In Professor Dettlaff’s imaginings, a world without physical consequences for robbery and predation would mean “individuals have everything they need to thrive.” Except, of course, any third-party protection from the aforementioned habitual criminals and assorted sociopaths. This “new, liberated society,” in which policing has been “firmly disavowed,” will, he insists, “truly keep us safe.”
Progressive “thought leader” is offended by an occasional request for evidence.

That is just how Killer Marmot’s precious papers in journals work. One clown tortures some data until it confesses to their preconceptions, then this crap work is published by a journal with the same preconceptions, then it is widely cited as evidence for many other’s preconceptions until it becomes canonical. Covid vaccines are safe and effective, and climate change will kill us all as the two most egregious current examples. Confirmation bias and boatloads of other people’s (taxpayers) money form a too often lethal combination.
Down towards the end of the linked article there’s this:

People like that are like a klaxon blaring “AVOID! AVOID! Do not engage!”
