O, Sweet Saint Of San Andreas

Hear my prayer.

A hostile crowd formed around officers who chased down an armed robbery suspect on the edge of the Union Square neighborhood, San Francisco police said Friday.

The confrontation occurred about 11 p.m. Dec. 21 in the 200 block of Ellis Street at Mason Street.

Police said a man wearing a balaclava jumped over a counter, brandished a firearm and ran off with cash.

Officers saw a person who matched the suspect’s description running from the scene and arrested a man with a loaded firearm after a brief struggle.

During the arrest, an antagonistic crowd formed around the officers and suspect, police said. Officers were able to transport the man to a secure location for their own safety and the safety of the suspect.

    1. “Kiss and release.”

Any law-abiding citizen caught carrying a weapon in California will of course be subject to the most draconian punishment imaginable.

  1. If the crowd could have freed George Floyd, they would have. There were enough people there, that they delayed the Ambulance and EMTS from getting to George Floyd.

The only thing that stopped them was Tuo Thao was facing them down trying to de-escalate the situation. For that he was imprisoned on both state and federal charges.

    1. George Flyod died from Covid and a drug overdose. Autopsy showed conclusively that it nothing to do with Derek Chauvin’s arrest procedure and the (knee on his neck).

George was arrested for passing counterfeit $20 notes at a convenience store, money which was in a pallet in the nightclub George and Derek worked together at.

George had enough drugs, including fentynal, to kill him many times over. The crowd would have not been able to save his life.

Hope this helps your narrative adjustment.

      1. I don’t think it was implied they could have rescued him, read it again. It was implied that they delayed the EMTs, thus preventing the slim chance of getting naloxone into him fast enough to prevent the OD death.

        1. It’s entirely possible that giving him naloxone would have saved him from the fentanyl, but resulted in his heart exploding from the meth, given his preexisting cardiac condition

  2. “During the arrest, an antagonistic crowd formed around the officers and suspect, police said. Officers were able to transport the man to a secure location for their own safety and the safety of the suspect. ”

Sounds as if they would have done the same for the murderers and rapists of Kitty Genovese.

    1. ‘the truth will out’.
holey mackerel. for *me* the Genovese case has now only taken 60 years.
ny times sensationalizing the story to sell papers.that hasnt changed.

    1. In San Fran (and probably Oakland) they should put the innocent people in jail and let the criminals roam the streets. It would be cheaper and safer for all.

      1. … and now the A’s

In fact, I just flew through Las Vegas and saw The Tropicana Hotel (which sits on a huge lot, next door to The MGM Grand) that will be torn-down for the new Las Vegas A’s stadium. BTW … The MGM owns virtually EVERYTHING on The Strip from the MGM to and including the Bellagio. And The MGM is very pleased to have the Oakland, err Las Vegas A’s as their next door neighbor.

Meanwhile … the Communists in Oakland don’t like spending public money on buildings for jocks. Jocks who mocked and taunted them in HS. No, they were never directly mocked or taunted … but they just didn’t like jocks or sports, so now that they’re in power … they’ll make sure “the jocks “ don’t get a stadium.

Funny thing … an UBER driver told me that the biggest traffic jams and crowds in Vegas have been when Elton John plays at the Raiders stadium in Vegas. 60,000 seats SOLD OUT for a homosexual piano player. Nope. Not a jock. But Leftists running Oakland don’t think that deeply. They’ve all but forgotten the endemic “Days on the Green” at the Oakland Coliseum in the 1970’s.

So now Oakland has NO sports franchise or stadium. Well … TBF they DO have a women’s pro soccer team … the Oakland Soul. I do hope The Soul get their first “transgender” player soon.

  3. rumour has it SF has been removed from the Russian nuke target list seeing as its of no strategic use to ‘mercuh any more anyway.

    ha ha ha !!!!
l have autism and candidly admit *some* social norms, unwritten rules, etc are contradictory and create a measure of confusion. and thats on me, l admit.
    but, SF . . . .
ye gawds why would the city officials do THAT to their OWN city?
baffling. and always will be to me.

      1. That is stupid to the 3rd power.

“What if we let people shit in the streets?”
        “Sounds good.”

“What if we let people shoot up on the sidewalks?”
        “Sounds good.”

“What if we let people break into stores and carry off whatever they want?”
        “Even better! ”

“I need to get started on that tourism campaign immediately. People will be dying to come here.”

        “Well, actually…”

    1. Antioch is black and Mexican … and mostly criminal. It’s become like Modesto … a criminal hellhole on the edge of the Central Valley.

It’s really sad, because Antioch used to be all Italian farmers. It’s where I’d go to pick cherries and other fruits at harvest time. Now, it’s where drive-by’s and home invasion robberies are common.

  4. According to localcrimenews.com, which lists his middle name as Khlani, Ervin has been arrested 12 times since March 2021 by multiple agencies including Oakland PD, San Francisco PD, Alameda County Sheriff’s Department and Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Department for a variety of gun and drug crimes, assault with a deadly weapon – no firearm, likely to cause great bodily injury of a peace officer or fireman, hit-and-run resulting in an injury, and evading police with wanton disregard for safety.

  5. Politics doubling down on weakness.. Supremacy groups popping up all over the place.. In case you didn’t notice..

    1. According to the Primetime Network TV Shows, all the crimes committed in LA are committed by Racist White Nationalist Gangs.

  6. Yet further proof that SF is currently precisely the way it is … because the residents there want it that way.

The APEC event got things cleaned up for one week. Now it’s back as before. And the vast majority of residents will reelect exactly the same people again. So they WANT THIS!!!

    1. And, Robert … after APEC … the city tried to sell Union Square as a “safe” fabulous winter wonderland of shopping and tourism. London Breed was lighting the Christmas (née Kwanza) tree and gay men’s choirs were singing secular Holiday tunes.

I want to see the sales figures. I have my prediction.

It used to be an annual journey for my family to see the SF Ballet perform the Nutcracker and shop the bustling streets of Union Square. No more. Not interested. And where I expected to introduce my grandchildren to that special experience… ? Now, there’s NO WAY. Ever. Congrats Leftists! You’ve “created” (read: destroyed) exactly what you wanted.

  7. While you are all pounding on America and the problems there we are overlooking the problems here at home and elsewhere all over the world. I would guess that this is due to the Canadian media and their practice of censoring and editing the news that we are allowed to see and hear. When the full effect of censoring the internet takes place we will be encapsulated in a government enforced bubble to ensure our ignorance. Till then realize that the unrest that is being foisted upon us is not just happening locally:

  8. Futher to my previous post I’d like to posit this here as this gentleman’s attitude does bring some hope.

I would add that in addition to his platform list a 2nd. Amendment clause would not be amiss.

The failure of the Reform party here in Canada was, IMHO, a failure to implement the Reform proposals quickly enough and as a result we fell into a state of complacency. To those advocating voting for the CPC I would direct this warning, the direction of today’s CPC is nothing more than a backward step in complacency. We are reaching a point, whether you are aware of it or not, of battle-lines being drawn. A point in time where you will have to choose between continuing quickly down the path that the Liberals/Dippers have chosen, a slower descent as advocated by the CPC, or a path that was being explored twenty years ago that the PPC are willing to once again venture onto. 2024 may prove to be the turning point and in any case once the path is chosen, make no mistake, there will be no turning back. The path of the last eight years has been a slow and steady trek into the subversion of totalitarianism and once arrived at you can completely abandon all hope for a brighter and safer future. Having said my piece, thanks for your comments in the past and I wish each and every one of you a Happy New Year! Deus Vult.
