Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Are you able to unroll the thread please? Those without twitter accounts can only see one post.
I think one is all I need to see.
I miss Prague.
Why? Have you lived there? (I do at the moment.)
Its the first place I saw that remarkable Soviet post WW2 architecture.
So what’s the story?
The Turd is promising to build 4 million “homes” by 2031. And he has “an action plan”. And those high rise apartments in the photo are Chinese “ghost cities”. Which is ironic – they have lots of housing and no people and we have lots of people and no housing. Which is double irony because they have 1.25 billion people and we have 40 million people. The rest is up to you to figure out.
40 million people living here. How many have Canadian values and how many have ‘post national state’ values (Liberal)?
About 30-34% have ‘post national state’ values (communism) but with the NDP (true communists) support they usually form a government. For the conservatives to win, people have to be really fed up. I’m not convinced because people do really stupid things at election time. Like falling for promises that won’t be kept.
Ship all the latest “colonizers” from the last 10 years or so to China. Win-win.
Trudeau was also going to plant 2 billion trees. How did that work out? Planting a tree is somewhat easier than creating a housing unit but Justin “all hat no cattle” Trudeau makes promises a mile wide and ankle deep. Winning for Pollievre may be a curse in that he will inherit a steaming wreck of a country and take the blame for instantly curing all the intractable problems created by the federal Liberals.
He ran out of fingers and toes.
As one person calculated, to meet this goal, the federal government would have to build 1600+ homes PER DAY. It is an impossible number, particularly for a government that promised the planting of 2 Billion trees (a much simpler task, in my mind, than fighting with building codes and regulations) and has only planted 2 million since the promise was made in 2020 and $2.16 Billion dollars was allocated to the project (which works out to, based upon current math and results, a whopping $1000 per seedling).
So no, I don’t believe a word of this verbal bovine excrement coming from the PMO. It is nonsense as I have tried to illustrate. And that is but one example where you can put a pin in the monies wasted with a fair bit of accuracy.
Justin will bring in some Chinese builders to build tall apartment buildings just like they have in China.
Trudeau will handover lots of money to the builders, who in turn, will have their employees all make donations to the Liberal Party of Canada.
The Canadian subsidiaries of the Chinese firms will then mysteriously go broke.
Whatever is built will be saturated with surveillance cameras. Just like China.
I’m actually less worried about surveillance cameras than I am about what the ChiComs did to “stop the spread” of COVID. They simply commandeered the high rise apartment building lobbies … stopped the elevators … blocked the exits … and trapped thousands of people in their apartments. It didn’t take much effort (or troops) to trap hundreds of thousands … nay, millions of human vermin (as they were treated) in their cubicles.
If the Chinese style ghetto apartments hold only recent immigrants and “asylum seekers” with post-nation state views then the cameras should catch all the allah Akbar stabbings, sexual abuse, mugging/s and all the other assorted criminal behaviour that Justine The Great has imported over the last 9 years.
The story is, we got a new country.
Just like that, and elections aren’t going to change much.
Unless those elected come out with a flame thrower.
We wouldn’t want the younger generations to have something to fight for other than an easy life would we.
That’s the story…… The elite are evil, and need to be made accountable.
ps. The showers will have a kill switch, and residents will be limited to one shower a week.
And Community Shitters.
They’ve already flipped the shower kill switch here in CA … with mandatory … yes, MANDATORY flow restricting shower heads. I found a nice looking articulated shower head on Amazon hit the “order” button … and got a GIANT RED notification that the shower head could NOT be sold in CA!!! WARNING!!! You’ve been reported to the “Authorities”!!
I found the same shower head from an independent supplier in NY and paid for slower shipping. It was worth it as I much prefer more than a trickle of water when I shower on cold mornings. Although I have had to turn my water heater heat level down … because PG&E charges me out the keyster for heating my water … to save the planet or something. Because Nat. Gas is baaaaad MmmmKay … ?
The flow restrictor is usually an oversized (rubbery) seal right at the attachment point (where the shower head screws onto the pipe end). A drill press can easily enlarge the seal, but any bits of plastic/rubber that fall into the shower head will block some of the jets from the inside. Alternately, although it’s a pain to do it this way, securing the showerhead and then drilling the seal out from underneath (with goggles on to keep those pesky rubber bits out of the eyes) will give better long term results.
I’ve only done this with simple showerheads, I don’t know what this would do to a needle-shower or pulsating jets type head.
Not sure how your shower head is built, but this is how I dealt with flow restrictors I found in ours:
1. Unscrew shower head
2. Use long nosed pliers to to yank out the flow restrictor.
It is a plastic disk with restricting holes that is pressed into the unit, just before the head. So it’s about the diameter of the pipe. My guess is that different restrictors are added at the very end of the manufacturing process depending on where the shower heads are shipped. Looks like they are color-coded too. A simple cheap add-on.
I also have several “Restoration Hardware” faucets … and yes, I am quite handy and have *ahem* … disabled every flow restrictor in every faucet in my home. Some are rather difficult to disable … huh? almost BY DESIGN … and require the power drill. But I’ve killed em all.
Good work! Government is great at fostering innovation, and creating black markets.
“Housing” is not the goal.
The goal is increasing the debt.
As Biden increases the US debt with the help of rhinos we must too in order to maintain the exchange rate and turn our house over to international banksters.
Very few of the projects are started, and it looks like multi story apartments are the key group underway or completed. Nothing there about which political parties the successful bidders supported, nor how much, nor how many permits are being delayed for the other companies until they make with the proper baksheesh.
Just take Toronto, for example. The Federal government does not control the land, the tax base, the zoning laws, so how can it build 4 million homes? By 2031? Do they know how log it takes to get a single condo built?
Maybe the government wants to turn downtown Toronto business district into condos for undocumented immigrants. Or maybe this is a last desperate effort to stay in power. Or maybe, just maybe, they really want 4 million new homes for the huddled masses. Yeah, that.
Are they going to set aside all qualifications for tradesmen to build these houses, import them all from China? there’s no way for this to be done here. I’d expect a backlash from those already in the trades if they do… You’ll phone someone for some electrical work, the furnace to be replaced, the plumbing to be replaced, and the response will be, “we’re taking calls for work 3 years for now, if you leave a deposit, and the work is expected to cost $240 an hour”
If they import entire houses to Canada from China, I’d expect a charge like this to just look at what the problem is, and I’d expect the problem to be diagnosed with, “Sir, the problem is you bought this from someone in China, I’ll repair it for $2200 but the charge is upfront, not payable next week”
Meanwhile, the water continues to flow down the hallway, into the stairwell, into the elevator shaft….
Go ahead #Libranos, show us your housing expertise.
Chinese workers? The building trades in Canada will point to the sections of their code books where it plainly states that this work needs be done by qualified people, fixtures, wiring, and piping all approved and inspected by the infamous CSA and approved by the local authority’s inspectors after installation.
Remember the guy in Sask. who went bankrupt after importing houses from “Europe” and CSA changed their minds AFTER they were delivered?
Importing these from China? I get that some people will jump at the work, but it’ll further ruin the quality of construction in Canada by a fair margin.
Have the #Libranos ever looked at http://www.indeed.ca for construction workers? they should maybe do that. Local company here in Calgary has had the same series of ads for the past +2 years with no serious takers as they’re paying $3 less than the others. Everyday on FB I see ads for construction workers to move to Ontario, their local talent pool is kinda shallow? lol…
Good luck tier 2 Canada, enjoy your dumpster fire.
One way around this would be to turn semi-vacant office buildings into condos / apartments. The Feds could dangle big gobs of money in front of cities like Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary to allow zoning changes quickly which would help people get into these buildings faster. I did read these buildings are not suited for water-sewage in every unit. That would have to be retro-fitted but the buildings would already be standing. Plus it would solve the vacancy rate problem caused by the pandemic.
I agree it could (and has) been done. The normal office building will have 3-6 centralised washrooms per floor, and heating for the entire floor from a centralised unit.
If there are 8 condo/apartment units per level, they’ll need to have 8-12 washrooms added per level, and 8 kitchen waste and vent pipes added through the run of the building, with water supplies added, and individual heating to each unit, and sprinklers added to each unit and hallway, with electrical added for each unit.
I think it takes longer than building from new, but it does save the concrete that’s already in place.
The amenities built into the first couple of levels may be interesting too…
The larger plumbing / heating company I’d worked for in Calgary has done a couple of these retrofits in the past 8 years.. none of them were done without “surprises” being found, and lots of x-raying the floors to know where they can core holes for adding drains/vents without tearing out the existing electrical which may be embedded in the concrete already.
I think it’s a great idea, but I”m viewing if from a worker’s perspective, not someone waiting for a house to be built sometime in the next few years.
“ Are they going to set aside all qualifications for tradesmen to build these houses, import them all from China?”
Perhaps, but not in Quebec. Construction unions are sancrosacant there.
Justin will send in the heavy horse patrol.
Claiming that they want to build lots of new housing, while subjecting developers to a 66% inclusion rate for capital gains seems counterproductive, but that’s just me.
And, when the sewage load is added to the already “swelling” local load the results are going to be spectacular.
Has anyone told the “local authorities” they need to build additions to their sewage treatment plants?
Do they know the treatment plants have to be built out PRIOR to the millions of new houses? It doesn’t work the other way, building houses, and with the additional tax base they’re going to build a treatment plant? HA!
Is there even 1 #Librano who has visited a site where they’re bringing in new water mains and drainage to supply?
lol, it’s all fiction and new lies for the #Libranos, it’s not possible to be that stupid.
details, details …
Your right of course ….. But they got this far.
I built my own house, Marc, so I appreciate every point that you made. I would very much doubt if any of the current Liberal/NDP politicians have similar real world experience so they have no clue as to what they are proposing. If I were you, I would copy your comments and send them off to the Minister of Housing, Sean Fraser with your compliments. Tell that you want only $150 for the your expert advice that will save the taxpayer billions and see if you get paid. (Yeah, I know, that last idea was a loser because the government never listens that those have done real world work)
Thanks for your comments.
Objective reality is a conservative conspiracy.
I’ve know of a power plant that had a new water treatment facility designed with low flow toilets in mind. They discovered the reason they exceeded capacity was because building services instructed users to flush twice to empty bowls. It was an engineering oopsie.
The only reason renting would be better is if your line of work were transient in nature.
Glenn Beck made the argument that leaving a rental property to move to another city was much easier if you were laid-off than trying to sell your home in the same scenario.
Despite that “advantage” there are more benefits to owning than renting.
And this is where I remind you all that CA has COMPLETELY ELIMINATED single-family zoning regulations. One home – one small lot is just a thing of your remnant colonial, racist, past … at least according to this fawning article.
https://ternercenter.berkeley.edu/research-and-policy/single-family-zoning-reform-highlights-a-breakthrough-in-california-housing-policy/
Single-family-only zoning is rooted in exclusion, and unwinding this vestige of racial segregation is long overdue.
Yes, you are a RACIST for not wanting to share common walls with your neighbors. A RACIST because you want to play the stereo at any volume you wish. A RACIST because you like the greenery and birds chirping in suburbia (and beyond).
Don’t mock me for living in this Communist State … because the same Commies are coming for YOUR property too.
Like it our not you probably laid out just what the progs have been all about for years now.
Social engineering done well, by rewarding everything but being useful.
They won’t stop. Our obedience will never be enough for them. They will demand more and more compliance with their will
The same thing is happening in municipalities across Canada. Provinces like Bc and Ontario are pushing housing intensification onto smaller cities to solve Vancouver and Toronto housing issues. But they don’t take into consideration increased utility infrastructure requirements such as water, sewers, power, parking, transit, traffic, schools, etc. it a short sighted cockup on the part of politicians and bureaucrats.
It’s fun living in these tower boxes.
I did it for two years in the 90’s.
Overcrowded with immigrants who hate the smell of each other’s cooking, let alone their religion and then there’s whitey down the hall.
Fridays are always fun when you can hear everything your neighbors are doing.
Call them Fck or Fight Nights, but mostly just yelling and stompy walking.
Now there’s probably the Call To Terrorism five times a day.
Add in more lockdowns cuz the Chinks Did That Again and power outages because Climate Crisis and you’ve got multicultural favelas just seething.
Every version of the future that Liberals are pushing are beshitted dystopians.
Well to be clear, Gondek is one of the dumbest people on the face of the earth. Just another useless grifter.
I heard that GoneBitch owns rental properties in the city’s NorthWest and DownTown.
The gov’t will build no homes. However..
1 – the budget provides some tax support for office to condo conversions and some of those will happen;
2 – the budget provides a strong incentive for people who own multiple rental units to sell them before June 25 of this year – so expect to see a surge in rental units for sale. Many will sell at premiums as players essentially swap assets to minimize future tax liabilities.
3 – the budget increase in capital gains taxes means that fixed profit expectations on investment (e.g. an expected rate of return) will lead to increases in rent (because the profit potential for capital gains is reduced.)
So, on net, the budget implies: higher valuations and higher rents – the exact opposite of what they claim to want.
You’re going to have a hard time convincing anybody with math skills and a long picture view that renting is better.
Retired and living in our paid for single family home, just taxes and utilities, some maintenance costs. Large backyard (for an urban setting) BBQ’s, smokers and fire pit, room for the dog to run and play. Backup power when needed. Fences and hedges make good neighbors. Money available at the end of the month for nice extras if wanted. Scrimped and saved, did whatever work was necessary to get here, enjoyed most of it.
Can someone ever retire when renting? And have a life? Only on big business or government pensions and then just maybe.
So based upon needing math skills and a long picture view, the majority of Canadians are not going to see the future and go for the handout now, as usual.
Some will be very glad they are not adjoined here, learning guitar and I SUCK! Electric with headphones, but still.
Comrade Kaprugina will tell you that seven families could be housed on your property. /s
He said homes, not houses. I imagine a sea can with a porta-potty will meet Trudeau’s definition of a home.
If I get my way, that’s exactly how C.A.G.E. will be built.
And it will be Juthtin’s home.
Just no porta-potty so the natives can call him Shits-with-polar-bears.
Till he gets shit by a polar bear.
Just when ya thought those idiots in Calgary couldn’t do worse than Nenshi…
I still believe that the ballot scanner/tabulators were programmed to flip every third vote for Farkus over to GoneBitch.
L – “If you elect people with tiny brains to govern you. You’ll end up living in a tiny home. ” – Sage of Canada
Gonna have to order “off” the menu.
