At the Revere Hotel in Boston, FBI agents and Army Special Ops units were about to conduct a “training exercise”.
In the “exercise”, they would go into a room and interrogate a “role player”.
Instead, they went to the wrong room, where an unsuspecting airline pilot answered the door. They handcuffed him, threw him into the shower, and interrogated him for about an hour, before he was able to convince them he wasn’t the “role player”.
They then told him that he could never speak about what had happened, and left.
When it became public, the government’s response was basically “oops”.
Will the guy’s fingernails grow back, or are they gone forever?
Is Canada’s RCMP helping to train the FBI?
Is the FBI leading the RCMP on their church burning investigation?
Why are the federal police so mediocre?
Are there hiring quotas built on skin color, religions, political beliefs?
Or are they just tier 2 like the rest of our federal governments?
Marc, it should be obvious by now for the past century. Statist thugs are always morons. Take any goon from the KGB, the FBI, the RCMP, CSIS, MI 6, Homeland Security, or in previous generations, the NKVD or Gestapo. No significant difference among any of them. Their job description requires automatic adherence to their authority regardless of how stupid or immoral that authority may be or however illegal the actions they demand their goons commit. That was the point of All the President’s Men.

Update: my son has heard about this. What the report doesn’t say is that the pilot was stripped naked and interrogated in the shower.

Why should anyone be surprised? This is what happens in a police state with monstrosities like “Homeland Security”, the CIA, “Rendition programs”, assassination by Presidential decree authorizing specific drone strikes. this is exactly the sort of thing that President Dwight Eisenhower warned about in his speech on the military-industrial complex in 1961.
And guess what? He was immediately succeeded by a statist thug, John Kennedy and the rest of the crony corporatists who formed his Cabinet. These goons were the start of the downfall that directly resulted in the maltreatment of innocent civilians.

Seriously, it seems the pilot is not going to keep quiet about this. I’d say keeping his mouth shut is the wrong thing to do. Sunlight! The best disinfectant.
The pilot should sue their assess off and not settle out of court.
The trial should make wonderful TV!
It would likely be in Federal Court, so there is ZERO chance of it being televised (federal court rules).
If it was in a State Court, the Feds would lean on the judge and likely prevent it from being televised, even if Massachusetts does televise civil trials.
Finally, does anyone think the government fellating news media will start an all out blitz to demand the trial of a major FBI screw-up? Remember this is the same city where the news media ignored the FBI bromance with the Mafia hitman Whitey Bulger.
He should sue the hotel as well.

The pilot is lucky they thought he was a role player / one of their own. Otherwise it could have been much worse.
Did he get his required amount of sleep before his next flight?
Police definitely need further training at reading numbers! Not a day goes by without a story of cops raiding the wrong house. How hard is it to read an address?
Perhaps that question should be directed at the teachers’ unions.
At least they didn’t shoot his dog…
