The current heat wave is being relentlessly blamed on increasing levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, but there is a much more plausible explanation, one that is virtually endorsed by two of the world’s leading scientific organizations. It turns out that levels of water vapor in the atmosphere have dramatically increased over the last year-and-a-half, and water vapor is well recognized as a greenhouse gas, whose heightened presence leads to higher temperatures, a mechanism that dwarfs any effect CO2 may have.
So, why has atmospheric water vapor increased so dramatically? Because of a historic, gigantic volcanic eruption last year that I – probably along with you — had never heard of. The mass media ignored it because it took place 490 feet underwater in the South Pacific. Don’t take it from me, take it from NASA …

And people complain about the English (or American ) measuring system….i can understand gallons, but measuring in Olympic sized swimming pools? Is that the new Euro mandate???
Well olympic size pools are 50 metres in length so it’s in metric (sort of). 🙂
It’s 300 Hiroshima bombs of Olympic sized swimming pools, four times the size of Manhattan.
Yes. Thanks for converting to SI units, Steve, but what is it in Great Pyramids?
“Yes. Thanks for converting to SI units, Steve, but what is it in Great Pyramids?”
LOL…:)
Meteorologist Don Day addressed this volcano back when it first erupted. He had a great update in his Monday 24 July podcast. Check it out, starting at about 8:50.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdaGjXL8hTs
Great video by Don; thanks for sharing it.
That explains the unseasonably high humidity this year in the Western Canadian prairies.
And the record snows on the west coast this past winter
If only the carbon tax was higher to ensure the volcanos effects were reduced…

Hiker’s body exposed as glacier melts. Soooo, he was covered for the last 37 years by ice?
Yes, and as the glacier moved downhill to the warmer zones, the body was exposed.
Maybe….maybe not. I’d say not.
Gaia is being ravaged by Global Boiling!
Best solution is to adapt to changing weather and climate conditions ….. there have bee wild swings in climate of the past thousands of years … yet we are still here …. and we did it without carbon taxes.
Besides, everyone knows that the Russians control the weather … right?
I’ve noticed an uptick in media driven climate change hysteria lately – I think they’re priming the pump for climate lockdowns. What that’ll look like I don’t know, but after listening to John Kerry spout off about how agriculture needs to do its part for the net zero holy grail I’m convinced these people are both insane and evil and would rather prefer I was dead.
They are evil & insane. Frankly, I wish they were all dead.
When one considers there are more than 500 “known” volcanoes on this planet….. One, only one, in Iceland a few years back with an impossible to pronounce name, Eyjofol something, shut down commercial air travel to Europe for five days. That happened even before carbon tax was a thing. We puny humans are no match for the ever changing machinations of Mother Nature. Only fools and bandits think we can compete with her!
Oh, and we do have both fools and bandits in spades on this issue, and enough gullible public as well!!!!
Ryan Maue’s been all over this on Twitter.
Mainstream media? Ha. Zip. Zero. Zilch.
The climate “science” has always said that CO2 was only part of the warming process, and that global warming will finally, catastrophically go out of control when some threshold level of warming suddenly enormously increases the amount of water vapor in the atmosphere. The OMG! RUN AWAY HEATING! We are doomed! scenario.
It sounds like some of what they predicted has happened, but not from warming, but an unpredictable huge undersea volcanic eruption. 13% or 1/8 additional water vapor in our atmosphere is a LOT! But are we really that much warmer? Are we suddenly doomed?
BTW, all that excess water vapor in the atmosphere will take a few years to completely rain out, but everything will eventually go back to normal.
Until the next huge undersea version of Krakatoa.
Well what do we know, some genuine “Global Boiling”.
The UN was accidentally telling the truth?
Or such a small part of it,that they may as well be lying.
Weird how we,a carbon based life form, live on a water world.
Where the amazing properties of water moderate the climate..almost as if to our benefit.
But our fools and bandits are hysterical in their terror of Carbon and Water..
I say encourage their terror, hunt them, preach Doom ,preach Gloom and agree with all their “Chicken Little ” dreams.
Every Planet Saver needs to be reminded;
Life,their life,is a sexually transmitted terminal disease.
They must stop spreading this deadly disease..
For the good of the Planet.
And to save the children..
Obviously Gang Green must hate “The children”,how dare they continue to spread their form of life?
Sad part is,how do we tell sarcasm from madness anymore?
// Ample physical evidence shows that carbon dioxide is the single most important climate-relevant greenhouse gas in the Earth’s atmosphere.
This is because
CO2, like ozone, N2O, CH4 and CFCs, does not condense and precipitate from the atmosphere at current climate temperatures, whereas water vapor can, and does.
Noncondensing greenhouse gases, which account for 25% of the total terrestrial greenhouse effect, thus serve to provide the stable temperature structure that sustains the current levels of atmospheric water vapor and clouds via feedback processes that account for the remaining 75% of the greenhouse effect. Without the radiative forcing supplied by CO2 and the other non-condensing greenhouse gases, the terrestrial greenhouse would collapse, plunging the global climate to an icebound Earth state. // https://pubs.giss.nasa.gov/abs/la09300d.html
With respect to Mr. Lifson, it doesn’t matter how much water vapour was emitted by the volcano, the atmosphere only holds as much as its temperature allows.
When CO2 raises the temperature, more water vapour can be held, which further raises the temperature etc
Rubbish…..CO2 is a bit player. Absolute rubbish.
You may want to study the Physics of it:
Infrared Radiation and Planetary Temperature
by Raymond T. Pierrehumbert, Physics Today
Infrared radiative transfer theory, one of the most productive physical theories of the past century,
has unlocked myriad secrets of the universe including that of planetary temperature and
the connection between global warming and greenhouse gases.

CO2 is a bit player. Absolute rubbish.
And 99% of it is within a couple of meters of the surface.
Well thats pretty cute Dizzy, you just demolished the UN IPCC’s entire premise of Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming.
For,without their assumption of run away heating, caused by additional water vapour, there is nothing to support their claims..
Keep up the good work.
Why don’t you advise our Minister of The Environment and Climate Change of this amazing wisdom,, as I have it in writing, that “They Defer to the findings of the IPCC” and have no science of their own.
// When CO2 raises the temperature, more water vapour can be held, which further raises the temperature etc //
You just contradicted yourself. If water vapour increases the temperature it would increase the amount of water capable of being held in the atmosphere according to what you just stated
Read something about feedbacks.
“Feedbacks” are cattle-husbandry majors that play football at Texas A&M.
Amazing.
Thanks for the laugh Dizzy.
“When CO2 raises the temperature..”
Is that like “When Hell freezes over”,peace will break out?
Or
“If unobtainium was available, all our energy problems will be solved”?
“// When CO2 raises the temperature, more water vapour can be held, which further raises the temperature etc //”
Except they have already determined that an increase in CO2 levels *follows* the temperature increase.
Quoting NASA to back up “science”.
Hilarious.
Like quoting the CBC for any reason whatsoever.
“Quoting NASA to back up “science”.
Hilarious.”
Wasn’t it? The very people who are *paid* to keep pushing this fiction on behalf of greedy governments everywhere. No incentive to lie there, nope, not at all…
Next up will be KM telling us all that the study was “peer reviewed”…
I call the “unusual heat”, summertime.
Maybe the psychopaths that rule over us should impose a summertime tax… because taxation controls the weather… everyone knows that.
But …but … but don’t they know that volcanic eruptions are caused by exactly the same human behavior as climate change?
The video clip in the link by Bonafide (above) provides some perspective – There are a couple of ghost images of land outlines at about 10 oclock from the eruption.
I googled Tonga on the map – but the images did not look the same – I then figured out those islands were actually Fiji – a few hundred km to the north west of Tonga!
So by measuring Fiji tip to tip on the map – it looks like the vapor cloud was likely at least 300 miles in diameter! Which would cover sask from PA south and border to border east to west.
Yowza!
A few decades ago, If the atmosphere was a hundred dollar bill, CO2 was three cents…now it’s four cents. Forgive me if I don’t panic.
(and forgive me as well for not believing the hysterical fearmongering coming from people who are being *well paid* to panic us)
I’m more concerned about vinyl chloride being released in the atmosphere than water vapour or CO2.
By man. Deliberately.
Sooner or later. touching yourself hardly becomes the effort.
SAVING THE WOR;D OVER HERE ;)..
Said every two bit con man that every walked this earth..
In the end, none of it matters..
People walking on the beach near Brisbane say the heard the eruption, and I have spoken to a woman whose boat was washed onto the mudflats in the minor tsunami that came in through Jumpinpin Channel. Also explains massive flooding in Australia shortly after – see https://joannenova.com.au/2022/03/did-volcanic-dust-from-hunga-tonga-cause-flooding-in-australia/
Water vapor and methane affect the same wavelength of light:
“Methane: The Irrelevant Greenhouse Gas”
https://wattsupwiththat.com/2014/04/11/methane-the-irrelevant-greenhouse-gas/
Who would have guessed that the amount of water vapour in the atmosphere had an effect on climate! Place this in the “No Sh*t Sherlock!” file.
I mentioned here a number of years back that a big part of our problem could be linked to the fact that post WWII mechanized irrigation was pumping hundreds of millions of cubic acres of water into the atmosphere. (Check the irrigation circles all across the globe in previously semi-arid and desert location.)) All of this mechanized irrigation has produced crops that are now available around the world thanks to super transports and as a result countries that are unable to sustain themselves now produce populations that are migrating at a rate never before seen in history. (Previously these countries would experience famines periodically that kept population growth in check naturally.)
If we were to stop mechanized irrigation we would solve innumerable problems that we presently face, not least of which is the theory that we’re causing the globe to lose its natural oscellation by displacing ground water. So we’re damned if we do and damned if we don’t. Stop oil production to stop mechanized irrigation to cause massive food shortages and starvation or keep the irrigation going to feed the growing global population and cause the globe to lose oscellation and spin off into space.
Even Jules Verne couldn’t come up with this kind of plot for a science fiction story
So what the heck was I doing on January 15, 2022? I hardly remember hearing about it until today. But it looks like it was a big deal, after all.

CO2 is not a pollutant or a climate driver. The sun is the climate driver.
Low sun spot activity causes increased volcanic activity on Earth. It all comes back to the Sun.
