An offer he can’t refuse

As the strike by workers at Manitoba Public Insurance drags on, Wab Kinew is finding out that the very people that he thought were carrying water for him during the election are not as grateful as he had hoped. If he didn’t see this coming, then it’s pretty clear that the guy is already in over his head. If he’s not careful, he’ll be the next Bob Rae.

The MPI strike lasting more than two months will continue after the union representing the workers rejected an offer from the employer Monday.

MGEU members voting “overwhelmingly” to turn down the offer, according to union president Kyle Ross.

  1. Hi Wab-

This is your chance to show Manitobans who you really are. There were no public servants prior to the colonizers showing up in Manitoba so privatize everything that Manitoba Public Insurance does. Next door in Ontario virtually everything that MPI does is done by private sector companies. Call Doug Ford and he’ll explain how privatizing gives Ontario residents better service and lower costs.

  2. When you ignore the leftys’ efforts to seek attention, they eventually turn on themselves. Unfortunately, it takes much longer than expected.

  3. I don’t expect Kinew to fight with Trudeau, (over the carbon tax,) as much as he did with a cab driver, or his girlfriend.

  4. It’s actually hilarious. Instead of dealing with MPI for claims, now Manitobans just go directly to the people who actually do the repairs.

MPI employees might be striking themselves right to the unemployment line.

      No.
Long after the strike, the public will still deal directly with the repair shops, but no government worker will be laid off.

  5. He’s a dipper. Boob Rae was typical of them. This Kinew guy will be luck to only crash and burn as hard as Rae did.

Rae Days remain legend here in Ontario. What will Kinew bring to top that? He’s probably working on it.

  6. Canoe is NDP. He’ll throw taxpayer money at them. When the government and union for the public sector sit at a table, there is nobody to defend the taxpayer’s interests.

  7. The expectation from his water carries is that he will meet every one of their unrealistic demands…

Manitoban’s will be lucky if he’s a one term wonder
