  2. They are not just after the deviant vote.
    They already have that.
    They are after those who may have twinges of reason regarding actual issues, like the border, crime, energy and the economy.
    They know that for many who have previously bought into the Narrative that voting left is what all the smart, correct thinking people do, glimmers of reality risk peering through the self-righteous fog.
    They want to remind those potential swing voters that they can feel morally and intellectually smug again – not necessarily by being deviant themselves, but by supporting the party that does cater to and embrace deviancy.
    There. The fog is closing in again.
    Feels good to be so “progressive” dunnit?
    Just be sure to never ask yourself “Progressing towards what?”
