  1. Re solar farm.

I drove by a community centre in Calgary. It’s roof was full of solar panels. However, 90% of the panels were covered with snow.

    Guess they’re using battery power.

    1. Will that battery power hold them through to April? Solar in Alberta is one of the definitions of insanity.

    2. The community association didn’t pay for them. You can bet Gone-dyke gladly coughed up city taxpayer money. Why else is she raising taxes.

    1. More division from PM Thimble-dick.
He ran against women to take the party leadership. He’s fired women and made them leave their positions, elbowed an NDP MP in the Ta-ta’s, he’s divorced because he’s an adulterer…but I’ll defer to Tamara Lich’s opinion.

    2. Very concerning is this quote:
“It shouldn’t be that way. It wasn’t supposed to be that way. We were supposed to be on a steady, if difficult sometimes, march towards progress,”
By whose determination is this not supposed to have happened? Certainly not the voters, pretty clear statement from the electorate.
      Canada needs an election now!

    3. Modern Liberals always handing out crutches like everyone is handicapped.
They have been doing it how long now, decades?
      And we wonder what’s wrong.

    4. Kameltoe lost because she was an unworthy candidate. She came to the position because of the corruption of party politics. Her loss had nothing to do with her being a woman.

Bongo’s comments are indicative of his flawed thinking. He’s just wrong on every topic.

    1. I remember years ago, the Chinese government installed solar panels in the south section of the Sahara Desert in Africa. They failed within a year because of sand storms (which destroyed the glass panels) and because there was no maintenance performed.
I DO think there is a limited use for solar powered items – such as garden lights, outdoor lights on houses, perhaps road signs on little wheels letting drivers know of construction ahead – that sort of thing. But on a full scale, where the authorities “hope” to provide lots and lots of a good supply of electricity, not in the foreseeable future.

      1. At this very minute, solar is producing just over 4% of it’s capacity in Alberta. The stupidity of these things is breathtaking and virtue signalling. Nothing more.

      1. Almost an Apples and Oranges comparison. An earthquake can be devastating as well.
A nuke plant can be built with tsunami resistance in mind without seriously undermining its usefulness.
Protecting solar panels from the elements on the other hand will reduce the capacity of the panels.

  2. Regarding UK problems… (caution, BBC link)
Remember from back in the day, “Prison Planet” ?

“The justice secretary has said even under the government’s plans to open 14,000 more prison places, they could still run out of space over the next few years.
Shabana Mahmood told the BBC that “building alone is not enough” to deal with the critical lack of space in UK jails.
The government is publishing its 10-year strategy to deal with overcrowding in prisons – including more details of how it will create 14,000 more places in England and Wales by 2031.”

Well at least there’s some new construction is being built in the UK… I see NO progress on the #Libranos and The Turd™ plan to build any millions of new houses for the new Canadians here, it’s just fallen completely off the promise map.

  3. re: Syrian refugees
I for one would love to see a more detailed demographic analysis of this. such as skill level, trade/occupation prior to evacuation from Syria, details about sponsorship or lack thereof, and most important, religious affiliation. you know, the kind of details Statistics Canada could provide had they been doing due diligence. I’m willing to bet that the Syrian Christian refugees, sponsored by private church organizations, demonstrate far higher employment rates and assimilation rates than their cimalsI counterparts. but that would be racist..

    1. Peameal bacon old boy. One of Toronto’s more notable inventions courtesy of William Davies. The original recipe called for rolling the pork in crushed yellow peas. Circa 1850.
