The federal government will stop funding grant applications if the researchers working on them are affiliated with a foreign military, state security entities or certain foreign state actors, citing a need to protect Canadian national security.
Ottawa made the announcement Tuesday evening, and following a report from The Globe and Mail last month that since 2005, 50 Canadian universities have had extensive research collaborations with China’s military. The projects with China’s National University of Defence Technology included areas like quantum cryptography, photonics and space science, the newspaper reported.
Now, Innovation Minister François-Philippe Champagne says protecting Canadian research is a matter of national security and cited “recent events” when asked about the decision.

1. Just because the Lieberals say they’ll do something doesn’t mean they’ll do it.
2. The fine print “federal grants in a sensitive research area will not be funded…” Nothing will be deemed sensitive.
3. Embrace the power of the word “and”.
I’ve been seeing this for a couple of days, and it seems to me that Canada is broke. So, the Canadian government will stop funding research that goes to the Chinese military.

If the Chinese want to be given the results of Canadian research with military applications, then the Chinese will bloody well have to provide the grants to the researchers themselves. Take THAT, China!
The military application research and the Canada/China relationship wasn’t proscribed. It’s just that Canada will no longer fund it.
Yeah. Get tough, Canada. Way to guard Canadian military research.

I just read a rather disturbing report on another site relating how Chinese labs have produced a new virus with supposedly 100% lethal effect on “humanized mice” which are proxies for human beings in terms of how their genetics cope with a virus.
So I got to thinking, why would China want to develop a virus with that capability? The two most obvious possible reasons would be (a) to reduce their population, or (b) to eliminate people living in countries they had designs on taking over.

I’ve been saying since the COVID debacle that the biggest takeaway is that China has the capability of creating designer diseases and are actually working on it. The implications for the human race are staggering.

Canada is a Chinese ally posing as a member of NATO. Our military isn’t in shambles by accident.
Research needs to look into what happened to their spines.

So they will continue funding research that benefits china, as long as it doesn’t easily fit into whatever box they claim they don’t want to fund… without understanding there is nothing outside of the state in china
How to deal with it:
Inform the perpetrator’s you are coming, and that if they do not immediately cease and desist, you will kill every one of them as foreign spies.
Do so.
