Down The Memory Hole

Irreversible climate change catastrophe along with mass death will be upon us within twenty years, apparently.

Oh, wait,… that prediction was made twenty years ago.

A secret report, suppressed by US defence chiefs and obtained by The Observer, warns that major European cities will be sunk beneath rising seas as Britain is plunged into a ‘Siberian’ climate by 2020. Nuclear conflict, mega-droughts, famine and widespread rioting will erupt across the world.

The document predicts that abrupt climate change could bring the planet to the edge of anarchy as countries develop a nuclear threat to defend and secure dwindling food, water and energy supplies. The threat to global stability vastly eclipses that of terrorism, say the few experts privy to its contents.

  1. All the stench of the usual crapulousness from the Groaniad. A “secret” report no less, supposedly “suppressed” by the Pentagon. All of which is supposed to add credibity to the Groaniad. Supposedly suppressed, and yet they let a gang of ignorant foreigners like the Groaniad get their greasy hands on it. A report apparently coathured by that legendary political liars Sir David King, Schnellnhuber, Sir John Houghton and Robert Watson.

Now pull the other one, Groaniads. And after two decades, tell me that your fantasies are worth anything whatsoever.

    1. It’s more than 90 years or 4 generations of climate doom profiteering. In the Lincoln Sunday Journal and Star from April 13 1931? “Will melting ICEBERGS Engulf WORLD?”. https://qph.cf2.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-a8b332a328f03a8890339d383b547244
So called experts and scientists warned the public of a pending catastrophe where by the year 1950 Manhattan would be flooded. And if all the ice on the planet is going to melt sea level would rise by 150 feet. After 4 generations of failed predictions of imminent doom why do people still listen to the self-proclaimed experts.

      1. The Emperor of Global Warming has no clothes …

        As Wikipedia appropriately states …

As an idiom, use of the story’s title refers to something widely accepted as true or professed as being praiseworthy, due to an unwillingness of the general population to criticize it or be seen as going against popular opinion. The phrase “emperor’s new clothes” has become an idiom about logical fallacies. The story may be explained by pluralistic ignorance. The story is about a situation where “no one believes, but everyone believes that everyone else believes. Or alternatively, everyone is ignorant to whether the emperor has clothes on or not, but believes that everyone else is not ignorant

  2. Oh, that again. Whole societies have been at the precipice of extinction for decades. We’re all going to die. Yawn.

  3. Amazing the link to article still exists, normal people are embarrassed by their past ridiculousness, and leftists cleanse history of things they don’t like, but this article remains. It must be a measure of their arrogance and power that they don’t care.

  4. We need a way to hold these serial liars criminally liable for spreading these obvious and blatantly inaccurate lies over 20 years ago. If we started doing that this bullshit would quickly come to an end.

  5. Here’s a thought: A couple weeks ago, Iran laid claim to all of Antarctica. They did so claiming they would install military outposts. Most of the world shrugged and wondered what they were smoking.

BUT, Antarctica is the single biggest fresh water depository on the planet. The UAE has been fiddling around with the idea of floating icebergs south from Antarctica in an effort to increase their dwindling fresh water supply and move away from the rather inefficient de-salination plants. Iran has a similar fresh water issue (if not worse than the UAE). And, I think Iran plans to turn it into a growth aspect of their weak (and tumultuous) economy.

    Step 1 claim it
    Step 2 exploit it
    Step 3 monetize it
Step 4 Give the middle finger to environmentalists worldwide. (Not to mention that creating a nuclear capability takes MUCHO fresh water)

I’m kind of curious how the creative minds of the climate catastrophe cult would view such an effort. They’d have many melting icebergs (as they warn)…and it would be done purposefully….which could be fun to watch.

      1. No, just my error. I meant antarctica (and north…not sure why I said south)…but, give it a few years and we’ll all be dead when the poles reverse…but I’ll be correct 😀

        1. The whole towing-icebergs thing is a 200-year-old has already been tried. Didn’t work. Coriolis Force is a real thing, and on objects that big it makes them unmanageable once they’re being forced along. Weight and acceleration figure into it. Coriolis Force is the thing that gives us our weather patterens.

  6. So many fools live in fear of warmer weather.

    Bring it.

We have been told every year for the last 50 years .. that we only have 5 or 10 or 20 years to our doom. Still waiting, And FYI the sea levels have not up an iota. Just watch Miami Beach … if it disappears then you know it’s happening .. if not … then not go party.

  7. If the land ice melts, yes. If the sea ice melts, no.
A glass of ice water does not overflow when the ice melts..

  8. The same braid dead extremists that are always telling us to “TRUST THE SCIENCE” when it comes to climate change……

Are the same bread dead morons telling us that putting a mentally ill gay man in a dress turns him into a woman.

  9. The poles will melt, diversity is strength, safe and effective. It doesn’t matter is it’s true, as long as you believe, and destroy those who don’t. Accept progressivism as your savior.
