  7. Is it time for mischief ? It has been evident to me that your vote for Party leaders and representatives carries much more weight than your vote in the election. It also appears there is very few impediments to joining the liberal party and having a vote to choose the representatives. It could be possible to sway the choices to more favorable candidates or to install those with no chance of winning . As for leader , would it be better to install one who will be dismissed with a poor showing or one who may be kept to fight the next election, but has a higher probability to lose? (tough to predict). It is likely should CPC win , they will face significant tough unpopular choices. The MSM will lose no time in assigning blame. I don’t think the course can be corrected in 4 years with the mess that exists. Is this a crazy idea ,or something that could lead to better outcome? Or do you think no matter who leads, the Liberals are toast? My thought is Carney is the worst problem. Trudeau except with more intelligence and credibility. I don’t believe we are out of this mess.

Lets see: Carney whose on again, off again romance with politics risks identifying him as Mr Dithers Too, Witch Twichy, Coo Coo Clark, a couple backbenchers whose name escapes me but whose risk of losing their ridings is over 90%, and Baylis who after a nondescript role as backbencher, made his millions selling copies of respirators in a program which has yet to be investigated. Hint Executive protection is a US policy, not in Canada.

    A big question for MPs on the government operations and estimates committee: why is the public service growing in leaps and bounds while outsourcing is exploding right alongside that growth in the bureaucracy? MPs want to know if taxpayers are getting value for money using all these contractors. They have become a “shadow” or ghost public service that can dodge the staffing rules bureaucrats have to follow.
    How big is big? A Carleton University research team has been digging into contracts to get a handle on how many billions are spent and on what. Last year, it estimated the government spent $15 billion, and $4.7 billion was on IT contracts.
    A big part is amendments. About 272,075 contracts have been active since 2017-18. About 16 per cent of them have been amended at least once. These amendments added $25.6 billion to the original cost.
    On average: Contract duration is about 10 months and is worth $423,000 (for contracts over $10,000).
    Longest: 34.8 years (June 2015 to March 2050 for the consortium to replace the Champlain Bridge in Montreal).
    Biggest: $5.7 billion to Brookfield Global Integrated Solutions for office building management.

  16. Entry fee to the librano race is $350k. You cannot pony up your own money, it must be fund raised. There is a very short window to do this. This eliminates almost everyone with leadership aspiration.

    It will be a small field of candidates. If Carney is in – mail it in.
