Montana Attorney General Says Royal Canadian Mounted Police Were Trying To Spy On US Gun Shows:
Republican Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen said Monday that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) sought to conduct surveillance at several gun shows in the state, a request he vehemently rejected.
He said the Canadian agency contacted the Montana Department of Justice and Division of Criminal Investigations about observing gun shows in Bozeman and Kalispell.
“My hair is absolutely on fire,” Knudsen said in an interview with Montana Talks radio.
The military wing of the Liberal party.
Even Obama knew to stay out of Montana.
Because we all know that Canada’s street gangs and terrorists buy their guns at Montana gun shows, right?
Lots and lots of muslimbs settling in the big sky state? News to me.
A couple a Montana cowboys should take Justine and the Khalistani and Chinese wings of the RCMP for a pasture tour…
Perhaps take them to the ‘train station’ …

Likely this was done to cause bad feelings between ordinary Montana and Alberta , Sask. people and by the looks of the comments in the article it worked.Liberals sewing chaos as far as they can reach
Sorry, but those two guys, Aaron Flint and Austin Knudsen sound like nut jobs on that subject. Canada and the US have had cross border policing for a long time, and I don’t think any US federal administration would like to see Canada kick out all the US opperatives in Canada.
You mean ask to leave, right?? The only ones Canadian authorities kick around are Canadians. Effing with the Americans takes courage and backup, two things missing in Canada.
2 Years ago, one of the local sheriffs in Great Falls collected an undercover RCMP officer in the parking lot of a gun show, because the RCMP officer was acting weird by sitting in his car watching people coming and going from the show, with Canadian plates.
Now we all know that the RCMP likes to engage in entrapment schemes, like the “Mr. Big technique”, so there is no reason to believe they won’t engage in other entrapment schemes.
I’m betting one of the Coutts Boys had a single-shot .22 that they traced to Montana.
they are down there checking plates which will forever be registered every time you cross the border either way
Me thinks Rip and Beth should take on the RCMP!!
A trip to the train station maybe.
The RCMP are behaving like stasi/gestapo. This has to change.
In the article, it mentions that in 2022, a Mountie was caught spying on Canadians at a gun show, plainclothes. The Montana deputies noticed the Canadian plate on the car.
It seems to me that if a Mountie was sent down to spy, then it’s not uncommon for Canadians to come down to check out what’s new and look over the cool antique and collectible guns that are always at those shows. Merely having a Canadian plate shouldn’t ring any alarm bells.
So, I’m wondering, if the plainclothes Mountie came down in an unmarked car with a ‘Government’ plate on it. That would have been a real smooth undercover move by the Mounties. /s
FBI undercover agents have made amateur mistakes like that and got spotted before, so that is in the realm of possibility.
Police look for patterns in behavior, and zoom in on anything that looks out of place, so that could be how they got suspicious of the Mountie snooper and caught him.
A police officer working undercover might go unnoticed, but if just out of uniform while looking around and perhaps taking notes … police (and soldiers) tend to recognize their own kind out of uniform.

Again Trudeau easily forgets that actual countries enjoy privacy laws and real protections for it’s citizens including not allowing foreign intelligence interference on their soil.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Stasi…
Plenty of crime going on in Toronto and Montreal with the pro-Hamas enrichers. Wouldn’t the RCMP be put to better use against actual criminals? Oh, wait….
If I were the Montana AG, I would move to bar these RCMP thugs from entering the US…
forever. No Boca for you.
Montana AG (republican) said RCMP “contacted” Montana Department of Justice about observing gun shows. This infers an official Canadian request to monitor a gun show(s). Likely they’ve been granted access in other jurisdictions, but very unlikely without providing reciprocal access to US/State cops. Austin Knudsen’s response probably shocked our unfaithful mounties.
Pffft.
There are plate readers in the parking lots of sporting goods stores in North Dakota to catch Canadian plates. They’re looking for Canadians buying inexpensive ammunition. On the drive back, the plate readers in advance of the border crossing register your plate and you’re pulled over so the drug and ammo sniffing dogs can give you a once over.
And that’s on the American side.
Not very hard to side-step a measure like that.
Well, yes, but they end up nailing people who just wandered in to the lot to look at fishing rods too. Not very friendly when Rover sniffs your car and the Customs Guy acts like Rambo with an impacted stool sample.
I am of the opinion that it much the same way folk say “communism looks good on paper”, that American Freedom looks good on paper, while in reality the place is a police state, with cops hassling more people for minor or non-existent infractions than in many other western countries, though I’m sure this varies a bit by state. The American feds are pretty bad.
And most are not pleased about being assigned to the North Dakota/Manitoba border in winter.
Hopefully, when Trump is president, RCMP officers doing this will be arrested as the foreign spies that they are.
Remember, when a cop asks you why you carry a swiss army knife, he’s fishing for a way to hassle you.
Ask a cop why he carries a gun.
The RCMP are just rolling through looking for a Comanche grandmother to stop on with their horses to make up for the bank accounts they’re unable to freeze.
Next time I am in Montana I will check for gun shows to park for a while. Buying guns at a gun show without a Federal Background Check is pretty much bullshit. Almost everyone at a gun show would be registered as a dealer because of the frequency of buying and selling firearms. The ATF has already mined this resource and scared everyone into compliance. If you want an unrecorded gun buy it privately from an individual.
If the RCMP is looking to discover the firearms “pipeline” into Canada, perhaps they should go under-cover in South Chicago…
One way or another they should find something.
Or Cornwall
You want an unrecorded firearm you get ahold of the boys at the Mohawk rez that borders Ontario, NY and quebek. The rcmp don’t patrol that section of the St Lawrence. Too risky.
Dead on! And everybody knows it. The vast majority of guns used by criminal gangs come into Canada via Reserves. And a hell of a lot of illegal immigrants enter the US on the return trips.
