    1. Hilarious. So they lost money *last year*, did they? Gee, I wonder how they are doing *this year*?

“The publication notes that Gazprom has already reached a net profit of almost USD 12 billion in the first half of 2024.”

Uh-huh… “It will only get worse”, you say? Looks more like it will only get better.

      1. Yes idiot it will only get worse:

“As if this was not enough, a closer look at Gazprom’s newly released financials suggests that the worst may be yet to come, with three telltale signs that 2024 could be even more difficult than 2023.

First, Gazprom’s accounts receivable—a measure of money due to be paid by customers—are in free fall, suggesting that the firm’s revenue inflow is drying up. Second, accounts payable shot up by around 50 percent in 2023, hinting that Gazprom is struggling to pay its own bills to various suppliers. Finally, short-term borrowing nearly doubled last year as Russian state-owned banks were enlisted to support the former gas giant.”

(that’s an awful lot of ‘weasel words’ in there, Jessica. Don’t bet money on it…)

          1. By using weasel words they are not predicting the future, they are speculating. You label it analysis; what a laugh.

Also, since when do economists get much of anything right.

          2. Ok Looopie, play semantics, forecasting, predicting etc is all analysis. Just because you lack the tools and comprehension it does not make any of it less valid. You’re just a typical contrarian russian that pretend to be clever. Also, you have no clue what economists do.

      2. “it said on Thursday it made a net loss of 364 billion roubles ($3.92bn) from sales in 2023, in contrast to a profit of 1.9 trillion roubles ($20.4bn) in 2022.

Its total revenue fell to 8.5 trillion roubles ($91.5bn) last year from 11.7 trillion ($126bn) in 2022.”

And since scale isn’t your friend: 1 trillion is 1000 billion.

    1. “Co-founder of FACE (Federation of African Canadian Economics) Tiffany Callender says black-owned businesses will fail if the gov’t doesn’t establish permanent funding for them.”

No worries. Justin Trudeau is making sure all businesses will fail without gov’t funding.

I was thinking of co-founding the “Federation of Underappreciated Canadian Knowledge workers”.

  1. Eleven teachers were suspended from the same elementary school in Montreal after a government report was published detailing their misdeeds.

    https://globalnews.ca/news/10821738/teachers-suspended-toxic-climate-montreal-school/

“The government report described the group of problematic teachers as mainly being of North African descent, some of whom attended a local mosque together. Those who opposed them included teachers from the same background.”

    1. More proof if any was needed that Muslims are the sh*ttiest people on the planet.

  2. Christine Lagarde says she and her colleagues work very hard. Trump should come and visit.

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/lagarde-says-trump-visit-see-153053483.html

“He should come and visit us,” she said on Tuesday in Washington. “I have thousands of hard working people — economists, jurists, computer scientists — and I can assure you that they work super hard every day, not just once a month.”

I always wonder what would happen if we just held interest rates at 3% and fired all those economists, jurists, and computer scientists. No drama. No world-class travel going to conferences. No $18 orange juice or $1,000/day hotels. Just stable interest rates forever.

      1. Are you trying to infer that both got into prominent positions only due to providing well connected black men with BJ’s?

    1. I wonder if for an encore, on November 9, Barack is going be part of a trio with Kenye West and Candice Owens singing the old Nick Lowe tune: I Love the Sound of Breaking Glass?

      1. You can be sure these so called UN troops are supporting the terrorist.

It’s what the UN does best.

    1. According to a confidential report prepared by a country contributing troops to the UN mission,

      Funny, they don’t say who?

      Hamas lies again.

PS… stay out of a combat zone.

    2. “Israeli f0rces f0rcibly entered a clearly marked UN base and are suspected of using the incendiary chemical white phosphorus, injuring 15 UN soldiers.”

      ‘Suspected’ you say?

“Israeli f0rces also fired several munitions, which landed near a base and emitted “smoke of suspected white phosphorus” into it.”

Again, ‘suspected’? Since white phosphorus is completely *legal* for use as a smoke munition, and the supposedly ‘injured’ UN soldiers were inside the base when the WP was deployed *outside* the base, how did they get ‘injured’, exactly?

“The FT notes that Israel has used white phosphorus in Lebanon throughout the past year. Its use is unlawful in populated areas under international law.”

Yes, and that’s why the IDF doesn’t do that, even though there are loopholes regarding both the delivery method and allowing it against enemy combatants if efforts are made to reduce civilian casualties…which the IDF does better and more often than any other army IN HISTORY.

(but hey, you know what else is illegal under international law?: TAKING HOSTAGES )

      1. The source of the claim that IDF is more cautious blah blah blah is retired British Col Kemp. He is highly biased and provided no data for his claim.

“Col Richard Kemp runs a charity that raises money for the IDF. Why is this not mentioned by the British media when they use him to speak about Israel and Gaza?”

        https://aoav.org.uk/2023/col-richard-kemp-runs-a-charity-that-raises-money-for-the-idf-why-is-this-not-mentioned-by-the-british-media-when-they-use-him-to-speak-about-israel-and-gaza/

A few minutes of looking with genuine objectivity at the world right now is enough to discredit Kemp’s lie.

        1. “The source of the claim that IDF is more cautious blah blah blah is retired British Col Kemp. He is highly biased and provided no data for his claim.”

No, the source is *years* of reporting by western news media. Because that’s how long this farce in Gaza has been going on: 19 years. Hamas has been firing rockets into Israel non-stop since roughly one week after the Israelis gave them the Gaza strip in 2005, but every one in a while they escalate those random acts of terrorism into a major attack. Israel promptly *kicks their ass*, the UN whines and pleads for a ‘ceasefire’ and then everything goes back to normal. Hamas licks their wounds, rebuilds and rearms.

          NOT THIS TIME, though.

This time, Hamas gets eliminated completely. It ceases to exist. Hezbollah, too, if they don’t quickly realize what a huge mistake they made in trying to stick their noses into this latest conflict. Israel IS NOT PLAYING, this time. October 7th 2023 was a drastic miscalculation that has changed the region forever.

        2. Years of reporting by western news media.

That is the same media that lied to us for years (and continues to lie to us!) about COVID and pretty much everything else.

But they’re certainly telling the truth about this one thing and have been all along.

          Okay.

          1. “But they’re certainly telling the truth about this one thing and have been all along.”

About the IDF dropping leaflets, sending mass texts, making automated phone calls and sending dud ‘door knocker’ artillery rounds to get as many civilians out of a building as possible before they attack it?

(if Hamas, of course, doesn’t surround the building and *threaten to shoot* anyone who leaves)

            THAT truth, Matt?

Yeah, that has all been very well documented. By multiple sources, including Al-Jazeera.

  3. Did the CBC explain that it was a mostly peaceful murder?

    1. God, there was the old joke about the woman charged with stabbing her victim 103 times. She told police, “I couldn’t turn off the electric knife.”

  4. “It’s remarkable how many people believe themselves intellectually superior for repeating what authority tells them.

It’s also remarkable how school is structured to reward students for repeating what authority tells them.

    I wonder if there’s a connection.”

    https://ifunny.co/picture/steve-patterson-steveinpursuit-it-s-remarkable-how-many-people-believe-kFtqg0Hq8

Question everything. School and authorities lie to us constantly. The people keeping us in this open air prison will not teach us how to escape. We have to figure that out on our own.
