  1. Any news on the trucker movement to refuse to deliver goods to or from NYC?
Is it widespread? Is it having an effect?
(It is a response to the Trump ruling.)
    Thanks

    1. I did a search a few hours ago and the YSM (Yellow Stream Media) was pooh-poohing it as a bust.

I did a quick search on the number of trucks that deliver to NY each day and the best I could come up with was about 2,500. I have no idea how good that number is, but I went with it.

If only 10% of truckers participate, that’s 250 truckers. Seems a bit lowball to me but consider; day 1 is 10% short and day 2 isn’t going to make up the shortage. It’ll be 10% short, too and so on for each day. A couple of weeks of that will get some knickers in a twist.

If 20-25% of the truckers participate, New York will be crying “Uncle!” in a New York minute.

So, remember that the YSM is going to, has to report that the boycott is a bust. They’ll have pictures of trucks making deliveries and interviews with truckers that don’t know anyone that is participating.

But it does not take a 100% trucker boycott, although that would be beauty. All it would take is 500 or 600 truckers boycotting loads to be highly effective. I think they will easily get 250 and possibly a lot more.

Know what happens next? People in NY make runs in their cars to far away grocery stores, bring the goods back, and sell them at outrageous prices… until the outlying stores can’t keep up with stock due to the unanticipated demand.

Anyhow, first timer, we should be getting the YSM lies soon enough.

      1. I think you’re quite a bit low with the 2500.
Amazon alone has 50 warehouses/fulfillment centers in NYC. I worked at an average size amazon warehouse [950,000 Sq ft] – we received at least 20 trailers a day, on a slow day, and sent out another 20 between UPS, FedEx, internal transship.
Double that at least on busy days.
        One company.

It will take thousands of truckers to even make a dent, unfortunately.

        1. Thanks, Bunny. That helps with the numbers. As I said, I had no idea how many truckloads came into the area, and I had trouble finding any other number besides the 2,500. Aaand… I still don’t know the real number. But your input helps.

The key refusals will be truckloads of food items. Now that’s something that will be hard for truckers to focus on. So what if your local bodega is out of Scotch Brite scrubbers? That won’t hurt. But if the pizzerias and bagel makers can’t get flour for a few weeks, things could get ugly.

We’ll just have to wait and see if this boycott has legs.

          1. Grocery stores would be a great target for a trucker’s protest.
They didn’t learn anything from the pandemic. Everything is still on demand. Two days without a delivery and the toilet paper is gone.

  2. 20 Feb 2024 #russianarmy #avdiivka #ukrainianarmy
The Russian Army has gone all-out as Ukraine tries to retake captured Avdiivka. Russia has been carrying out over 460 strikes each day around Avdiivka since its fall. Ukraine is attempting to re-enter Avdiivka, but Russia has turned it into a fortress. Russian President Vladimir Putin lauded the army but asked them to “develop on it.” Putin met Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu to discuss the new frontline strategy. This report has more details.

    1. “Inconceivable”!

SDA military experts have already told us that Russia has lost, over a year ago. Send another 100 billion dollars, Zelenski deserves another bonus for the spring/ summer offensive that drove Russia to it’s knees. Well according to the SDA experts and MSNBC anyway, your mileage may vary.

        1. Rusty
Surrender to save Ukrainian lives, I think that is a damn good reason, as they , the Ukes, have already lost this war.

      1. Much of the aid is worn out surplus US military equipment plus they get to recycle US war stockpiles of ammunition that have a best before date. Only a portion of it is cash subject to theft by corruption just like back in the US of A.

        1. He already knows it (all his identities do) but he does not want to hear it as it counters the narrative he has been pushing.

        2. “Much of the aid is worn out surplus US military equipment plus they get to recycle US war stockpiles of ammunition that have a best before date. ”

Yes, all of which needs to be replaced with new equipment and ammunition. That’s where the billions of dollars are being made, and why certain well-connected people very much wish for this war to continue *until the last dead Ukrainian*. For money.

          1. “Yes, all of which needs to be replaced with new equipment and ammunition. ”

Facepalm. Please borrow a braincell from someone (Tommy maybe as he isn’t using his). Ordnance has limited shelf life it needed to be replaced anyway. Hardware transferred is mostly old, it needed replacement anyway. Even you should be able to comprehend this.

  3. Improving countermeasure systems, Russian style: https://static.moscowtimes.ru/image/article_1360/25/2312312312.jpg

The context: Ukrainians seem to have devised a way to successfully attack the Russian planes that drop guided glide bombs on them from behind the front lines (7 planes down in the past few days). As a response, Pootin gave the Russian Air Force a copy of some holy icon. That tells you as much as you need to know about technological development is Russia.

    1. I don’t think 99.9% of Pakistanis will notice. The other half percent will enjoy the loot.

  4. But he’s a nice guy. Right?

Under the fog of war, Ukraine cancels its 2024 presidential elections
The Zelensky-led government has transformed the country into a totalitarian dictatorship, as there is no semblance of a liberal democracy left in Ukraine.

      1. “False

Elections cannot be held during martial law. ”

        Oh, really?

“Kiev, Jan 18: Ukrainian authorities have decided not to hold parliamentary and presidential elections amid the ongoing martial law which was imposed in the wake of Russia’s invasion in February 2022, Parliament Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk said.

“It has been decided that elections will not be held in Ukraine while martial law is in place,” Xinhua news agency quoted Stefanchuk as saying.”

Note the word “DECIDED”, Allan. They are making the choice not to do so.

“Russia can withdraw at any time.”

Yes…or they can stay as long as they like. What’s your point?

        1. “Oh, really?”

Yes really. A simple fact is that Ukraine is no position to hold elections now. It should be obvious to anyone with an IQ of at least five Freddies, meaning a tad below a retarded turnip.

          1. “Yes really. A simple fact is that Ukraine is no position to hold elections now.”

            Uh-huh…

““Kiev, Jan 18: Ukrainian authorities [HAVE DECIDED] not to hold parliamentary and presidential elections ”

Meaning: they DID consider it. Meaning: it IS possible. They just DECIDED (there’s that word again) not to do so.

“It should be obvious to anyone with an IQ of at least five Freddies, meaning a tad below a retarded turnip.”

If you say so, Simpleton ™…

          2. Well you are at one Freddie and need at least five.

            For example:
“Meaning: they DID consider it. Meaning: it IS possible. They just DECIDED (there’s that word again) not to do so.”

Typical one Freddie logic, Of course they considered it. They considered it and decided not to do it. Why? Because it was not possible to hold a fair universal election under the circumstances. Can someone with crayons and patience explain it to the resident village idiot please?

          3. “Typical one Freddie logic, Of course they considered it. They considered it and decided not to do it.”

Yes…LIKE I SAID above (try to keep up, little guy…). They considered it. And no one wastes time during a war considering anything that is clearly impossible, now do they?

Allan S. (aka Simpleton ™ #2) said “Elections cannot be held during martial law”. He was wrong, of course…countries CAN, and DO hold elections during martial law (look it up, loser).

“Why? Because it was not possible to hold a fair universal election under the circumstances.”

Or maybe because they just DON’T WANT to. Because Zelensky will lose, and he knows it. He closed radio and TV stations, shut down churches and political parties and arrested people who opposed him. There’s a word for people like him: they are called DICTATORS. And dictators like Putin and Zelensky just don’t like free elections, do they?

” Can someone with crayons and patience explain it to the resident village idiot please?”

            LOL…lend them yours, loser…

          4. “And no one wastes time during a war considering anything that is clearly impossible, now do they?”

You only know what is feasible AFTER you consider its feasibility, shortbus. It really isn’t hard to understand. Most people think before they act (foreign concept to you, I know, but do try to keep up), that is what Ukrainians did, they studied an issue and decided on the optimal course of action. It really isn’t hard to understand unless you truly are the dumbest regular here. You are. Literarily one Freddie is where IQ scales begin.

  5. Cameron MacDonald and Antonio Utano, two suspended federal officials from the ArriveScam affair, have petitioned the courts to have their suspensions lifted:
    https://www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/article-suspended-public-servants-ask-court-to-block-internal-cbsa-probe/

Under a G&M paywall. What happened was Blacklock’s Reporter came out with the story first, yesterday, then voila the Globe comes out with the story this morning. No other national media have bothered to cover this.

  6. “Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank are illegal under international law.”

“Israeli settlers rampaged through the occupied West Bank village of Burqa, northwest of Nablus, on the evening of 19 February, attacking homes and destroying vehicles under the protection and coordination of the Israeli military.

Settlers threw Molotov cocktails at several Palestinian homes as Israeli troops shut down all main roads to the village.”

    1. ““Israeli settlers rampaged through the occupied West Bank village of Burqa, northwest of Nablus, on the evening of 19 February, attacking homes and destroying vehicles under the protection and coordination of the Israeli military. ”

My mother would call that “a taste of their own medicine”.

(well, except for the distinct lack of torture, rape and murder)

If you’re looking for sympathy, look elsewhere.

      1. Oh I have. I was around big freighters most of my adult life. 37 years in the grain industry in Thunder Bay. There used to be a giant ore dock there as well. It still stands but the iron ore has stopped coming and the tracks have been removed. Like the one in Marquette Michigan, it’s kind of a cool reminder of the past.

    1. “https://www.timesofisrael.com/iran-says-israel-behind-gas-pipeline-sabotage-last-week/”

Conspicuously missing from that story: exactly *how* the sabotage occurred.

In one sentence they do slip up and call it a “strike”. Okay…so an air strike, then? A smart bomb or a missile?

      (dead silence)

Yeah…air strikes leave clear evidence, and they obviously have none. This was an internal affair by Iranian rebels who hate the government, and Iran is trying hard to cover that up by blaming Israel (as always).

  7. Mrs. Jones and I did this last September, highly recommended – Michigan’s Upper Peninsula is a hidden gem:

We actually had hoped to have some fall weather, but it was 30 degrees (Celsius) when we passed Marathon.

    1. “The US was the only member of the Council to vote against the call for a humanitarian ceasefire””

      GOOD.

A vote for a ‘ceasefire’ is a vote to save Hamas.

    1. How dare you!

Nowhere in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms does it say you lose your rights just because you cease to have a pulse.

Think of all the life-absent Canadians you want to deprive the votes of!

    1. “Proof of genocide against the Palestinian people – targeting the extermination of all their children.”

Any sort of ‘genocide’ that is being committed is being enabled by Hamas, by deliberately using the population of Gaza as *human shields* to protect themselves. Hamas could end this TOMORROW by releasing the hostages.
So why don’t they? Why don’t they choose to end this ‘genocide’ against their people, since they have the ability to do so *any time they want*?

All this death and destruction is what you and your kind WANT to happen, so stop whining about it when you get it.

    2. As an infidel I might have concerns if that doctor was my ophthalmologist who was operating on my eyes.

    https://rmx.news/netherlands/netherlands-wilders-calls-for-immediate-deportation-of-syrian-asylum-seeker-accused-of-groping-4-small-girls-in-dutch-swimming-pool-resort/

This brings up the parody of swimming pool instructions for migrants the EU did put in German public swimming pools:
