            1. Meh, setting up residence in New Zealand is a bit more difficult than you might think. You might remember the television guy (Matt Lauer)….he had a number of sexual harassment complaints against him. None of them ever amounted to anything…no charges, just complaints. He was seen as damaged goods and fired by NBC.

               Well, he went to live in New Zealand. He owns a farm there….and the Govt. of New Zealand actually filed a court case to make a determination as to whether they should take the farm from him and kick him out of the country based on the harassment claims made against him. That’s how New Zealand rolls.

               Based on Jordan Peterson’s opinions, and New Zealand’s political leanings, I can’t see them welcoming him in with open arms.

            2. That is disappointing and disturbing to say the least. I hope that this incident is isolated to the loathsome term of Jacinda Adern but I doubt that the new ruling regime has really pulled out the laws and legal structures at root.

2. Had a friend from undergrad in the states who got his MD in Canada (he was from New Brunswick). Within a few years, he and his family fled to the US. And I mean fled. They literally had to sneak out because the Canadian authorities tried to stop them. Successful eye surgeon.

5. Good for you Dr. Peterson. We can elect a different party to rule but the core problem will endure until we get someone with enough guts to strip the socialism from our constitution and charter.       Jordan is far too intelligent to move to California; and I’m certain you’re right that he does have substantial wealth and substantial income. No sane person would establish a new household in California and subject themselves to the punitive taxation that the California oligarchs inflict on the serfs.

   I got an email from the RCMP firearms department saying that I had to renew my firearms acquisition license. I live in the US now and don’t really need it but since I spent three days in a classroom and over $400 to get it, I thought I might as well. After a difficult time navigating their website, I managed to send them $70 more and renew the darn thing. Or so I thought. I get an email from an RCMP functionary, full of self importance, telling me I now needed a criminal background check from the FBI merely to get the renewed license not even to buy a firearm. I told them I just went through three background checks to legally reside in the US, I hadn’t come down here to suddenly embark on a life of crime and I was through jumping through bureaucratic hoops, to forget it and refund my money. They have refused. Typical government BS. I put in a fraud dispute with my credit card company. I bet they win.

11. I’m still waiting for some Canadian to apply for political asylum in the U-S. If I were not 89 years old I would .

       Being a Conservative living in Ottawa (lib riding) and being a straight, white, educated, healthy (mostly) English speaking male not on subsidized income, I might even qualify as persecuted. I even have work experience in the US so can demonstrate being a useful citizen.
       Florida or Texas coast.
       Now to convince the better half………………….
