Sun- Trudeau’s budget is a debt bomb

The Trudeau government’s 2024 budget is a tax-and-spend debt bomb financed by borrowed money and high taxation that is going to get worse year after year until the Liberals are booted from office.

Caught off guard by high interest rates, Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland delivered a budget on Tuesday awash in a sea of red ink, keeping the Liberals’ dubious record intact of failing to deliver a single balanced budget since they came to power in 2015, with no plan to balance the budget, ever.

  2. It’s the Liberal way, their only solution is to Virtue Signal their intentions, say they’re going to do it in 10 years time, and of course, just throw BILLIONS of borrowed Pesos at the problem.
    It’s been the Liberal Party MO since time immemorial. Appear to be doing something about the problem, without really doing anything at all positive, except to maintain their craven power.

    The same people who told us there would be no inflation because they spent trillions of dollars we don’t have, the same people who told us there would be no interest rates…are now “caught off guard”.

From that point of view, the Turd is very successful. That much is obvious to readers here. But too many still can’t wrap their heads around that – past governments used to generally act in the best interest of its citizens. This one is waging undeclared war on us.

A lot of people expect hyperinflation as a result of the borrowing tsunami, (which is being replicated in every province by the way) but a relentless and slow upward grind in prices of consumer goods, energy and real estate is more likely to be the case. The problem with that scenario is that people react like a frog being slowly boiled. They won’t notice until it’s too late.

    Anecdotally, a 1920s house on my daughter’s street in Winnipeg was recently listed for $195,000. It’s an absolute dump with serious foundation issues. The buyer paid $250,000.

    1. Yup, Costco is selling gold and silver online, get 3% back when using their CC and free delivery. Not bad pricing especially if you time it right. However, they become conveniently ‘out of stock’ when there are significant price moves higher only to re-appear sometime later at a new price.

Since the Brampton house is paid off, I’m going to leave it to the kids, and buy a house in Chile not far from the mine. You can get a five bedroom four-bathroom house with a view, a pool, a barbecue pit, covered parking for three vehicles, staff quarters, and three blocks from the beach for C$395,000. No carbon tax on gas, either.

  15. We’ve seen this before. Imperial Germany and the Weimar Republic ended WW1 with a mountain of debt which the greatest industrial power in Europe could never repay. So it drove the Reichsmark to a zero valuation, wiping out the country’s debt in worthless currency.

    Justatwit is doing the same thing; bribing the voters with their own money and reducing the currency to zero value to ensure that it never has to be repaid in anything meaningful.

    Get a grip and start mobilizing. Its your Country, not theirs – they are traitors and deserve what traitors get in 3rd World shit holes, seeing as this is what they are purposefully creating year by year, day by day in your Canada.
