Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

"The New York Times link to me yesterday [...] generated one-fifth of the traffic I normally get from a link from Small Dead Animals." - Kathy Shaidle

Only sheeple, halfwits, and grifters believe in man-made Climate Change.
Climate change is not to blame for illegal immigrant arsonists, agents (from hostile countries or hired by hostile interests) who commit acts of arson, empty reservoirs, and fresh water runoff from rainfall and melting snow just draining into the ocean instead of into reservoirs. Climate change is also not to blame for flammable scrub brush piling up in unmanaged forests.
Elites who want the middle and lower classes dead or helpless, broke, hungry and enslaved, and also want the land cleared of undesirable single dwellings and private ownership so they can build their distopian communes are, however, to blame for all of this.
Major conflagrations in recent CA history … all ignited during EXTREME high wind events. Coincidence? or Strategery?
I’m more surprised it was as high as 35% back in 1991.
I was in school back then, the tidal wave of woke chased me all the way to college.
Climate change didn’t really exist. It was all “save the rainforest” “save the whales” and “ozone hole”.
“Recycling” was just picking up steam. I remember an assembly in 5th grade where a bunch of dirty hippies sang songs and showed us their recycled Frisbees made from milk cartons.
It wasn’t that high. AGW has always rated dead last in environmental concerns by both Canadians and Americans. Things like atmospheric pollution, water quality and soil quality have always outweighed global warming hugely by every survey over the last 40 years.
This episode is just CNN lying its ass off. It gives CNN an excuse to avoid blaming progressive disasters of California governor and an LA mayor for the disaster. This way, CNN can avoid doing any real work in uncovering why LA’s fire suppression system was so defective. See, CNN wants Newsom to be the progressive candidate to take down the Republicans in 2028. So he will remain untouched if CNN can possibly manage it. And for a host of DEI reasons, Bass is untouchable.
Right!? … “If only MORE Californians believed global warming was killing the planet … Pacific Palisades would never have burned.”
I live with these people … and that’s EXACTLY what they think
Members of the jury, my client is not guilty of arson. The real culprit was climate change.

In California the above defence would quite probably work.
Canadians should be aware and concerned that regulations about brush and undergrowth build-up in inhabited areas are much more stringent in the U.S. than in Canada. Thick, dead underbrush surrounds many communities across Canada.
As we saw with the July fire in Jasper last summer caused by Parks Canada negligence.
Melting glacier uncovers pine trees which lived 5500-6000 years ago.
