Why does this government hate truckers? Trudeau spews more GHGs on one of his junkets than any trucker in the country does in a year of bringing essential goods to Canadians. If you bought it, a truck brought it. Yet Liberals insist on tearing down any industry that benefits the country. With any luck, this idiocy will not survive an election.
My theory is…because Trudeau thinks Truckers project masculinity, common sense and strength of character that escape him.

A lot of problems in Canada could be solved by simply following Argentina’s example of eliminating entire federal departments and private consultants, then radically cutting most other departments, aid to foreign countries and charities Less taxpayer money spent on wages and benefits, less corruption, less interference in our day to day personal lives and private companies, more labor available for non-government work, more money for core government services and tax cutting.

So if creating regulations that basically stop mass transportation of goods or makes it prohibitively expensive to move any goods is needed, then that is what they will do. It is a death cult club and you are not a member. You must be sacrificed for the good of the goddess Gaia, and your demise is a bonus. And if you don’t see them as malevolent, you are missing the picture completely.

When the trucking industry has completed their part in this, and the trucking companies have raised their rates by 20% to cover this expense, then “everything” rises in price but especially groceries, are the #Libranos going to blame Loblaws?
I know of a lot of semi truck owners who have deleted the emission cleaning systems on their trucks. They have to reactivate the components only when they sell the truck. My sense is that it won’t be too long before this act is simply deemed illegal.
It’s already illegal, and if you get caught the fines can be excessive.
Easy to think but tougher to do: affected truckers could avoid making deliveries to locations in Lib/NDP ridings so that voters might eventually educate themselves that actions have consequences.

– I open Ventusky and go to the AQI tab set on world wide. I point to China, Asia and India and say “When you fix that, come talk to me.” Don’t tell me because they’re poor nations, these are leading financial economies.
– I then take them to several different articles about mining of rare earth elements in China and Africa that show the immense damage done through the aggressive strip mining and then tell them how much of these elements are needed in their smart phones, computers and smart TV’s, “When you give up yours, let me know.”
– I then go into how much of these are required for EV’s, comparing to what goes into ICE vehicles.

How can you retrofit a diesel engine to produce less CO2? If it burns fuel, emissions are the result.
The only way to cut emissions is therefore to burn less fuel. That means replacing the whole engine with a more efficient one. Industry is already doing that as much as possible. But that isn’t good enough for green government zealots, they demand the impossible.
To solve a non-existent problem.

You can’t. You can increase diesel output efficiency and reduce nitrogen compounds in the exhaust with water/alcohol injection, you can reduce exhaust soot with urea injection to the exhaust gasses and a collection can, but CO2 plus water is the best you can hope for with final output.
And everyone knows it. So they’re simply lying. Again. It’s a tax and a make-work project for connected friends of the regime.
But mostly its revenge for all that horn honking. A nice round of bankruptcy for truckers, the end of the small contractors. The surviving big companies will be gifted with some government goodies later on, after all those deplorables are out on the soup line. Which is the stupidest thing they could possibly do, and therefore what they are doing.
