Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

What They Say About SDA
"Smalldeadanimals doesn't speak for the people of Saskatchewan" - Former Sask Premier Lorne Calvert
"I got so much traffic after your post my web host asked me to buy a larger traffic allowance." - Dr.Ross McKitrick
Holy hell, woman. When you send someone traffic, you send someone TRAFFIC.My hosting provider thought I was being DDoSed. - Sean McCormick
"The New York Times link to me yesterday [...] generated one-fifth of the traffic I normally get from a link from Small Dead Animals." - Kathy Shaidle
"You may be a nasty right winger, but you're not nasty all the time!" - Warren Kinsella
"Go back to collecting your welfare livelihood." - Michael E. Zilkowsky
Well they already got black boxes in Ford trucks…
Most tractor trailers already have a governor on their engine. There are, however, ways to disconnect it as many truckers will tell you.
It gets worse. “You will soon be a PRISONER in your own car: Mandatory vehicle “kill switch” will disable driving based on bad performance.”
https://www.naturalnews.com/2023-11-12-prisoner-car-mandatory-vehicle-kill-switch.html
“The federal government has mandated that all vehicles sold after 2026 must have a kill switch that can disable your vehicle based on your driving performance,” “The term ‘advanced drunk and impaired driving prevention technology means a system that … can … passively monitor the performance of the driver of a motor vehicle to accurately identify whether that driver may be impaired; and … prevent or limit motor vehicle operation if an impairment is detected …”
In other words, new cars in 2026 and beyond will contain not just a breathalyzer ignition interlock but also an embedded kill switch that allows a third party, including the government, to turn off a person’s car, leaving him or her stranded until someone reengages the vehicle.
If they install them in the US vehicles, they will be in Canadian vehicles too.
Remember driving in a bad Blizzard?
You are constantly on the gas, off the gas, turning left and right, veering all over the road as the ruts catch a tire, speeding up, slowing down, turning into the skid, stopping, starting, slipping and sliding. If you recreated that performance on dry roads with sunny skies? You would swear that driver is a drunken maniac, and so would your automobile’s Stasi chips.
So, in the middle of a blizzard, your car will stop and turn itself off, including the f*#%i g HEAT, and lock you and your children into your own car to freeze to death!?
This batshit insane, stupid, Orwellian Fascist Idiocy will get people killed!
Gosh, I wonder why new cars are so expensive. Government mandated features today probably drive 35% of the cost of a new vehicle. I want my ’72 Ford F250 back.
To wit…this article is dated but gets the point across. Just as home ownership is now out of the reach of a goodly percent of the working class, the same put-upon citizens will in future never be able to afford a new vehicle.
https://americansforprosperity.org/epa-to-revise-government-mandate-that-caused-car-prices-to-skyrocket/
There is already speed limiting tech in cars, and this will go well with the government mandated remote shut offs…
We are all Cubans!
Wanna see brand new cars with crate motors installed right away?
When I was a kid, R&T magazine was the only car magazine I ever read.. The comments below this story confirm what I’d thought others who read it were like as well…

About 10,000 fewer people die per year in automobile accidents now than in the late 70’s when the federal 55mph was the law of the land.

The driver had an extensive criminal history, he should have been in prison. Most stories don’t mention that. Also, he is black, maybe that’s why people are afraid to mention the history about him

Oh look…another government entity looking to further control citizens. Not surprised. It is the usual “inflict the punishment on everyone for the few idiots who cause the problem”.

There are 233,000,000 drivers in the US. The percentage of those killed by speeding is .005%
Not “…abundantly clear…”
*I’m surprised that nobody has yet mentioned “cel phones” causing accidents and deaths yet, even though the Transport Canada figures support the well known stat that both accidents and deaths have fallen since the last few years of the previous century, exactly when cellular devices started to become popular items.
Note too, the increase in vehicles on the roads…
https://tc.canada.ca/en/road-transportation/statistics-data/canadian-motor-vehicle-traffic-collision-statistics-2021
Step 1, reduce max speed in cars.
Step 2, lower speed limits in urban areas.
Show accident statistics improved.
Step 3, lower speed limits even more.
Even better accident statistics.
Step 4, lower speed limits and max speed in cars to that of a bicycle
Outcome: People give up cars, and turn every city into 1960 Beijing, nothing but bikes on the streets.
Change my mind.
yah that works. bikes for 20-yr. olds in 6 months of winter snow.
No one uses all the bike lanes anywhere, except on warm sunny summer weekends.
If they get that one thru and if It happens ,It will be every new car, I would expect blowing into a tube every time you drive to shortly follow.
I can’t begin to express just how dangerous that idea is. Consider a scenario where you pull out to overtake a transport truck, only to discover that there’s another vehicle in front of it; oncoming traffic is approaching and then your speed limiter kicks in… or how about a situation where you’re passing a tractor trailer on a snowy day and suddenly the trailer starts to fishtail. You need to be able to accelerate quickly to avoid hazards.
Chris, the a holes that come up with this shit never drove professionally, ever.
