  1. When cultural Marxists marched through the institutions, big corporations were high on the list. Look at Silicon Valley. Big business isn’t looking for free market capitalists in management, they want rent seekers unburdened with morality. It’s been that way for decades.

  3. What would be a reasonable timeline expectation to see this type of deliberate self sabotage show up in negative business performance? IOW what short would make sense? Is there a “180-opposite-of-blackrock” investment fund out there?

    So that leaves how much space for white males and Asian tech workers??

      My guess is that to meet the targets they’ll need to fire a whole bunch of Asians and white males.

    Permanent last place in the league would be guaranteed starting in the second year of his leadership.

    It’s sad to see IBM morph from a proud customer service driven meritocracy to a firm where social engineering dominates.

    White – 16.8%
    Latino – 33.16%
    Asian – 0.4%
    The answer is obvious: The over represented Asians at IBM should go play basketball in the NBA. Problem solved!

      1. Yup, applies to all sports. Where are the white sprinters or the black swimmers? Why do Kenyans dominate in marathons?
        Why do female high jumping and pole vault events feature (usually) gorgeous white chicks? (Hint – smaller asses to get off the ground.)

  10. This a tragedy of the commons market failure. IBM as an organization must meet the needs of the shareholders and the market or it will fail. Individual employees don’t care and this includes the CEO. The individuals at the company are maximizing their personal utility (money, social status, whatever) at the expense of the group resource (IBM market goodwill).

    The fact that in the long run their personal actions (including the featured mid-wit in the video) will eventually sink the very ship they are riding in doesn’t matter to them. In the short run it benefits them now. And this short sighted viewpoint is at fault for many similar tragedy of the commons failures such as Disney or journalism.

    Once these organizations perish there will remain others that worked on building long term value.
