  1. To Gerald’s Butt: When the people start to realize that CTV is a Liberal / NDP coalition propaganda stooge like the Pravda in the former Soviet Union, it is no surprise that they stop watching. They don’t like being lied to continuously by proxy – they see enough of that coming from the government side of the House in Question Period, and from the media clips of the Crime Minister and his mafia. And yes, I truly hope that you are royally offended, you putz.

    1. Pooaw Widdo Gerrie doesn’t need to realize that because he knows it d@mn well already. He’s been really really happy at all the devoted lip-service CBC, CTV and Global and the rest of the openly-bribed Canadian Press have been giving his beloved gwobaw wawming, and openly bribing them was likely his idea in the first place – his dear BFF Zoolander isn’t bright enough to figger this out himself.

Gerrie’s only real regret at this is, “1,300 fewer mouthpieces – GWEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeen…”

  2. God will forgive me because the DEVIL wont have me.. I’m too much trouble.. These shameless whores that call themselves journalists need to understand the burden of truth.. Its not sexy or entertaining or pleasant in any way.. Its just the truth..

They choose to lick the boot of their owners.. I do not because I have no owner.. Only my ever present conscious.. The owner who pays you nothing is worth more than a mansion you cant take with you.. Understand?..

    1. To Sean O’Malley
The “publicly funded, public trust model” is the problem not the solution, you idiot. Also, it never existed in your father’s day outside the CBC because it wasn’t necessary. People believed what was reported and the business model of journalistic organizations worked. As usual, you assholes have it ass-backwards which is why you’re being laid off despite public subsidies.

  3. “Hate” is probably the wrong word. “Despise them” or “have complete contempt for them” would be closer.

But to the main point that Gumboots is making, he seems oblivious to the notion that the meltdowns at CTV/Global have a simple explanation. This is because the mainstream voters who hate you are turning away from your government-controlled MSM. Viewership has never been lower for ALL the major networks in Canada, especially the news. Canadians don’t like the domestic version of Pravda you’ve created, Gumboots.

Now let’s look at who’s gone: Walters, Hamamdjian, Workman, Napier, Hwang. I’m failing to see the downside here. Network television will be better with these dregs gone. And the best? The disappearance of that vile toad McGregor. Gumboots doesn’t seem to understand: the disappearance of this collection of twits is cause for celebration.

    1. That’s a lot of TDS gone in one slash. Is that old prune JoyMalbon also getting axed?

Almost a perfect day, what with the Peeler DJ McGregor gone too. He was the biggest of the liars and charlatans, slandering the Freedom Convoy on an hourly basis. I fart in his general direction!

Downside? Blackie hires him to the PMO. Full Circle.

      1. It needs a celebration. Lewis Carroll wrote in 1865 in Alice in Wonderland, “O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!” He chortled in his joy.”

        From the Jabberwocky,
        https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/42916/jabberwocky

I leave it to you to fill in your choice of names as to whom in Canadian politics is “the frumious Bandersnatch” or the other assorted absurd monsters in Carroll’s tale.

As to what’s happening, 1300 positions at nine radio stations got the chop. Here’s the full story.

  4. Shut Up, Gerald, you annoying little twit.
You, too, have helped to “roll back” much that was hard won, in your sleazy ways.
Now go and find an adam’s apple you ponce.

  5. The Premier of my province, Alberta, has been banned for a few days from posting new content.
Perhaps card carrying CBC customers can post on CBC content on Facebook, my news updates on Facebook have been garbage for a few weeks now. I think Facebook has been blocking other’s content for awhile.

I get that most of it is garbage, but I do “sometimes” like to know what the other side has been thinking….

and more of the news coverage of Bell laying off a few folks:

    https://ca.sports.yahoo.com/news/bell-cutting-1-300-positions-151500991.html

“BCE Inc. is cutting 1,300 positions, around three per cent of its workforce, and closing or selling nine radio stations as the company plans to “significantly adapt” how it delivers the news.

The company says the job cuts are in response to unfavourable public policy and regulatory conditions that it can no longer outwait.

The plan entails “moving to a single newsroom approach across brands, allowing for greater collaboration and efficiency,” said Richard Gray, vice-president of news at Bell Media, in an internal memo distributed to staff Wednesday morning and provided to The Canadian Press.”

“At some point, we have to say to ourselves, ‘Is it worth funding this?’” (the last line in the article)

Well apparently not… as apparent as not enough Canadians are buying the garbage. There is plenty of whispering that Global News in Canada is begging for more funds too, or tax credits. To everyone else in the country, it’s called “welfare” and even senior gov’t leaders from the 70’s referred to this as being a “corporate welfare bum”

  6. Who is it……..oh yes Carma…she really is a bitch. You wanted to be a mouth piece for the Liberals and this is your reward. Couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of hacks. Gerald, you are part of the problem having talked to one of your relatives in NS, I can see and understand the resemblance. Sean you have been at the trough log enough. Shut up all ready.

  7. Learn to code … alright … Nevermind … become an internet “Influencer” or something

  8. Awesome that he was kicked out from CTV News. He was disgusting. Now if Joy Malbon is kicked out as well, they may have a path to somewhat decent news.

  9. I hated MCGregor. A rather superficial, unthinking journalist. Not sorry he is gone.

    1. Unfortunately MOST are “superficial, unthinking journalists”….and that is actually a redundant statement.

  10. The only one of these scumbags I recognize is Glenn McGregor from the robocall bs. The rest of them are literally who? Are there actual people who watch CTV fake news?

The constant covid propaganda for two years turned me from a fake news watcher to a fake news avoider. I’m sure I’m not alone.

    1. It started for me in the 2015 election campaign, with the obvious, co-ordinated efforts to STOP HARPER. That was my Jump the Shark moment. Of course, the media has continued since then in its far left agenda, as next was TRUMP, and everything that has followed since.
      Climate Change.
      Covid
      The Ukraine Agenda
      The Pervert Agenda.
Yet, despite their obvious propaganda campaigns, their business model continues to blow up in their faces, doubling down on stupid. Hope they keep it up, the end continues to get closer for them

  11. I see Rebel News is hiring. They can start by crow barring his lips off Trudeau’s @$$, then the ultra de-brainwashing can begin.

  12. Mmmm.. Gimmie my gibs.. You dirty plebs.. We need a special NEW funding program that isn’t quite as GROTESTUGE as the CBC but still keeps the light on..

Slippery slope much?.. They want the cash and they will work out the CBC details later..

  13. I haven’t watched CTV in years. Worthless shills. The last time I checked in they were talking about what punishments the unvaxxed deserved. But they will be far better off than those fired for not taking the vax. They will get unemployment.

No sympathy for Trudeau’s butt kissing propagandists.

  14. Maybe CTV can hire Next Animation Studio to replace the various expensive Anchors and talking heads, with a computer generated anchor of indeterminate ethnicity to read the news every night…

Probably be a whole lot cheaper, and you’d never again have to worry about a LaFlammeOut

  15. I’m reading this and thinking of Edison Carter from Max Headroom and Moses Znaimer’s attempts to ape the model with CityTV in the 1990s. The centralized big studio, big production model can’t compete when everyone is walking around with the equivalent of a 1990s era broadcast-quality camera and editing studio in their pocket, with enough bandwidth to go live anywhere at any time.

If we had anything like a free market in media in this country, someone could outfit an army of roaming reporters, teach them how to do on the spot reporting and editing, and have a small nerve center for orchestrating the streams.

    1. Hmm, Uber Radio?
Talking to Canadians? Host Mike from Canmore? Or Jock McBile?
      Where’s Red Green ?
Quick Dick McDick’s updates from the outhouse, where the country’s headed.
Shawn Majumder doing his sweaty gig.
The Hansen bros go after politicos
Stompin Tom’s ghost, Ottawa Saturday nite.

  16. Hey Rawlco, see how it’s done? Maybe that asshat News Director Murray Wood is worthy of a “review” as well??

  17. I agree with Keean Bexte, at the second link above.

My greater wish on this topic is that grey haired Lisa LaFlamme has already been put out to pasture and can’t be let go again.

  18. Rachel Gilmore is crying a river today, see her Twitter feed.

She is the poster child. Tone deaf, conceited, self-victimizing, and completely clueless to the world surrounding her

    1. DanBC: You left out: hilariously vain, clueless; a vegetable*

*see her Twitter feed where she admits this.

  19. He raging against the darkness.

Instead of a natural competitive free market passing, they want FAIL. Federal Assistance In Lying.

    GLAM Government Liberals Assist Media

  20. The format of the MSM is broken and that is why they are losing audience. For example…

Years ago a CBC journalist and cameraman went to Africa for a piece on Ebola. The video was sobering. They spent a few days standing outside the field hospital where Ebola victims were being taken. Through the front door entered the doctors and nurses dressed from head to toe in Hazmat coveralls. Through the back door entered the locals to pick up the dead bodies and take them to a mass grave site. They piled them into an old ambulance. No coveralls. The driver didn’t even own a pair of shoes. The journalist said almost nothing and let the video do the talking. One of the best pieces of journalism I’ve ever witnessed. On CBC.

About 4 years ago, TVO had a debate about a new highway (413?) to join the more distant but rapidly growing cities (like Aurora) more directly to the GTA. They had a panel of 4-5 people moderated by Steve Paiken. None of the panelists lived in these distant cities. None of the panelists would ever have need of the highway. They were all local Toronto hacks, some recurring characters on TVO as resident experts on everything. Even Paiken declined to take the side of the highway to prop up the badly stacked panel. I watched the whole interview waiting for one person to say something in support of the highway. It never came and that was the last time I watched TVO. And its free with an antenna in high def.

When the VP of marketing and sales for Anheuser-Busch decided to use a trans influencer to promote beer to American red-necks who think transsexuals suffer from mental illness, she had no idea the company was about to lose $20 B in market cap. These people live in a bubble. The people laid off at CTV will somehow blame people on the right when it is the left who are no longer watching this garbage. The right checked out years ago.

When you turn journalism into activism, the people who agree with you stop watching because it’s boring while those who don’t agree with you stop watching because they don’t like being preached to. You end up with no viewers. The bosses at Bell now know this. The people at CTV do not.

  21. It seems the useful idiots are no longer useful to the regime , image that ……… where else through history have we seen this happen ?

  22. How do we add our ‘condolences’ to those tweets?

I’d love to share my feelings with them.

  23. “Him what pays, says” as the old saying goes. Any public funding is controlled by the government and when you’re sucking on the government’s teat you can’t kick it in the butt. You’re going to do what it says to keep the cash flowing.
I pay for the Epoch Times and when my next pension payment arrives I’ll be buying a subscription to Blacklock’s Reporter. When I’m paying for news if you don’t report the facts, or worse if you distort or don’t report them because of an ideological agenda you’ll lose my business, and probably that of other subscribers.

A publicly funded system will help the government hide it’s wrongdoing out of fear of unemployment. A for profit service will expose government wrongdoing out of the same fear. A for profit service will not endanger it’s ad revenue by investigating it’s advertisers, as we’ve witnessed with the MSM’s treatment of Pfizer recently.

  24. 1600 people, 3% of the workforce… that means there’s 43 thousand people working for Bell Media. Well, 42 thousand now.

Meanwhile Tucker Carlson, solo, gets tens of millions of views for each Twitter video.
