The Part I Like Best

About drug decriminalization is the way Safe Supply saves lives.

The Vancouver man who opened a drug store in the Downtown Eastside selling illicit hard drugs has died from a reported overdose.

Jerry Martin opened The Drugs Store out of a mobile trailer in the heart of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside selling drugs such as cocaine, heroin and methamphetamines that were advertised as clean with no impurities or harmful additives.

  1. Pure drugs.
    Laced with fentanyl and untouched by human hands.

  2. “There will be no curiosity, no enjoyment of the process of life. All competing pleasures will be destroyed. But always— do not forget this, Winston— always there will be the intoxication of power, constantly increasing and constantly growing subtler. Always, at every moment, there will be the thrill of victory, the sensation of trampling on an enemy who is helpless. If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face— forever. ”

    Some make faces.
    Some wear the boots.

  3. I find it hard to believe that anyone thinks they can eradicate hard drug use in cities.
    Seems to me that those on the left want to push the drugs, and those on the right want to punish the users.
    The right thinks legalizing drugs is the same as encouraging them, and cannot discriminate between simply not sending armed goons after users and having needle exchanges in schools.
    Our society is now so dumbed down and cowed that no recovery is possible.

    Turning and turning in the widening gyre
    The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
    Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
    Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
    The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
    The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
    The best lack all conviction, while the worst
    Are full of passionate intensity.

    Surely some revelation is at hand;
    Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
    The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
    When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
    Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert
    A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
    A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
    Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
    Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
    The darkness drops again; but now I know
    That twenty centuries of stony sleep
    Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
    And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
    Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

  4. . Did he OD? Or was he OD’d? Drug Dealers always have competition.

    Looks like the police shut him down? Maybe he lost his “clean” supply.

  5. Making drugs more widely available will lead to lower drug use. We elected those people.

  6. You’re getting old….I think you posted this last summer when he died. 😀

    Me too…I can’t go down a flight of stairs without forgetting why I went down them.

    1. I’ve had bacon, eggs, and toast every morning for the past 40 years and I can’t remember what I had for breakfast.

      1. I keep forgetting to put those in my shoes. I walk around with them in my hands and my wife is like “what the hell are you doing?”.

  7. Drugs store. Out of a trailer.
    Ha ha…. Ricky already did this. Except he’s not dead.
