1. I was searching for a link earlier, it will probably be a quote in the NP story tomorrow. On the radio I heard the CB guy at the press conference quoted as saying “we asked Canadians what they thought” and “this survey does not represent Canadian opinion because… blah, blah, blah ”

   Talk about scumbags. They fully intend to implement tyrannical digital currencies ASAP whether the populace wants it or not. To hell with them (metaphorically, of course).

   One might also ask why did they do an internet poll if they considered it worthless. Perhaps, had it supported their view, they would have considered it legitimate and valid and implementing such would be de facto following the science.

   As I said, scumbags.

      Why metaphorically? Surely they belong in Hell for deliberately ignoring the will of the people?

2. We already have digital money.. Debit and credit cards.. Drafts?.. What’s the point of this?..

   1. The point is to make sure that the government sees every transaction, and cuts off those who are doing something “unapproved”

      1. The Government already does that, JD. Remember the frozen accounts during the convoy?
         And per John” above, we have been “digital” for quite some time.
         Don’t you all check your bank data online?

         1. Except that you CAN still use physical cash for almost everything. That’s what they want to eliminate.

   2. In my view this move to so-called “digital currency” provides the average citizen with no advantage over our current system whatsoever, as you John have so ably described.
      So why such emphasis on a speedy implementation?
      Authoritarian control perhaps? Deplete millions of bank accounts at the push of a button, rendering bank notes and coins useless?
      Will people simply be allowed to opt out?
      I am not optimistic.
      Someone please educate me.

3. This survey is actually pretty brutal and went horribly wrong for them. Look at page 30 trust in institutions. Basically no one trusts these scumbags at all. Very good to see.

   Pg 33 – 85% would not use a digital dollar. That’s a victory right there.

4. I have to give the bureaucrats some credit..
   At least they published the results of their survey.
   The response is damning.
   So of course the Liberals will impose a digital dollar.
   Then they will complain about the cost of the program and wail about the lack of public use..
   But not until the Conservatives hold office.
   I will be using Canadian Tire Paper as script.
