I must admit that I started giggling in a theatre after the 10th 10 minute scourging scene in Passion of the Christ because it was so over the top contrived.
I think I was gasping with laughter because it is all so politically incorrect not to care about “fat peoples plight” … or “fat peoples struggles” … that yeah … “I wonder what she said last that ‘triggered’ her beating”. Too funny.
Is that genre called “escalation humor”? Cause it all started out so innocently with “Jungle Gym” … very clever
Comedy is subverting expectations.. Powerful stuff when its done with truth.. Pick a topic that’s all religiously or politically mapped out and run it into the ditch with some truth.. How dare you amuse me..
If it’s comedy it should be funny, right? Where did i miss it? To each his own I guess.
