  1. Family up near Ft. Vermillion/High Level were informing me a year or so back when the fires were all around that the citizens of La Crete were certain that fires were being set deliberately around them with the hopes of burning down their community. At one point firefighters were spotted on the wrong side of the river trying to light trees on fire. A controlled burn to fight the fire they were told but the community wasn’t buying it. This is a town of people that work in forestry, agriculture and oil so they’re no idiots either.

This year again they’re surrounded by fires and for a short time they were cut off in all directions leaving the community. There’s some real nasty stuff going on here. Did I mention this was the town that refused to vaccinate even going as far as kicking the AHS out of town when they came in with heavy handed tactics?

    1. This is not Smith, this is bureaucrats who are NDP supporters doing everything they can to make the UCP look bad.
Don’t forget, most gov’t workers vote NDP. Smith needs to clean house once she is elected, fire every gov’t staffer that exists. She couldn’t do it before the election but she can sure as hell do it after.

      1. Frenchy

        I agree 1000%
The filthy Commie has her Useless monions hard at work.

Lets not forget that BITCH, nixed the use of water bombers for the Ft Mac fire, as well as reducing Public monies for wild fire fighting…

        No stretch at all…IMO.

      2. Bingo.
Hang them all first for treason and arson.
We will hold trials for them ,say come fall..?
The swivel servants are the voter base for the Never Done Paying enough party.
And Gang Green are their pet terrorists.

  2. Is Premier Smith trying to get tainted by the same brush that Notley was with her idea of unionised fire fighters only?

Is there something about being “a northern girl” that makes them stupid?
    Sleeping fires? wot? wot?

    1. Typically the strength and progression of wildfire diminishes at night due to several factors; like increased humidity as the dew point drops at night, as does wind and the absence of sunlight and daytime heating. This is not always the case, however, but firefighters can use the overnight times to get ahead of the fire or to beat it back, more effectively, so “going home at night” is not productive.
The woman mentioning the fires “going to sleep at night” is not being as accurate as she can be, possibly due to lack of direct knowledge, which, if she is “in charge” of anything fire suppression related, is not a good thing.

  3. We’re under attack. It’s called unlimited warfare authored by the Chinese and supported by the left wing political parties. Canada has never been more vulnerable to complete takeover.

    1. By the time Canadians figure out that the Liberal Party is just the Communist Party of China’s stalking horse, the Liberal Long March will be over and your only duty will be to behave and do as you’re told.

Two communist poofs from Quebec, a lying lowlife communist Media and horny ignorant voters of a certain gender killed the country.

      Feeble, inept Conservatives certainly contributed.

As did every lawyer, doctor, accountant, economist, business owner etc who knew and silently sat by.

It’s time for all good men to …………never mind.

There are obviously NO good men in Canada.

    2. Here they call it, unified destruction theory*.
The bureaucracy is a big part of it. It pretends to justify their existence.

      *copyright.

  4. And to think there are Albertans who actually believe they are different from the rest of canada. Alberta is just as broken as the rest of the country.

    1. But, but, but Eastern Canada…..

      But, but, but Socialists…….

      But, but, but Separation…..

Lots of buts, but only Buttheads vote NDP!

Seems like when it comes to reality, Albertans are all NDP hat and no cattle.

After sending $20 billion a year for 30 years to Quebec, it appears being a Bitch for Socialists is Alberta’s place in life.

Must be all the Conservative genes.

Having said that I hope you remember some good old western frontier justice when you catch the firestarters.

      1. Alberta has the same damned problem Texas and a bunch of other states have. Do well economically and create jobs while places like Newfieville and commiefornia sent their own economies into the dumper, people leave the commie states looking for work and bring their failed policies with them. Hell, ole’ Rach even hired from out of province to staff her government to get the cream of the crap in there.

          1. Ask around, do a quick straw poll in E-town and in Calgary, where are you from? You’ll have your answer. Plus, between the three levels of government, especially including all the post-secondary institution staff, you have a whole whack of very organized and motivated voters. I would have to guess around 35-ish percent of Edmonton’s voting base is employed by government in some capacity.

  5. Oh come on, the Director of Emergency Management needs an Emergency to manage; no good letting the rabble end it. This is a good example of the unnecessity of government.

  6. And remember, this is Alberta, the most “free” and “independent” province in Canada.

  7. I remember living in Northern Alberta in the early 80s. Fires were common in the springtime. And often they were set.

  8. I was accused of being a ‘Chicken Little’ of sorts with respect to the derailment and subsequent spill of Vinyl Chloride in Trump voting, Palestine Ohio. Gov’t agencies lying to the public? That’s just crazy talk!!! Why would they???? Now we find out the EPA did indeed lie to residents there and are still.
These people are sociopaths, they are never to be trusted…ever. And as someone already pointed out…if Smith is elected on the 29th…and she will, she needs to immediately sweep out every single last one of these evil NDP/Liberal apparactiks.
Something tells me she hasn’t got what it takes to get it done.

Who’s the uniformed potted plant second from the right who looks like he’s waiting to be called into the principal’s office.

    1. Smith will not be elected on the 29th. There are so many NDP lawn signs in Calgary NW as well a lot of oil field workers have moved. Calgary is becoming a government town as well.

      1. Smith will be elected if we get off our asses & get out to support her. Yes, Calgary will lose seats but we can stem the flow. A lot can be done in 2-1/2 weeks.

If all we do is sit back, wring our hands & watch, we get the gov’t we deserve. The election is ours to lose.

        1. I think the fear factor of a Nurse Rachet victory is a good thing; it should get out the PC vote on election day.

As long as Cowtown PC supporters turn up at the polls, Smith will win.

Edmonton will go NDP, and ridings outside metro Edmonton and Calgary will go PC, so both cancel each other out more or less.

Calgary will NOT go majority NDP. The NDP will pick up seats in the core and NE and a handful elsewhere, but the majority will go PC.

I think the probability of a narrow majority for the PCs very high, of a large majority still better than 50-50.

Barring anything of consequence happening in the campaign, of course.

  9. In the “news” today, a bad batch of drugs hits Calgary streets, overdoses galore, I guess we’re supposed to think that maybe we need an NDP government since they have so many good ideas on how to deal with the opioid crisis, injection sites, safe supply etc etc, like the left is doing so well in the more progressive regions of the country.
The timely arrival of this bad batch reminds me of the excellent and mutually beneficial relationship between the drug cartels and the Democratic Party in the USA.
Arson, deadly street drugs, what more can we expect before voting day.
I like the “Smith called the vaccinated Nazis” meme in the “news”, very entertaining.

    1. Give every druggy a big bag of uncut stuff, point them to the safe injection site, send the meat wagon around in a couple hours.

      Problem solved.

  10. Keep fighting Alberta,it’s to bad you have to fight fire as well as bureaucrats but you will prevail

  11. UCP is the Kenney party. An overweight childless sodomite. That bent over For Trudeau when COVID was released. So what’s Smith going to do?

    1. I don’t trust Danielle Smith. She betrayed the Wildrose party when she crossed the floor. And I don’t believe that she had a “Come to Jesus” moment either and that we all should believe her now. But that being said, Rachel Notley is an absolute horror.
Just my 2 cents worth from Regina, Saskatchewan.

      1. Big Momma, I’m on board with your trust issues. Big time. I could taste the bile rising in my guts when I bought a UPC membership for 10 bucks. Then I shelled out $150 to vote the Liar Kenney out. Man, did that ever hurt. In the end, it’s the best $160 I’ve spent in a long, long time.

The good news is that the provincial board who advises the premiere currently has a slight majority (9 of 17) of members who are sympathetic to small-c conservatism. There are annual elections held for half of the board positions, so a two year term. Last summer TBA was successful in getting all nine candidates elected. This summer TBA will attempt to get even more sympathetic candidates elected.

Why is this important? Because this board holds significant power over all card-carrying UCP members, up to and including the revoking of memberships. Even MLA’s & the Premiere. Can’t be Premiere sans a membership…

There are many people on these boards who mock Alberta as being as bad as the RoC. Slowly, surely, Albertans are taking power back from the politicians & putting it squarely in the hands of the populace. Democracy as it was designed to do.

To you naysayers, what has anybody in your province done to that end? How many of you have rid yourselves of a shitty Premiere, elected a Premiere at least somewhat sympathetic to the cause & shifted the weight of the provincial board in your favour, all in less than a year? Yeah, thought not.

To those of you who don’t like DS, I get it. Those of you who are pissed at Kenney’s legacy & his henchmen, I understand. However, if you think your lot will improve under Red Rachel, I got a chunk of swamp for sale, real cheap.

We need to get voters out. 18-24 year olds who have never voted or who would likely vote for the commies. Ask them what’s important to them, then show them why it would be worse under Red Rachel. Electricity costs quadrupling when it can actually be supplied, energy costs skyrocketing, debt & deficit spiraling out of control. As much as it kills me to say this, appeal to their “feelz”. A lot of these people don’t deal in facts.

This is arguably the most important election Alberta has ever had. Don’t let it pass sitting on your hands. If your ED is secure, go next door & help out there. Search Take Back Alberta, find out about a local meeting & attend. Learn something about provincial politics & how a few people can effect significant change. Stop participating in Canada’s national sport, political apathy. If you love your children & grandchildren, do it.

  12. There are stories from the “bad, old days” of the Depression, that government agents (from the FDR regime) were sent out to buy acres of crops that were ready for harvest and would put them to the torch–in order to keep the prices high and keep the economy from going into a deflationary cycle. So, it appears that prices are “always” going up (but in reality the currency is being devalued–so that more of it is required to buy this year than was required to buy last year). Perhaps this action is something akin to that.

  13. I will add these folks based their response on computer modelling. Computer modelling is a lazy and stupid man’s way of avoiding responsibility. Excuses for a lazy and stupid peoplekind’s way of dealing with an emergency. The models are only as good as the assumptions they are based on and someone sitting in an office almost always makes bad assumptions. F*ck you computer models. Instead of sitting on your peoplekind hind end and go out and collect real data. Only a computer model with bad assumptions fed into it would assume fire can race across a freshly plowed field as easily as a forest.

    1. It appears modelling is cheaper than staffing the fire towers and responders. Wonder what the salary for that on-stage panel is and how much actual good, in staff and equipment, could be paid for by eliminating them..

There are things that seem very coincidental going on and would not put interference past any of them.
If there really are provocateurs/saboteurs out there, follow the shoot/shovel/shut up rules..

  14. In BC you can’t fight any fire without the proper government supplied training and paperwork. WCB requires it and it protects the government from liability lawsuits. Alberta may be the same. Perhaps that was why people were turned away. Simple bureaucratic incompetence. Never attribute to malice what can be explained by stupidity.

  15. Back in the day a tornado hit Leamington, Ontario. My late brother loaded up his chainsaws and headed out to help with the many trees that were downed. Ain’t no way that was going to happen. Can have neighbour actions when there is are bureaucrats that have the opportunity of overtime pay, hazard pay and all that. Insurance and all that BS.

  16. Canadians always want the government to ‘Do Something!’
Usually they turn things to shit, but in this case I guess it’s ash.

  17. This is exactly what the ndper bureaucrats want,,, for you to turn against Smith.
The little foot soldiers are out starting fires, and the bureaucrats want their purposefully ineptness to be tagged to Smith.
Most don’t understand the ultraistic mentality that has evolved in the political left, “forward” is all that counts. If that means burning down some ranches and farms, so be it. If it means lighting up some well heads, so be it. If it means unloading deadly fentanyl laced drugs on the street in Calgary, so be it.
It’s about squeezing votes out, to their way of thinking.
They have no conscious regarding their actions, “it’s for the greater good”. In Their Minds!

    1. Dumbass, read up on what a kulak was. If you think your trail cams will protect your operation and prosperity from a hostile government that eventually will come for it (and you) then god bless you. No man, or farmer for that matter, is an island.

    2. Dumba,,, in 4 years the Turd will keep sending migrates to your province, and they will change to demos so much, you’ll soon be like B.C. Same will happen to MB, PC’s are destined to lose this next election, and that province will forever be transformed.
In four years, there won’t be any lesson to teach anyone,,, but yourself, and those that are thinking they need to teach the UCP a lesson!

  18. Note that the bureaucrats talking about what models tell them, they have meetings and meetings and meetings instead of getting out of the bloody way and get those that put out the fires to work.
The guy appreciate what the farmers are telling him. I call that fracturation language, you start talking about everything and anything else instead of shutting bloody up and put out the fires.
    Scheming is not gonna help.

  19. I was looking at the video but couldn’t see the “stupid fat cows get up and leave” cue… or was that an instinctive walking away before blame finds you.

  20. Alberta governments, whether from the NDP’s ultra-far left extremists, or Danielle’s fake-conservatives, are fully invested in these fires raging out of control and causing as much damage as possible.

Just like previous fires, the government did everything in its power to create the conditions for fires, and then everything in its power to prevent the citizenry from reducing its spread or limiting the damage caused.

And all this to add to the narrative of the imbecilic, anti-scientific lie of global warming.

And this is true worldwide. Australia’s far-left governments did the same before their brush fires. And California. And so on, and so on.

These politicians all report to the same POSs that rule us. And are working day and night to impoverish us – almost entirely through lies and deception.

None of which results in a shot being fired in defense.
