. On another note, well done Canadian idiotic politicians!
You just telegraphed your future intentions and chess moves. Classic Faux Pas.
Once again, Trump has outfoxed his less than capable opponents.
Do these lunkheads ever think, that, this has all been gamed out already?
    5D Chess class and lesson.
This country is in for a world hurt this year, all because of greedy, silly politicians, with little to no experience in the dog eat dog world of business. And we get to pay for it all.
Luckily, our personal situation can withstand this but it’s our kids and younger generation, the working one, that will pay dearly.

  10. Beginning to think that Danielle might be Alberta’s greatest natural resource.
Trump’s first term coincided with Trudeau’s first years and Trump’s concerns were immigration, drugs, national security and trade balance. Trudeau’s response, up to the speech last month lamenting Harris’s loss, was to use Trump as a campaign issue and to ignore Trump’s concerns which should have been our concerns also. Having developed a contempt for Trudeau, Trump has understandingly gone full ‘Art of the deal’. A better move for the premiers would be to demand Trudeau’s immediate disposal. Restoring balance to immigration, drug policy, border and our national security will take time – getting rid of Trudeau can be done now.
I agree with We will be herded – these premiers should wear their ‘ I’m with Stupid’ tee shirts proudly

    1. No. AB’s greatest natural resource are the grass roots people who installed her there & are keeping close watch over her.

  11. China, via Liberal Party of Canada, has maneuvered us into a position where western separatism would be to their benefit; yes Alberta and other grown-up provinces should eventually become sovereign nations but only via a healthy and natural evolution, and under good relations with Canada, after we destroy the commie 5th columnists. However, separation out of anger and spite (even justifiable) during this current but unacknowledged war with China is classic divide and conquer strategy, allowing them to become even more involved in North America, at a time when their comrades are truly against the ropes. Maturation into sovereign-hood must wait till the war is won. This is Trumps end game.
