What productive business wouldn’t like a 35% tax credit for each employee they hire? Oh, wait, that’s a perk reserved for truly unproductive businesses. It’s the modern day equivalent of subsidies for the buggy whip industry, primarily designed to pay off Justin’s water carriers.
The government’s fall economic statement announced an increase to the Canadian Journalism Tax Credit, a refundable tax credit allowing qualifying news outlets to claim up to 35 per cent of up to $85,000 in salary for a qualified employee.
That should bring Liberal poll numbers up amongst Canadians.

It should be obvious to anyone looking at Canada’s news media that it is so completely under the influence of the Liberal Government that it is in effect controlled by them.
The problem (opportunity) is that as the MSM becomes more dependant on government handouts, the more certain their collapse when those handouts are suddenly removed (hint,hint Pierre). The CBC and the Star are two who come immediately to mind, thus their strident anti-Pierre message, but the others are only slightly less endangered. Prepare for the inevitable cries for bailouts as newsrooms collapse. The pressure will be on Pierre to extend a lifeline to those media outlets although why the CPC should bailout liberal presstitutes is not obvious. Maybe the displaced inkstained wretches can be retrained as oil workers. Picture Aaron Wherry or Glen McGregor pumping gas or sweating on a drilling rig. Learn to drill babies.
