Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Time for our annual used tire fire, started with a 5 gallon pail of waster oil.
Exactly!
We are celebrating with some Nuclear contaminated plastic buckets of strange oil we’ll burn, and then some PCB toasted marshmallows, and a side of Asbestos Polar Bear Paw, and Tuna-Friendly Dolphin liver.
Top it off with a Decaf Gingerbread Mocha Pepperoni Zebra Mussel Capaccino – Mark Steyn
I’m gonna burn some trash in the yard.

I forgot to leave all the lights on at home this morning, remind everyone to be that Beakon of Light in our dark world today.
Be sure to give a thought for deceased Earth Day founder and environmental activist, Ira Einhorn who took composting to a whole new level by stuffing his murdered girlfriend in a suitcase and leaving her to rot in their apartment while he traipsed around the U.S.
Geez, yeah. I had forgot all about that POS and how the froggies tried their damndest to avoid extraditing him.
Every major environmental disaster is the result of a government policy. Next Up: Battery Farms.

The origin of Earth Day …
Then in January 1969, he and many others witnessed the ravages of a massive oil spill in Santa Barbara, California. Inspired by the student anti-war movement, Senator Nelson wanted to infuse the energy of student anti-war protests with an emerging public consciousness about air and water pollution.
Massive oil spill in Santa Barbara? Oh! You mean the natural seepage that has been present … for … forever! in the Santa Barbara channel? So much so that every UC Santa Barbara student has bottle after bottle of Johnson and Johnson baby oil to remove the tar from their feet after visiting the beach? Come on ma’aaan …
Kenji, the Athabaska River flows right through the “Tar Sands” for 150 miles. Tar is literally part of the river and empties into Lake Athabaska.
The Lake Trout are some of the largest Lakers anywhere. And they are bottom dwellers.
FILTHY Foreign Marxists have taken over the Enviro groups and were exposed by Ezra Levant.
Tides Foundation is a big one.
the gulf has been leaking forever. when BP had its big spill which could “never be cleaned up” magic microbes had it cleaned in a year. they have been there for a few hundred million years. it the great scheme of plate tectonics it mattered naught
I agree. It’s gotten really old.
I remember when I used to put every light in my house on while all the other houses were in darkness.. It was a lot of fun to be the only house on the street all lit up.
Now, every house is lit up as usual. Meh, there’s just no being different anymore.
Yeah Frank, but that was for Earth Hour when we were all told to turn off all lights to show support for fighting global warming.
So when is Earth Hour this year….googling…Oh, wait. That was a month ago! Never heard a word about it this year.
Back when it started and for a few years after, I would leave up all my Christmas lights so I could really light up for that hour. Almost all my neigbours turned off all lights. I expected someone to come knocking at my door to scold me, but they never did.
After a few years no-one on my street paid any attention to Earth Hour so I stopped lighting up.
You are correct, Dirtman.
My bad.
Happy Earth Day everybody! Just kidding.
Yawn.
I thought you said, “Contain your excrement”, and I thought, whoa, a tall order in the circumstances. But then I realised.
Ira Samuel Einhorn, known as “The Unicorn Killer”, was an American environmental activist and convicted murderer. His moniker, “the Unicorn”, was derived from his surname; Einhorn means “unicorn” in German. As an environmental activist, Einhorn was a speaker at the first Earth Day event in Philadelphia in 1970. He claimed to be instrumental in creating and launching the event. He not only killed his girlfriend, Holly Maddox, he stuffed her body into a trunk and then placed the trunk inside a wall inside a closet. Her partially decomposed body was discovered 18 months later. Einhorn fled the US for Europe. It took 23 years for him to be extradited. He was found guilty of murdering Holly Maddox and served a life sentence. He died April 3rd, 2020.
Did Hollywood ever make a movie about this leftist hero, Einhorn ?
ya, the question was sorta rhetorical !
aka Vladimir Lenin’s birthday
Ah, yes, another day on Earth.
Same shite, different day.
I was in 8th grade in 1970 and was … essentially … used … as a pawn to “celebrate” (read: PROTEST) on the FIRST Earth Day. The entire middle school was released from classes, assembled in the parking lot of our school, and then MARCHED (mostly peacefully) to the downtown … on the sidewalks … no traffic was blocked (intentionally). Our school administrators wanted to show “solidarity” with the Earth-movement. The Admin. called the exercise … “educational” … teaching the entire student body about “political action” or some such nonsense.
I can assure the school Admin. … all it meant to me was FREEDOM from the confines of our classroom, and a chance to see the girls walk by – dressed-up for each other (and my pleasure). Yes, halter tops were a THING in 1970, along with short-shorts on a warm spring CA day. We walked downtown … gathered in a parking lot … somebody said something … and we all went home. Earth Day ROCKS !!!
Earth Day: a good time to expose all of the lies in “An Inconvenient Truth” that was used to indoctrinate a whole generation of school children.
Naw, that’s not going to happen.
I had a gathering during the eclipse. The crowd that assembled in the ball diamond/park below my building all cheered and applauded when total occurred. I thought it was weird, I’m sure the moon and the sun and of course earth, appreciated the applause. Do we even know what we are doing these days?
I’ve run out of refrigerators and space heaters to run today…
35th anniversary of when I said ‘I do’ and she’s been saying for 35 years ‘I did?’. Nice of the world to celebrate with us.
FYI, bought a store made Black Forest Cake, in a plastic container. Violates who knows how many whiny commie virtues. You all are invited to drop by for a slice.
Well Farmerboy … according to CNN … you might as well just eat the plastic dome container your cake is packaged in …
https://www.cnn.com/2022/10/31/us/microplastic-credit-card-per-week/index.html
Because every human on the planet is eating a “credit card sized amount of microplastic” EVERY WEEK!!! Yes, in a few months you will have eaten that entire plastic dome. Ohhhhhhhhh Mommmaaaaaa!!!! Your rich chocolate German styled cake with the delicious gooey berry frosting is killing you!!
I have to admit … the eco-hysterics are funny! They chose, perhaps, the most ubiquitous symbol of capitalist excess … the credit card … to illustrate our runaway plastic “poisoning”. They should have chosen the plastic Canadian dollar … the way your PM is printing Billions of em …
I have a Comedy Club Card…it tastes Funny
I almost forgot. I’m going to drive my V8 into town and get a pizza (with extra bacon) cooked in a gas fired oven.
We should change the name of our planet to Uranus.
Good point, Buddy.
But I am kinda worried about who would celebrate it.
Oh, wait… we already have Uranus days. It’s called Pride Month.
Why Myanus? Whynot Hisanus or Theiranus?
Thanks for the reminder — oven cleaning day.
We need an UPVOTE Button.
There.

Way too windy here Monday. I just want to burn useless crap, not start the countryside on fire.
I missed it.
