I can’t think of a single reason anyone would invest their best years in Canada’s current military.
The people are underpaid, the equipment is worn out, there’s no guarantee of after service wellbeing and if you’re not treated well while serving it’s not likely to improve after the gov’t no longer needs you.
$16 Billion shortfall each year, haven’t met the 2% of GDP and 20% of that amount for equipment standard since Brian Mulroney’s gov’t did in 1988

I have heard from several sources that they are actively ignoring or delaying recruitment from young white Canadian males. They are having trouble recruiting because they want to change the nature of their personnel, and are pursuing identity groups that don’t want to enlist (visible minorities, persons identifying as trans, women).
I have heard three reports of young white males being put on a “wait list” for up to two years. Has anyone else heard this?
Have not heard that. I think they would admit the desirable demographics first, then to reach their quotas admit whomever is left. I’d be curious to know if the recruiting group has racial quotas to fill. Wait list is common in some trades where the training is slow, like pilots. But nothing coming out of that outfit would surprise me. Read somewhere last week that the charter of rights and freedom is OK with hiring discrimination if it favors certain groups. As for the objective of changing the CF demographics, that is definitely an objective, stated explicitely. They call it changing the “culture”. If you want to see proof, just look at appointments of Sr NCMs and Commanders. Women are now over-represented in those categories. Some have mentioned the possibility of bribing immigrants with the promise of citizenship. What for? What does Canadian citizenship bring to an immigrant that he doesn’t already get? T
Haha, I got a few recruitment videos inserted in my Youtube advertizements. You guys gotta look at them and you’ll see what DND’s recruiting priorities are. The commercials are universally lame. Are you a Indian that likes to stack sandbags? Then the CF is for you. You black woman save a kid from drowning ? The CF is for you. You go mountain biking and a cliff bars your way (showing the inability to read a map or plan an outing)? Just rappel down the cliff! Etc. Didn’t see a white man.
