    3. My first generation maternal grandparents were born in Chicago circa 1890 . Both grandparents taught their grandchildren, born after WW2, to never trust Europeans. After receiving post war letters from cousins in Denmark, Austria and Germany, it was clear to my grandparents that while the occupied countries hated the messenger (NAZI soldiers) they truly loved the NAZI message. Time has proven them to have been astute judges of Western Europeans.

      Yet they show their gratitude every year for their liberation by the Allies especially the Canadian liberators. I have witnessed that.

    Also, not to put too fine a point on it, Dutch cops have not been covering themselves in glory during the farmer protests. They like to shoot at tractors. So there’s that as well.

  8. Perhaps individual Dutch people are OK, but there is a common belief of “If you are not Dutch, then you are not much!”. They have a large sense of entitlement based upon their apogee back in the 1600’s when they ruled the oceans along with the English and when their arts were at the top of their game.

  10. Regarding the Dutch of whom I happen to be one. I think we saw during Covid that a shocking number of our neighbours here in Canada quickly became informers and spies. I was horrified, but I also remember that my father who spent WWII in a concentration camp told me that a significant percentage of Dutch people went over to the winning Nazi’s. My family did not and paid a hefty price.

    In fact, being a member of the Dutch resistance in that time often meant being 6 feet under as happened to two of my father’s cousins, one of whom was executed by firing squad. Returning to Canada I have not seen anyone complaining too much about all the Pro Palestine protesters who are supporting designated terrorist organization like Hamas and Hezbollah. What about investigations on the mysterious church burnings? Nope nothing there either. So it seems that no matter where you have woke ideology, you rapidly end up in the mess we are now, with people incapable of thinking or following moral norms that were the norm until last week.

    1. the church burnings. l emailed a link on that l got here at SDA to the local LIEberal mp whose constituency office reply was ‘looking into it’. beyond that l expect completely consistent silence.

  11. Well, a number of Christian places of worship have been vandalized and even burnt down in the Netherlands in the recent past.
    Why is special treatment being being discussed?
    Protect them all, or protect none.

  14. I find it hilariously comedic at what is transpiring today in the West. It took almost three hundred years for the Anglo-Saxons and the Normans to integrate. We’ve been trying to integrate the Indigenous tribes into Western society for almost four hundred years. The Liberals and Democrats in the West have been pushing integration, diversity, and multiculturalism for the last fifty years and the trouble it brings only grows. Fifty years from now at the rate we are progressing in this endeavour we shall find that Islam will be the dominate culture and there is absolutely nothing you can do to change things.
