In Canada, it is nearly impossible for dairy, egg, or poultry farmers to incur losses due to the protective measures in place. However, there’s been an unusual development in British Columbia, where the board representing chicken farmers has sought to increase chicken prices without disclosing their reasons.

So the solution to the predations of a government sponsored Cartel is to ask the same government to intervene? What a pathetic effin Country.
Instead of this pro firma whining, get of your pathetic, cowardly arses and hit back with a campaign to inform the consumer about what’s happening.
All they have to do is blame the government, because that is who is responsible for increased production costs. As I said many times about many products, don’t buy it for a time, inventories build up prices go down.

Why do we have “exorbitant prices on imports”, because of the “supply management system” and the tariffs that it entails…
it’s also a drag on productivity, given that each farmer has a quota, and can’t do anything with any chickens above his or her quota, like for example making them available for export…
