We need the doctors; My buddies who work in HR are telling me it’s a nightmare to hire tech talent since Trudeau started flooding the market with cheap imported labour. Every job ad gets hundreds of applications, including from international students looking for full-time work…

My son graduated with a computer science degree during the height of the covid lockdowns. He is still looking for work. He says it’s a good day when he gets a negative response. My son is smart, honest and very good at what he does, but he is a white male. Just sayin….
Didn’t you get the memo???
War has been declared against the White race, everywhere on planet Earth
Perhaps he could “identify” as another race or perhaps trans?
btm o f the pile unless he submits it on rainbow paper
Has he thought of moving abroad?
Any company failing to hire what Trudeau considers to be the just proportion of immigrants will be charged with illegal hiring practices.
My old company’s phone book reads like it was right out of shitholeville.
But…

and you have to avoid the unCanadians!

LOL. I think the ship has sailed. Small town here I come!
Small towns are facing their own crises now. Government retirees with gold plated COLA pensions are selling their mega inflated big city real estate and buying up housing in smaller towns. Then their hand ringing, pearl clutching do goodism seeks out to import the dregs in order to flatter their self righteous egos. In the meantime, the long term small town residents try to understand why Christmas trees and carolling are deemed insensitive.
The strange thing is, the College of Quacks does its best to keep BETTER trained doctors from other countries out of the business here in Canada. They did it for decades with South African doctors who were much better trained than locals. Sort of like a union.
Does anyone really believe in the “better trained doctor from South Africa” anymore? I mean South Africa began it’s descent about 40 years ago and now is a disaster zone. Why would they have superior training?
They most certainly did have the best trained doctors for many years. Doctors had several more years of training than doctors in Canada. Many of them got the hell out of South Africa and despite roadblocks put up here came to Canada but got shoved out to areas in the boonies. I had an excellent doctor who had to go to a island off Newfoundland. He told me that at the time, Newfoundland had a huge backlog of tonsillectomies that needed to be done and he said he had done hundreds of them in S.A. They wouldn’t let him. The College of Quacks in Canada need their asses kicked hard because they are operating almost like a union gatekeeper these days. They especially screwed up with their dictates to doctors during COVID.
AFAIK tonsillectomies aren’t routinely done anymore because they do more harm than good. The fact that this doctor thought that there was a backlog of this outdated treatment shows how backward his training was.
This is true. We had a locum in a small town in Northern Ontario who was a great doctor. He moved back to SA. Then we ended up with some communist POS who went to school in New York. He kicked a bunch of people out of the clinic because of facebook posts & medical disagreements. A complete disaster.
They also have agreements with various universities to limit the number of seats in the MD programs, not that there is any “competition” in Canada
I am a hiring manager for accounting jobs, i posted for a AP coordinator (you cant call anyone a clerk anymore) and I got over 300 resumes. all with very sketchy qualifications and almost no experience.
Nobody wants applicants w/ experience, ’cause nobody wants to pay for said experience. That’s my experience re: job hunting.
Its near impossible for my employer to replace people.. A specialized trade with nobody in the pipe able to hit the ground running.. No front end and no job descriptions anymore.. 4X Journeymen, who are expected to do 10 different jobs because they can.. Well paid but the clock is ticking..
Everything I do is interconnected.. You can’t find another me and you can’t hire 4 kids to replace me.. Im a Dodo bird, soon to be extinct.. I work in the printing industry.. The 2008 crash broke our back..
Meh.
Can’t fix stupid.
Can fix just about any technical problem..but increasingly the heart of every system failure is human..
So many useless safety features and fail-safes that the crash is the expected result.
“Just shut off the power for 30 seconds”.
“Reboot it”.
Totally missing the point that the program is the problem..
And that a permanent repair is impossible ,when the failure is unknown..
Hence your average modern automobile, mystery failures before it is even broken in..
Are all their computer systems based on “Microsoft Software”?
Rhetorical question..of course it is.
We,as a society, have discouraged the development of technologically skilled tradesmen. We tax activities we wish to discourage!.So a chronic shortage of those who can make shit work again is here.
Doctors?
After Dread Covid Theatre, should we be trusting any Government paid Doctor?
Seems you might be far safer befriending a Vet.
And sticking to home treatment of any wounds.
Remember Government Doctors must obey Government instruction..
Or that is what they are telling us now..
As the Covid Lies are exposed, one by one..questioning of surviving Doctors produces the “We were just following orders” defence.
As for resumes, round file 13 awaits..
Resumes have become utter trash.
Corrupted by the Human Resource Disease.
Nought but lies and read only for amusement.
“It depends what the meaning of “Is” is”.
Actions are all we can use,so the employer is now at risk with every new hire..Will it work out,or will it be a trial?
Did you expect anything different in a welfare society?
One where grievance and victimhood are the paths to virtue?
And in this Kleptocracy, being an employer comes with the risk of criminal punishment..How do you buy insurance for that?
What rate do you charge to cover that risk?
Why would you even bother?
As Canada collapses, these “shortages” will compound and grow in an exponential manner.
The competent are punished for doing.
The incompetent can’t do,yet are rewarded for existing, using the wealth raped from the competent..
So it is crashing..surprise surprise..Canadians who actually do productive work are not as stupid as those freeloaders imagine.
Kind of like the conundrum of revolution against our status quo.
Those with the tools and competency in their use, do not want to go there.
Those who want to go there lack the skills needed.
Those that can,won’t.
Those that want to, can’t.
Which is why we have been treated to the Antifa Theatre..Play acting by useless idiots, held in safe Demon Controlled enclaves.
Yet time is running out.
The fools really should have Left Us Alone.
LUA..
I am now convinced this must be burned into the forehead of every wanna be helper, who seeks to “serve us”.
They really are so stupid that they embrace all evil, believing themselves endowed with supreme wisdom and the best of all intentions.
Not quite sure how to make a catchy phrase out of L.U.A.
Back to work.
John – back in the day had an offspring who qualified as a vet. From that time on, said kid was the first one called in when I didn’t like what I saw with Mum (who was – by this time – in her mid-90’s). The family joke was that Granny’s primary care physician was a vet.
Mum had no problem with this; she’d been so proud of the kid that she’d reintroduced said kid to everyone in her condo: “Have you met my grandchild, the vet, Dr …?”.
When Mum landed in a home for her last few months, we all visited regularly. But it was the vet who was the least hesitant on calling them out on poor care when required.
One can do much worse than having a vet in the family.
Do we need fake doctors from the 3rd world? Because they are fake.
Are they now? Who says? You? And it’s you who is using the phrase “3rd world”….straw man, much? Seems like you have a dog in the fight.
I can’t imagine hiring tech people, having to interview people who are clearly not telling the truth, having to say…
“get out, get out now” after 3 minutes of what’s set up to be 30 minutes of talk…
In the trades, I get an email everyday from indeed.ca with a list of positions available with pay rates.
Without the printed documents from the various provincial apprenticeship boards, I think faking it is real difficult.
Next year, there’ll be 500k new Canadians, all not too interested in sleeping outside, they’ll all want electricity, hot water, warmth in their house.
None of them qualify for the trades in anything beyond year 1 apprentice, though some of them are given an advanced placement for example, “the gov’t said I’m a year 3 bla bla bla”. Does nobody in the federal gov’t stop to ask themselves, “what is in common between the Nigerian water works, and Canada’s water works” ?? Except that they’re both wet, there are no commonalities, the various Canadian pipe, and electrical trades have little to do with Nigeria’s pipe trades.
So it falls back to Canadian educated tradespeople to build these.
and there’s not enough to replace those who are retiring, never mind build out for an additional 500k
and there isn’t going to be for a minimum of 4 years from now, that’s if they were taught enough basic math in school
The next decade is going to make the past decade look like the good times were never going to end.

Amid all this ribaldry, there is an issue in that Canadians who wish to be doctors but don’t obtain admission to Canadian universities are known to go abroad to get their training. \
Happens in other fields; offspring who wanted to be a vet but who was not good enough for the vet school at the University of Saskatchewan went abroad; one of the first things we noticed was that there was an Ontario licence plate on a vehicle parked on the road leading up to the uni (this particular town had a lot of universities/tech colleges). Said offspring excelled but had to jump through some extra hoops to get Canadian accreditation. One of said hoops was a special “hands-on” exam held over five days at – you guessed it – the Vet College at Saskatoon. Cut the details, but kid got there and passed. Apparently, though, there was an interesting discussion with someone from admin who had looked at kid’s record abroad and said “why not us”, to which kid said “you rejected me”.
But, back to the main subject: the government needs to find ways to allow Canadians studying abroad as doctors and other needed professions to be able to to internships, etc., or whatever back in Canada.
Canadian firms pay garbage wages. I make 60% more working remotely for a us silicon valley company than I could in Canada. I’m actually being ripped off a little even at that rate. Canada sucks and no wonder only crappy fake scammers apply.
