I’ve been thinking of doing a country and western song, along the lines of, “take your fatwa and shove it up your fat wazoo…”
That was the work of the Spawn’s father and Pearson before him – driving us away from the UK and instead into a second rate US (desperately grasping for an identity) to be ruled, blackmailed, and exploited by the cultural ghetto and always resentful Quebec where they were culturally replacing the church with a form of national socialism.
Sounds like what I was saying 30+ years ago, although for some reason, it seems to be less of a taboo, “third-rail” subject than it was even 6 months ago.
Any thoughts as to why (i) it was taboo then and (i) seems less taboo now.

Could it be that the bleeding-hearts finally realize that their unicorn emblazed shield, rose colored glasses, and their blindly tolerant open mindedness , has maybe delivered a pestilence into a society that just may be terminal.
After all they have spent years getting rid of the notion being kind when it matters, and instead instilled a mind numbing utopian ideal in students for at least the last 20 years.

The destruction is complete. Most readers here at SDA already know we are past the point of fixing or repairing it. The problem is that most Canadians are unwilling to open their eyes and see what they have voted themselves into. We have long passed the post-national state that was celebrated, we are the first country to enter the new modernistic feudal-vassal economy otherwise known as serfdom. The joke however is on the politicians and bureaucrats that engineered this feat. The two forces that now run this country, the CCP and the islamists are now in charge and they don’t need the likes of petty politicians or bureaucrats anymore. Our betters, useless eaters that they are, will be the first loaded into the tumbrils.

Again, for anyone who was paying attention, this had been going on for some time. Why now?
Why now? Some thoughts. The legacy media are, hesitantly and reluctantly, reporting on it, and they are not immediately and strenuously denounced by the federal Liberals as racists for doing so. Alternative media, such as True North and Rebel Media, have large followings on social media where the truth on immigration is presented. Millennials are unable to move out from home because of the housing shortage and the over-inflated prices of homes resulting from high levels of immigration. Millennials at colleges and universities see first hand the overwhelming number of foreign students and often are minorities in their schools or classes.

To your excellent points I would add:
(1) the conflicts between warring groups in far away lands have been imported and are in full display for all to see (e.g.: Gaza/Israel; pro-government Eritreans/anti-government Eritreans…) and are often violent and angry;
(2) the friendlier, chattier people I know are generally Canadian born folks aged 50 or older and immigrants that landed in the 90s or earlier.
