There’s a limit to how nauseatingly anti-Semitic even the Grey Lady can be. She is the elite newspaper of the city with the largest Jewish community in the world outside Israel.

Moreover, the part of that elite that is of Jewish ancestry wants to leave the option open of fleeing to Israel themselves if people like Sisters Rashida and Ilhan ever achieve real power. The NYT are hardly going to call for the destruction of what their readers think is a Costa del Crime for Jewish criminals and subversives fleeing justice in the Diaspora.
To put it w bit differently,, the editors of the NYT are only “pro-Israel” the way that the celebrated journalist Michael Chomiak was pro-Canada.

They don’t actually care if Arabs murder Jews who aren’t themselves, and rarely, if ever, give Israel more than the bare minimum of moral support required to maintain appearances and not lose too many subscribers.

The Washington Post cartoon wasn’t very funny. Arab correspondents were mostly outraged Hamas was criticized at all. Anything that did the hypocrisy and depravity of Hamas justice—and might even have raised a few smiles among people with any business outside a lunatic asylum—would never have run in Jeff Bezos’ poor attempt to revive the Dearborn Independent.
