“Safe” Supply

You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means.

Alex Berenson- Yet again, the better we get at “harm reduction,” the more people overdose and die

British Columbia’s “Safer Opioid Supply” program included lenient rules to encourage users to join. Doctors could write prescriptions even for people at high risk of overdose. Addicts did not have to enter treatment or even agree to counseling to participate. Canada’s national health insurance program even paid for the drugs.

  1. I consider it the equivalent of MAiD, without the attending physician. Given the encouragement we see for MAiD, I can’t help but think that is what is going on in the minds of those who push this freedom to use potentially deadly drugs. I will agree with this freedom to use any drugs when they follow up by not trying to resuscitate those who overdose.

    1. Alex Berenson asked the question “ how many deaths will it take to admit the failure of harm reduction”. One is inclined to answer, one, that of the person who originated the idea.

      Paul Thomas

  2. Never thought I’d live to see the day when the number 1 drug pusher is the government.

They’re encouraging and promoting drug addiction.
When more drugs are available, more people will use them. When more people use them, more will overdose. Why is this so hard for politiicians to understand?

  3. Brings to light the most terrifying expression. I’m from the government and I’m here to help.
That said lets encourage it to run rampant among politicians.

  4. It is not enough to substitute methadone for heroin. Without subsequent reduction in dosage, combined with counselling (therapy), the recidivism risk will remain high. “Tough Love” is a better approach than misplaced empathy.

  5. “…one of the businesses that is the pride of Canada.”
Oh sure. Tim Horton’s association with Canada begins and ends with Tim Horton himself and that’s pretty much it. It’s now owned by a Brazilian multi nat investment house… but their commercials would have you believe that purchasing a cup of their swill is as patriotic as scarfing down a “Beaver Tail” on the Rideau.

That said – I noticed franchisees are being a little more selective on their locations realizing that anything close to the downtown area is riff raff intense thus avoiding situations like above.

“purchasing a cup of their swill”
That would be the piss star bucks sells.
In China star bucks sells good coffee, not the piss they sell over here
      Try keeping up wood jah?

        1. Also, be sure to try a pangolin sandwich and a cup of bat soup, Burton.

Pro tip: If the bat is still doing the back stroke in the cup. It hasn’t simmered down long enough. Wait another hour, then stop back for the soup.

  6. Like every industry the left construct it needs to grow so more liberals can get hired, they don’t seem to care atall at the harm they are doing to the addicts?

Actually they are to “spun” (out of touch) to understand the impact of their failing approach, in this area , and also in other areas were they try their failed approaches.
I know a few people who work/worked in psychiatric, troubled youth venues .

    1. You have a point, Joseph. That probably explains why sales are so slow at my hemlock tea kiosk.

Some days I give out free samples. But they never seem to come back to buy a full order. And I’m still trying to solve the problem of no repeat customers. It’s hard to build a small business without regular customers.

  7. Does the money flow to the “harm reduction specialists”? if yes, then the program is a success, since the “harm reduction specialists” would otherwise be harmed if the money didn’t flow.

Every government program is designed to not solve the alleged problem, because if the problem is solved, then there is no more money.

    1. Exactly as JD says.
The programme expands to consume all available dollars, with even less relief for the afflicted.
This is the State of Thuggery murdering druggies.
      Right out in the open.
Eugenics and all the Nasties of Old are all back to “Help Us ” some more.
And as these Murderous Parasites kill off the existing stock of Druggies, their comrades and fellow travellers are working inside the Public Schools to create more..
What the … is “Safe Fentanol Use?”
Just as our fine State Thugs, over at the RCMP protect their “Clients” first..All they want from the tax payer is money…Serve and Protect?? Who dat?

  8. Just legalize it, let the free market set prices, and Darwin take the hindmost, as God intended.

  9. Socialist morons feeding on drug addicts.. Drug addicts feeding socialist morons.. Its hard to tell just who is to blame?.. Not a honest genuine agenda in the room.. = Failure..

  10. My Save-On-Foods store now requires you to obtain a ‘security code’ from customer service in order to use the bog. When you enter, a ghastly low level green lighting comes on. Specifically because it makes it difficult for junkies to find a vein.

    Brave New World indeed.

    1. Because of the junkies the McDonalds in downtown Barrie ON closed in store dinning for a year now. Just drive though and take out only, and no you can’t use the restroom.
