1. Ah, the Desert Drifter is one of my guilty pleasures. He’s a great guide. He never ever takes anything with him that he finds. He leaves it right where it is. Some of the pictographs he finds are amazing. His usual technique is to use Google Earth to find something that looks rather interesting, and they he seeks it out. More times than not, the ancient villages he finds (usually 700 to 900 years old) are rather well preserved…educational, interesting etc.

   Every once in a while he finds what is called “cowboy graffiti.” Some of the comments from the 1800’s are hilarious.
