  5. In retrospect of what is happening and has happened in the recent past I believe it is prudent to watch the Netflix documentary ” Ordinary Men”. What happened is a stark reminder of what can happen when a group in power get10% of people fully on board and the rest sleep walk following the propaganda. It is also a reminder of what can happen when you dehumanize groups.

    To learn the truth about how hard a life Gazans led before October 7, forget the North American media. Everything in there is lies put about by Hamas.

    Read this report by Israeli photographer and IDF reservist Roi Yanovsky instead. Compared to Israelis, Gazans lived a charmed life before October 7, at the expense of Western taxpayers. Arguably they lived better than Canadians did. Yanovsky writes:

    Note that their trip was paid for by a registered charity, The Canadian Mudlim Vote. If one checks their 2022 CRA financial information, one finds that:

    1. There were $0 tax-receiptable contributions from the public, this when the charity site has the standard “contribute” feature as with any charity. Moreover a number of web sites feature Muslim Vote as a charity for people to contribute to.;

    2. Muslim Vote lists its CEO as earning between $80,000-$120,000 a year, and paid $14,000+ for two part-time employees, yet the charity lists only $40,608 as total compensation paid. The listed CEO compensation is very high for a charity with only $220,623 total revenues in 2022;

    3. Of the $220,623 in total revenues, nearly all of it, $220,268, came from other registered charities. (A small amount came from interest income). It turns out that Islamic Relief Canada contributed $156, 571, leaving something like $65,000 from other charities. Yet Muslim Vote states that it spent $67,251 on “fundraising costs”. This is a ridiculously high amount to obtain a cheque from Islamic Relief Canada and a few other charities;

    4. Muslim Vote also spent $57,578 in management and administration, a high figure for the total $304,421 (note that the charity ran a high deficit in 3022).

    More on this charity needs to be researched. Their charity web page is very thin as to how the charity is run.
