Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Would like to see Little Justin do the same thing to government salaries in emulation and adoration of his hero (or master).
Let’s start the rumour. Following China’s lead will allow Trudeau to turn the economy around on a dime.
Isn’t it -amazing- to see the freaking Communist government of CHINA move to curtail -government- spending and -government- salaries?
I’ve been saying for a very long time that the one thing our government needs more than any other single item is a huge budget cut. If all they did was cut every budget 10%, from top to bottom, all the little iron rice bowl bureaucrats would find some other sinecure to lounge in.
Here I see Winnie the Pooh reads my blog, and doubled what I said. 20% salary cut. Damn, sometimes I admire their basic dictatorship.
The ‘civil service’ is being democided.
That’s even better.
Democided? Love it. It will be recycled
China faces a tough choice: Either feed the system another surge in credit and monetary expansion with the inflationary pressures that entails, or try contract that real estate credit monster. Neither bodes well in the longer term, but the former kicks the can a bit further.
The latter is the resort when the former no longer works. Perhaps we are there.
When the communist Chinese are telling you the LONG OVERDUE Recession is about to slam headlong into the worlds largest manufacturing employer … yeah … I’d take notice.
This has the feeling of something long, deep, and ugly … like 2008 was just a game.
President for Life Xi Jinping may be heading into some tough times? Is Xi losing the Mandate of Heaven?
That could prematurely term limit Xi’s term in office. Xi came to power by ruthlessly purging his opponents and potential rivals over the last forty years. I am quite sure he will attempt to do whatever it takes to stay in power, no matter how bloody it gets.
What happens in China will affect our economy and our lives enormously. Unrest in China will affect trade. Expect disruption in parts to make and maintain darn near EVERYTHING.
Those parts your domestic suppliers provide you? How many include one or two or two dozen parts made in China? Expect markets for products you can produce to be disrupted too.
“Interesting Times”
I found China’s companies would do the ‘bait and switch’ of products to inferior useless crap that breaks…
jojobraindead
Those companies are western owned and run, now git yer head outa yer A$$hole
Perhaps America’s Globalist multinational corporations would have been wise to heed PDJT’s WARNING and start repatriating American manufacturing? I see an aspirin shortage in our futures
Wage and Price controls part deux? Papa Trudeau slammed the PCs over their idea, won an election on it, and then implemented it. But it didn’t work then and it won’t work now.
“Zap, you’re frozen” ….
The crashed iron rice bowl
I guess inflation is not a problem in China.
Apparently, they can turn their economy on a dime. At least that’s what I’ve heard
The no return point has been reached in the west as well. The US is running a 2 Trillion mainly structural deficit, that should be wildly stimulative, but barely keeps the economy limping. China will be absent from new treasury auctions, pushing rates up, the only option will be the Fed buying the paper and inflation will really get going. “Slowly at first, and then all at once” is prophetic. I’m long gold and energy and short banks. Not sure this will help, but WTF?
I am of the belief that the PRC is entering its Brezhnev phase. When Leonid Brezhnev took power in the USSR back in ’64, he cracked down on dissent and attempted to restore Stalin era Soviet Nationalism, but his reign would become better known for the stagnation that preceded the crumbling of the Soviet Empire.
Artificially creating a state dependent economy will always go the same direction.
On one of the turtle island links, Loblo rodriquez claimed canada was now in the big leagues because of state money to VW, etc.
Big league washout, not any other thing. Just a wipeout.
What a sorry pos he is.
I wonder what his take is?
It’s great being a dictator. You don’t have to worry about laws or unions or regulations. Or people. You just act.
That’s why Justin loves their system and not ours.
Come to think of it, the size of government should be reduced to 20% of it’s size for now, the other 19% can go soon enough.
turd can go first.
Karma is interesting as well.
china will NEED a war!, so will the USSA.
I agree. Probably the first time in 10 years, but I agree with you. You can see them stirring it up in Taiwan.
The USA allowed Taiwan to be the one place on Earth that produces all those sweet computer chips that the entire American economy runs on, and they allowed China to be the place that turns those chips into products. Which was perhaps the most treasonous thing ever done to any country in the history of the world.
So now that the US military literally can’t recruit crews for their all-volunteer army/navy/airforce (because who’s going to volunteer to fight for the DemocRats?) the Chicoms suddenly figure out that they -need- a war. They don’t want one, like Putin. They NEED one.
Xi cuts government pay by 20%? That’s the biggest, reddest red flag ever. He’s bleeding, and backed into a corner. He’s going to make a move with what he’s got, because he’ll literally die otherwise.
Next election in the USA is going to be interesting, eh?
Quibble: Putin doesn’t want war.
But otherwise NME66 and you are right on.
FDR badly needed war and pulled off a brilliant stunt to get it and become a saint in the process.
Yes, this does look like a wartime economy being imposed, doesn’t it? So presumably war is being seriously contemplated. If the Chinese expect to be able to have the Democrats steal the election, the US won’t be a factor, but if the Chinese start to fear the return of Donald Trump they might seize the moment and go to war while the going’s good.
They’re wanting fealty. They don’t care who dies or how. They can make it look the way they want.
Spending outrageous sums on hardware is always fun for them, not us. And it lines their buddies pockets and creates a surge in coffins.
Deaths in wars, are not a consequence for the PTB.
They are a consequence for those that die and those that want them alive and well. “Uneaten” as a famous author once said.
The chickens have come home to roost on 35 years of the “one child policy.” China finds that the producing portion of their population has significantly shrunk as a direct result. So, the last few years have been all about lowering the number of people they are producing for.
1. Lower the salaries of government employees (which is just about everyone, btw)
2. Release a virus into your populous that targets non-producing elderly.
The “one child policy” was so effective that India is now the most populous country. China’s population actually decreased in 2022 and 2023. China now has a “two child policy”, which should tell you that this is an absolute forefront issue with them. They are hands on in engineering their population totals which gives the Covid release that much more authenticity.
“20% government reduction”
Genius.
