  1. Trudeau pays Accenture, a consulting firm, $313 million.

    Highlights:
    – $313 million given in 19 non- competitive contracts
    – Accenture charged up to $750/hr.
    – Accenture awarded a contract to its own subsidiary.
    – Trudeau pays consultants $21 billion annually, even though the civil service is much bigger than ever.

    1. If you hire somebody who can do the job, you don’t need consultants to do the job.

If you are going to use consultants to do a job, you don’t need to hire anyone for the job.

      1. P.S. If you’re paying $21 billion a year for consultants, it’s outright cronyism/theft and you have Neauclu running the country.

      2. Ottawa pays more to consultants and lobbyists each year than what it spends on the entire military. The size of the civil service has grown exponentially.

If Canada wants to get to its 2% NATO commitment – quit wasting money on consultants and get the civil service back to work.

        1. I doubt Canada will ever reach it’s 2% commitment to NATO in a way that provides sufficient pointy stick forces to be effective.

        2. Ottawa pays more to consultants and lobbyists each year than what it spends on the entire military.

Whaddya expect when you elect/hire nothing but idiots?

    1. I propose we begin the cull with these two weirdos, followed by all the climate scolds. Lead by example!

    1. I bet Trudeau would like to follow his example, since Trudeau is stuck with a parliament that doesn’t want to do what he says.

  2. ” …. happening in Premier Doug Ford’s Ontario where they can’t seem to keep repeat gunman from being let out on bail but they can throw the book at a soon-to-be 77-year-old rural mayor of a tiny village.”

Cue the usual fart-catchers to run cover …

  3. Presidents are tasked with sending men out to die. They’re surrounded by men willing to die for them. If they can’t even rise to be worthy of that level of sacrifice, they have no business holding office.

  4. Comment on postal service:
A friend in Spain mailed a tube of posters back in August to Alberta. It arrived after we departed mid October. Our daughter living at home tried to retrieve the package from Canada Post, but was denied. Her surname doesn’t match her mother’s. We received the package today from the sender, a neighbor in Spain.
    Kudos the Correo Espana-Canada Post.

  5. Blackie’s Canada and Manifest Destiny
The meeting took a lighter turn when, according to Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy, Trump humorously suggested that if Canada cannot sustain its economy without what he claimed was a $100 billion annual exploitation of the U.S., perhaps it should consider becoming the 51st state.
This comment reportedly came after Trudeau expressed concerns about the detrimental impact of new tariffs on the Canadian economy

  6. I think that Alberta and Saskatchewan should become the 51st and 52nd states respectively. We have more in common with Montana and North Dakota than the rest of Canada.

    1. Nope. Ain’t interested. The last thing we need is to be governed by the GD Demoncrats. The only way we make it is if we go it alone.

  7. Oh, I don’t know.

This pardon looks to me like the president just stuck it to all the conniving Democrats who shoved him under the bus in order to advance the cause of his hopeless vice-president. I had the same feeling the other day watching him welcoming the president-elect to the White House like an old frat-house pal.

Could it be – dementia be damned! – the man has been (in the words of a former president) “misunderestimated” by all his scheming court manipulators?

With nothing more to lose, he seems to have given the Beltway establishment, the woke gang and all the attendant jesters in the media a big middle finger as he heads off into retirement.

    1. Before someone says “it is the CPSO not Doug Ford”, note that board of the CPSO is 15 appointed by Doug Ford’s cabinet, 15 physicians elected by physicians (who almost all work for the government) an 3 appointed by medical schools (who are funded by the government and are appointed by the others). Given that 15 are direct political appointments and 3 are indirect political appointments, the CPSO is controlled by the Ford government. Doug Ford is responsible for suppressing Dr. Kaur Gill and others.

  8. Is Greenfield gaslighting us or is he just delusional? When, exactly did we expect more than the bare minimum from our politicians? When was it that the American president was better morally speaking than the junky next door?
Political nonsense. Pardoning his son is the first relatable action Biden has done in 50 years.

    1. The laughable, hurry up and wait Medical System is set up much like the property tax system.

Only 20 to 30 % get their taxes raised each year to keep the uproar to a minimum. But they’ll get you next year.

Only a small % of Canadians have any major interactions with the Health System.

And boy are they surprised, shocked at what they experience.

Politicians are scum. The good ones leave after one term, knowing they can’t change the Ottawa cesspool.

  9. Regarding the generous Hunter Biden “pardon” caper:

As I understand things, a Pardon” is NOT legally “Exoneration”

A “pardon’ implies that there was a “conviction” and at least some form or Justice” prevailing..

Basically “all is forgiven”, if not actually forgotten..

What kind of “pardon” scrubs “unreported / unrecorded” and “once and future’ crimes and / or convictions.

That seems more like “sanctification”, or, at least, “pre-emptive forgiveness”. And then, there is the “familial” link…..

What is the going rate for “indulgences”?

I am but a simple old bloke on the other side of the planet. Can somebody explain all of this, please?

  10. I heard a constitutional ‘expert’ today who thinks Biden may have exceeded his authority.
This pardon covers the largest periods time ever.

The Ford/Nixon pardon was for 4 years. The Biden pardon covers a decade. The opinion was that there may be an argument to be made that a presidential pardon was never intended to exonerated crime over this length of time.

Maybe the attack dogs in the Trump cabinet will pursue this.

  11. Another question about Hunter Biden pardon.
So he can’t be charged/convicted of past crimes, but what about the rest of the Biden crime family, going forward in the future?
Here me out…Trump has a special counsel investigation over the family’s shading dealings. Hunter is subpoenaed to answer questions about these past affairs. He refuses to answer questions and held in contempt of court and therefore a NEW charge? He can’t be charged for any past crimes, therefore no reason to refuse to answer and plead “the 5th”?
