2. Well, they are going to get what they voted for, good and hard.

   And they are beyond saving.

   1. JD, WE didn’t vote for it. Starmer got fewer votes than Corbyn did in 2019, which led to Boris having an 80 seat majority.
      Around 20% of the electorate voted for Labour.

      The problem we have is with the electoral system. I would suggest that Canada also has a crap electoral system which is why Turdeau has been in charge for the last 5 years (2019 – Trudeau had 33.1% of the popular vote, while the Conservatives under Andrew Scheer had 34.4%).

         But “we” did. I tried to warn (pointlessly on the internet, obviously) that angrily voting Reform to “punish the Tories” would just result in a socialist landslide that would punish us. I was treated like some kind of traitor, and was told that the disaster of the Labour government is all part of the plan that will bring forward the downfall of the “elites” and the liberty of the people. You know, Underpants Gnome politics:

         We knew what the electoral system was before we enthusiastically chose to use it to commit suicide.
         We deserve what we get.

      3. BINGO. Claiming that people got what they voted for is simply erroneous and condescending. Did the voters in France, who gave rightist Marine Le Pen a majority on the first round, vote for the left-hard left alliance on the second and deciding round putting the party in 3rd place.

         Civil society enthusiasts say we should always vote. If there are two rotten candidates and you vote for whom you think is the less rotten and he/she wins and begins taking a wrecking ball to the country did you vote for the destruction of your country.

4. The good thing is that France and the UK are both nuclear armed countries.
   I know, that seems bad.

5. well, for a number of reasons l have abandon my previous and long intention of some day brushing up on my french, checking a travel guide and living and travelling in europe for a year or so.
   because with my luck it will be rioting and mayhem wherever l go thanks to the prophet’s adherents.
